The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #31

Hi everyone. I know it's rather off the usual time I post this, but hey, I was enjoying another live event video. Live, as in streaming event. So yeah, sorry for being this late. A lot of firsts on that VR mobile game though. Like, I just managed to give them money for in-game premium currency. *laughs* Hey, they deserve it, for the past year that I've been enjoying the love of 18 2D girls. Suck it, Sims FreePlay haha

アニメ Koi to Uso
Having a girl in your dirty-a** room? Nejima, HAVE YOU NO SHAME???!!! I mean, the mother knows haha
Okay, let's talk about this week's episode (#KoiToUso04) which is probably still not a reason for me to watch this show. But we'll see. We now know the government came in for a post-evaluation survey, talked about the details of the Yukari System (nothing to do with Nejima btw), and asked about why they didn't have sex at this point of time. Lol for that, and I hope it will never get to that because I can see the author totally resisting doing anything further than kisses, but still. On other things, we now can confirm Teresaka is lying to herself, and possibly everyone around her (ie. Ririna and Nejima) in order to cover something. That something, we don't know of. As of now, might be something to do with Nisaka. Can't help but think at this point that she already got her marriage notice, and the guy... let's just say we'll know in due time. Anyways, I like how the plot goes at this point, and so long as no one does something as dirty as what that government people said I guess we're fine. I'm just withholding acknowledging this show as being good just mainly due to the scars that is Kuzu no Honkai.
"Like Nejima, I don't want to have any unnecessary boner haha" -Kaineng, 2017
*repeats Ririna's comment in her voice* hehe
P.S. I mean, Nejima has no guts to enjoy camping with two girls plus him but has the balls to ask his friend to join him. I know, right? WTF that's how we make sure you get to **** them both!! Well, just for the memory for one; "the wife" can wait haha
P.P.S. I'm probably giving the ending theme song for this anyway; Frederick (the opening theme) is WAY too hard to give. The recent viewing of a rock festival live video footage doesn't help much. I shall see for myself. And WTF is with the preview did Nisaka get sexed? lol
[My comment on RC]

アニメ Aho Girl
What happens when one tries to defend his boss from being beaten by another when we clearly know the boss is an idiot? I pity the guy who will get beaten ten times over, to say the least lol
The new episode (#AhoGirl04) talks about more stupid stuff, like the new guy Ryuuichi who serves under the idiot wanting - just to clarify so we are not ALL idiots lol - to be friends with Akkun, and he kind of got it? I mean, good thing it ended up like this because now he won't get beaten up that badly too often? Haha on other things, it's the very first time I've ever praised kids being smart (in front of this idiot of course) in my entire life for telling the "bad guy" to do what they say and still, their influence is futile on their fellow mate, and the girls decide to sneak into Akkun's room. Well, you can guess what happened. Sayaka was the insurance and their reason so get out of it unscathed (physically and mentally), the Prez is totally enjoying herself but not enough lol, and that idiot... let's just say she's okay as an idiot. And also, education is perfect, you idiot. Stop influencing your teachers to quit their jobs lol

"We don't want to be pawns of society anymore!"
(Good meme? lol)
[My comment on RC]

アニメ Tsurezure Children
"My mom told me to bring some today" Oh your mother knows stuff can I bang your mom instead? #notMILF haha
The new episode (#TsurezureChildren04) got serious all of a sudden? Remember the joke pair? Yeah they are going out now. But more than that, they got into quite a situation. You guys know of porn magazines? The guy's house got the hardcore one, just in case you don't know. (I speak from experience lol) Anyways, things got real intense (thought I saw a glimpse of another Anime for a second), and I like how the mothers from both sides can read the mood. The Akagi couple strikes again, the smoker is really confused, but then again I think I get the idea here where Akagi is half serious about it and making... Kaji-san (yeah I don't know of her name; "girl" tomboyish characters as they are called don't stick with me) follow with the decision to go out or whatever. Then again it feels kind of awkward but hey, I like the conclusion for this couple, as of now. Minagawa is still teasing Furuya (I almost forgot the name until I remembered the sister lol) about confessing his own feelings (I like the one realisation that he might be duped once again; haha nice one author-san), and I guess now she's playing the faking it technique and clearly, it's working on him. Man, she COULD NOT be more narcissist than that haha. Finally, I don't know of somewhere in your life where you're tasked to pass a love letter to someone else, but hey it kind of worked. Sugawara got ear of how he can be more proactive to confess to Takano someday. because I would like to see this sad relationship bloom. You and I man, we watch this show to see what happens next. From the crybaby girl Kamine is still crying from last time we saw her lol
OMG this is quite literally my reality with the one I like
P.S. This show has more than 100% rewatch value. Which explains my recent purchase of the manga e-book and me watching every episode (and the ones before) multiple times every week haha
P.P.S. But seriously, I need to remember the names by now already. Very hard to write this post every week with me constantly referring to websites and the episode (which was rewatch value haha) all the time.

Ah now that I noticed, but technically I'm watching "the length of three shows" every week? Hey, haven't broken the record yet though haha

アニメ Gamers!
I mean, Uehara has ALL THE RIGHTS of hitting on girls, don't get me wrong. But then again, this is the drama this show was going for??
The new episode (#Gamers03) is bringing forth what should be worth watching for the rest of this series, so let's talk about it. Firstly, we are finally introduced the last of our main cast or participant to this love pentagon or whatever we're in now lol okay this one first. Hoshinomori (as I would prefer calling her even though it's long) is also like Amano, a casual gamer who is taking pride over what they like about games. Unfortunately, that also means if they are in conflict no one will give in, unlike... or if I would say so myself, me as a gamer. So yeah, that's that. Problem is, instead of being mediator, Uehara may have dived in too deep into relations considering he dived into games yet again from last episode's realisation, which seems like a problem. He is neglecting the girlfriend (if you remember that he has one), praising the other girl who got her hair cut because of him, and more as we might discover in the future. Amano too, he's picking up girls left and right, talking to previously seaweed-hair girl (lol) and Aguri now. I mean, I can see the build-up for total misunderstanding despite the small clearing of understandings (like mediating between Amano and Hoshinomori, Amano and Aguri), but is this escalated too... extreme? I don't know what to feel of this show besides the fact that they talk nothing but games even though they may be fictional (theories-wise they are not, which explains why there's a degree in gaming in some universities) and I can't help but only focus on the relations between them characters but still shying away considering how it is done so far. At this point I feel as depressed as Tendou-san as to whether to give this show any due credit or not. But for now, I better think of whether to give any of the theme songs or not or both.
That's Tendou Karen on the floor by the way lol
P.S. But seriously, getting away with substituting everything with a 'S' with a 'Z'?? Man, be glad Sony isn't suing this show for anything then again there's Gamers that hobby shop so I guess it's fine lol
P.P.S. OMAKE!!! Because I still like Tendou-san (we'll see how far that goes it's only been since last episode haha) AND Chiaki is MVP this episode 'desu desu' haha

[I may seriously need to consider swapping the order which I watch Anime randomly so I can get a different show on the post thumbnail every week. Or maybe I can find a way to change it otherwise I'll see about it]

漫画 Kuroshitsuji
The new chapter (130) (and sorry for being late as always) has told us that... everything is a lie. Well, a very well concealed lie, Yana-sensei, and I commend you for that. Remember other Ciel? *Spoilers start here* Yeah, there were supposed to be two. (Audience: WHAT????) Yep, the mother had given birth to twins. Not like there is any technology to know of such a thing in the 20th century, so there you go. Plot twist. Not that the current Ciel has a brother, he was the evil heir. Not that Sebastian and Tanaka ignore that, but that it's just been followed by the orders of current Ciel. Then why? Why all the problems now? What has that got to do with the stars? And the blood donation? Did current Ciel dry out his twin brother only to be revived by Bravat? So that now we have to call Bravat the hero now? Ah, so many questions, and only the next chapter will tell us then. I shall wait patiently, Yana-sensei, for you will enlighten us on why you decide to reveal such a fact only now.
Since the chapter is all spoilers and you cannot skip images...
This one is spoiler-free haha
P.S. Hey, I'm glad this story didn't end up to be like Detective Conan where it's going to be that one guy for life. In here, we now got two haha or maybe not who knows who will be dead on the ground this is literally a descendant thing like those dramas lol

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
This week is quite a week for releases, I would say. Amamiya Sora's new single is surprising to say the least. The topic song is quite a tease the last time we hear her sing a sensuous song from her 1st album ("Feather Rondo", by the way). But also being her first non-credited single the single tends to disappoint with the B-side, which by the way, is worse than your "typical Anison title", in my opinion. (Damn, who writes these songs?) PHONO TONES collaboration with Adam at (yes that's the cat's name lol) has led to release of two singles this week, and hearing both of them on Apple Music I think I prefer the former's music style compared to the latter's piano heavy and lack of punch in the music. Yeah, they both don't sing, just in case you wonder. I've also quite recently got a listen today to Ogura Yui's 2nd album which has Anime "Tsurezure Children" ending theme song (just in case you wonder why on Earth I would listen to her lol), and... I'm not a fan of Tamura Yukari back in 2010, I won't be a fan of her successor in 2017. And that is not to say I shouldn't give the song. I'm trying to ignore her singing, and trust me, it's hard.

Next week brings us FLOWER FLOWER's long awaited new single (not that I've heard anything of it yet) and Minase Inori's new single ever since her 1st album in April, and also Anime "Tsurezure Children" opening theme song which no doubt I'm rather hyped for. But talking about hype I can never be more hyped than being in an online community enjoying the entertainment from that VR mobile game (see above) I've been playing for a year. Never regretted sideloading every single update from not Google Play Store for the past year.

On other other news, KANA-BOON and SPYAIR are releasing singles later this year, TrySail's new album topic song sounds like s**t haha (sorry, girls), Yoru no Honki Dance's new song was great (can't wait for it two weeks down the line), and more on my Twitter account likes if you ever follow this idiot on social media. Okay, please do follow? I'm just here to provide less opinion and more information anyway. Trying to keep it clean, yes?

Alright I shall stop here. It's getting late and I've got a lot of maintenance things to do scheduled on Sunday too from adding new songs to the list to backing up my computer and so on. Cya guys next week then, and until next time... really, don't know anything? Follow celebrities on social media? Don't know who to follow in Japan and love voice actresses? Try looking at my following list for a start.

P.S. "Starbucks' strawberry flavour is the same colour as my lips", she says.
I would like to point out the number of likes she got since she posted it yesterday haha UMPH may Yuuki Aoi-chan post (large image) selfies on Twitter this often till eternity so I can put her as my phone wallpaper hehe

The Dream Record 20170729

Hey, good morning. I can't believe I'm waking up so early on a Saturday morning for this, but hey, time waits for no one as I'm going out later and I told myself it's going to be worth it. So yeah, who's in my dream last night that is worthy of mention? Read on to find out.

A couple of firsts on this one. Firstly, this is probably my first double-level dream ie. A dream on top of a dream. So my writing format shall be in normal paragraph from where I say I start, and the blockquotes will be the dream in a dream itself. So, in this one, I'll not do any form of interruption in case of any inception confusion lol

Also, I'm tired of tracking how many times I've done this, so for the first time I'm going to use date conventions. I may fix the earlier entries or not, whatever. But from now on this shall be the norm. Okay, let's begin.

"[Dream starts here]
"I was inside a buffet of sorts, maybe in a convention or something because it feels hardly like a wedding. It feels crowded in a room as all of us sit on long sets of benches facing one another. It was time for the second round of food to be served. Many rush to my right to grab for the food that is just served, hot off the kitchen. I say patiently as I waited for my turn and convinced myself there is nothing to rush about at this point. I head on a while later across the room ahead of me, seeing another crowd that has subsided. It looks like the soup counter, it seems, and sitting at the bench with the serving pots is Numakura Manami (without her glasses) staring at the crowd now right behind me as I advance to her table.
I sat opposite her as she was sitting in the bench with her back against the wall. Before it could stand up to look at one of the pots to see if there are any leftovers for me on the soup, she stood up and passed me a portable umbrella which she was holding on her hand, previously under the table. She said a bunch of gibberish (she's Japanese anyway and I'm not) as she hints me by pointing on the subsided crowd behind me and the bowl on her other hand. I have a little nod and it made her smile. She swiftly makes her way to the other counter of food as I looked around the two pots remaining on the counter. One was totally empty leaving little edibles on the bottom, and another which was close to the left side edge where she sat, was less than half filled with soup. I heave a sigh of relief as I quickly did a top up on a small bowl I brought on a tray. Noticing there is also a larger bowl on my tray, I hesitantly took it out and placed it beside the pot, pouring all the remaining on to the container. As I see it fill up till the brim I could not stop myself from the current action until I see it overflowing on the counter for a couple of seconds, which did not seem to wet the floor whatsoever. I then see Numakura Manami come back from behind me. I passed her back the item, she whispered a word of thanks (in English) amongst the noisy crowd. I have a former smile of reply as I took my leave, taking the filled bowl of soup with me.
Returning to my seat, I told myself not to mention a word because she wouldn't understand me anyway. And as I took my seat I then noticed that I forgot to bring the other larger bowl back, and I worry is she noticed it or not. One thing's for sure: Numakura Manami is great!"
I woke up from my dream only to notice I'm in another, sitting beside a group of people who are actively discussing on their trip to Japan which I assume includes me."

Yep, and this is how I woke up, to reality. This last part is also the only things I remember to convince myself in in a dream of another dream. And yes x2, Nu-chan is or special guest for this post. And yes x3, I woke up to the newest song I've given her this year, from her first album, "Hello,Ms.Myself".

Now, let's talk about references. I don't know of any. If any recent encounters would remind me of this dream is also totally unlikely because I've been a stay-in for the past few weeks. Yeah. So I've seriously no idea where the buffet and Nu-chan came from. Maybe it's a time my brain told me to miss her already. Because seriously, not been setting her too active on Twitter recently. Anything happened to her, I suppose? Oh yeah, and I wasn't thinking of her last night, I swear.

Okay maybe I was because I could've get myself to sleep. I don't know.

Cya guys tomorrow for entertainment news, yes? I don't think I'm going to remember another one of these tomorrow morning; we shall see. Until then... I wish you had such good dreams like mine.

P.S. Written using one handed swipe keyboard on my phone for 45 mins. Now that's a personal record for things you should never be doing for long period of time on your bed lol

The Klassic Note Review 2017.07 Issue 3

Welcome back to the TrySail-Klassic Note Review Special part 3 *wink* and yes, it's apparently a trend for me to catch up on their singles after I've rejected them. Hehe well since that's what I'm here for, let's talk about what makes me want to come back to listen to them again, despite how much of them isn't what I expected of this idol group. Haha, I said it.

But seriously, if not for the live performance video I probably won't land my hands on the 2nd album and give the remaining songs in this review when it releases next month. I mean it. The topic song is disappointing, for starters. Okay, let's get to it.

[For ease of understanding which I will not mention in the review(s), using the first image you see, from top left and clockwise, that's Asakura Momo, Amamiya Sora and Natsukawa Shiina]

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
HoneyWorks meets TrySail - Senpai. [Single]
Limited Edition Anime Limited Edition Regular Edition
(Ignoring Anime as usual, "close-ups are better" I always say. The idea of a room isn't bad either)

Origin: It was the end of the year 2016. The cinemas air HoneyWorks' latest attempt in creating the ideal romance Anime, with cover and original songs written and all faucets of production done by the creators' unit as they are referred to, from illustration to music. This is their second attempt already (first was with idol group sphere), and ignoring their main line singer CHiCO it's yet another collaboration, but with idol group TrySail. Ignoring the obvious company-based partnership, this turned out to be better than anticipated, and even better than expected. Given the expertise that HoneyWorks has over the years in writing Anison coupled with the recently popular and young idol group, it's no wonder such a miracle can exist. Other than that, I'm just here to review the single. And after half a year from release, it's no wonder it's still worth of mention. And without further ado, let's talk about how such a grand combination can come into fruition, and how it ended up being great.

(1) Senpai. [Senior]
For being an Anime movie opening theme song, this is rather impressive from first listen, seven months ago. But really, HoneyWorks has been known to create impact in their tunes, and this one is no exception. The catch from the introduction drew me in, and everything else just comes in nicely. This is one melody you'll not hear twice, not from these guys who made it great. Add on TrySail's youthful singing voices and that music video about them back in school doing confessions and stuff... it's the romance stuff we've all wanted to see, and hear. Overall a nice melody to listen to, and that certain parts of this song will want you coming back for more. The lyrics also ring well to the theme of the movie (which I didn't watch) and the idea of liking someone who is older than you. I mean, we've all been through that, and now this song cements the idea in perfect relation. The chorus tells us all:
"For the person (I) like who was born a little earlier
(I've) been in love with (him) a little while
If only (I) can make the clock go ahead in time
You and (my) seat was getting closer
You were also getting a lover
No it's not like that!
...Now I've fallen in love (with you)
It's got nothing to do with age difference
Senior, notice me"
It may feel long, this song, but for confessing how much this song is good at I may be stretching it too much. But this is one good song, that's for sure.
Rating: 4 stars (Fantastically Above Average)

(2) BraveSail
Didn't expect HoneyWorks to write a song for TrySail (well, they did for sphere too, but still), and this one fits them quite well, to say the least. Before I didn't have the mood to give this because this was released at the end of the year (you know, Klassic Note stuff), I thought this song was very closely themed to the adventure and sailing theme TrySail was known for, at least in name. After that, and giving it from the live performance video, I noticed it does suit them quite well. Despite it being a long melody too, this common melody does have its plus points. Well, apart from the usual song misses and very wordy lyrics which rather adequately describe the girls on an adventure, this song in itself is one iconic song for the group, at least, in name. Otherwise, you can enjoy this song as much as I said, now that I think this is a great tune to listen.
Rating: 4 stars (Nicely Average)

Conclusion: Overall I think it's okay for a single, but great because of the topic song. If you've never heard of how TrySail songs sound like, this can be a great place to start. Anime songs, songs about adventure... this is a complete package of understanding. Also, a package of great tunes to remember. Comparing it to their latest single "adrenaline!!!" though I wouldn't say this is great, but this is not your usual TrySail single. It's unusually long, and it's unusually good, so be sure to give this a listen.

AND NOT FORGETTING...!!! (Seriously what's with all the full stops on song titles lol)

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
TrySail - Original. [Single]
Limited Edition Anime Limited Edition Regular Edition
(I'm really liking these covers for some reason, even if they feel rather overexposed and aren't close  enough they have some character though and I don't mean Anime even though it's also great imo)

Origin: Wow this one is going to be a long story, so sit tight. It was about five months ago, where this released, and I immediately threw it in the trash. Yeah, rough start for a single, I would say. Fast forward to two weeks later (it's still February 2017) and I picked up the Anime "Demi-chan wa Kataritai" along with its opening theme song. Yes, it was them. That was how much I didn't give a first impression of this release. Not that it was bad, but after watching the Anime you'll feel the relevance of the pop music style represented in this single, I guess? And then there was the B-side. So second time round and also due to the live performance video it introduced me to this song once again, and that is how this ended on my shelf. What a journey huh, from being rejected to being accepted. It was as if this was meant to be. But it wasn't all because of the songs; it was because of mood. And this one has all of them.

(1) Original.
Being the topic song, the music style does bring a certain level of impact and pop despite being a theme song for the Anime "Demi-chan wa Kataritai", which, honestly saying was just a drama series, so... this was not necessary? Written and produced by familiar composer mito-sensei (I did talk about this in Aki-chan's best album), the song has its usual weaknesses an Anime theme song, including weak bridges and overall weak melody especially in verses. The lyrics also represent enough of what is of the Anime to be honest, which is quite a disappointment. But hey, an Anime theme song I can take. That's what I think of this song, to say the least.
Rating: 4 stars (Below Average)

(2) Chip log
Of course, the reason why this single came to be is with the B-side. Similar to the previous single, this song also had an adventure theme to it, and more that is written in the lyrics and ship stuff being fictionalised in some form. The music style though did throw me off at first impression just like "BraveSail", so this shouldn't be a surprise why only till now do I give the song. In terms of mood of the song I felt that this is more complete to be called an "adventure", as the lyrics literally describe a journey to find treasure, which was a joy to sing through. Also worth mentioning is the overall melody, which did not suffer major song faults because I liked the bridge part of the song even if it felt long. To compliment, thanks to virtualisation of this song from the video footage from the live performance, I have a better understanding how this song sounds. I'm not denying it; this is a rather good tune to go on a journey with.
Rating: 4 stars (Average)

Conclusion: A decent single, if not compared to the rest of the TrySail singles. On itself, it does have some positive points with it, because this is a very TrySail single, in terms of fitting music style and how the lyrics are thought out in general. Other than that, if you liked their music so far, this is another good release. Well, not until you've heard the next one, of course. Do not be thrown off by how it sounds though, it's still pretty well done.

-Kaineng, on the Klassic Note

THE PACKAGE
So, this was bundled in today's package that arrived today with Sumipe's new single, as you can see. That cardboard is what I received on hand, just in case you wondered what's inside.
Well, let me talk about what I should expect before showing anything first. Buying from Gamers Online Shop once again (remember Aki-chan's single in May?), I will expect special gifts from the latter single "Original." AND (this one is unprecedented) an image calendar as a gift from MusicRay'n (yes the talent and production company who host TrySail, sphere etc.) as a present for spending more than 2000yen in Gamers on their products ("Seiyuu Artist Fair", they call it), which is the reason why I didn't go further to find any other online store which may have the special gift photo for the HoneyWorks single because we know, it has been half a year. But this offer, I cannot miss. So yeah, you bet I got it because they know I was a good boy (lol)
As you can see (I don't think you can see the text behind haha), two singles, one photo, and a calendar at the back. So yeah, with all calendars must have an image on it, so... here's "SORA AMAMIYA". YES!
So relevant considering her new single just released this week! (not reviewing, but be sure to support her, yes?) (not in red, just because) (not in blue either, now that's weird haha) Okay let's take some time to take in the fact that it's also quality-printed that I want to bring it to school next month?? Yeah, it's for August too. Damn, now I have to put it in a clear file and take it out whenever I don't know of the date even though I school in a Surface Pro tablet which is a paperless medium and is also a computer that has a calendar lol

...

I wonder who's on July though hehe I have no idea tbh ARGH I WANT THEM ALL!!! WHY CAN'T THEY SHOW ME ALL OF THEM!!! haha

Okay, let's talk about the singles. In TrySail single stereotypical fashion, if you have not known of it the booklet inside reveals a full image of the trio. So yes, here's for the HoneyWorks single... (which is technically not theirs) (sorry for screwing up the label right above the booklet; you'll get what I mean when you see the next one?)
... And this is for their 5th single.
As usual, I like them close-ups. And did I mention about overexposure on the latter single? Yeah, that's turning me off already. Also, not close at all. Very disappointed at this point already. Oh yah, I'm here for the music, sorry xD

We're not done yet though. I deviated so much I almost forgot. I would like you guys to recall a certain something from when I bought Aki-chan's latest single two months ago from Gamers too, and yeah, remember the free magazine? IT'S BACK!
Showing official Twitter post because I'm not scanning this, but then again there isn't much for me to look at anyway. Okay, the cover was Anime "Gamers" and not to be confused with the shop, quite literally became their promotion shtick and also for their summer fair event which now requires minimum 5000yen spending (which is higher than the 3k from two months ago) and gives away Anime-related goods, from photos to posters and stuff. Maximum 50k for Anime "Eromanga-sensei" blanket lol so many offers (this is the only thing worth mentioning anyway, sorry I don't know the girl on the Seiyuu Paradise preview)

Wow this is a long one. Imagine if I didn't cut this one from Sumipe's single review. You'll probably just scroll down until you see "THE PACKAGE", right? Haha I knew it. Anyways, I'm done for today, and this week. Cya guys for Entertainment News come Sunday night, yes? Until then... I need to rest my fingers. Oh, I haven't watched "Gamers" yet? Ugh, I've got enough of that word today already haha

The Klassic Note Review 2017.07 Issue 2

Hey, happy Friday everyone. And yes, with the weekend dawning upon us I'm excited to talk about new reviews! Well, I've decided then to split into two posts so I can talk about Sumipe and TrySail separately, so don't be surprised to not see the latter artist below. The next one will appear shortly, yes?

Talk about new releases, this one is definitely the last thing that should be on my shelf. How did it even chance its way into Klassic Note? Let's find out.

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
Uesaka Sumire - Odore! Kyuukyoku Tetsugaku [Single]
Limited Edition Regular Edition
(I like how I'm not concerned about close-up shots because now I'm interested in chest shots haha you don't know Sumipe if you don't get this)

Origin: Wow I don't even know how to start. You guys may know of voice actress and solo music singer Uesaka "Sumipe" Sumire, but I don't. Because for as much as I've seen her chest more than her (we shall not discuss that here), she is greatly interested in weird music styles and Russia? Yeah, she knows of the Russian language, as seen from her blog and Twitter posts. So when did this all start? Let's see... it's only from like, last year? Yeah, only from then did she grab my attention with Anime "KONOBI" as Colette, but even then the pace did not keep up for long. I was greatly disappointed in her ending theme song despite the hype for it (smartphone music video, acceptable song style etc.), but her image stayed within me. Besides the occasional attention she keeps getting on Twitter, that's as much as she got from me. Until now. Her newest 8th single ever since her debut in 2013 and also a new one since a year ago, has many reasons for me to take a listen. Firstly, the show "Uesaka Sumire no Yabai Maru Maru" is a thing. I won't surprise you on what show it's about, but suffice it to say it's her personality TV show (yeah) to talk about stuff in general that feels weird, which will explain why the title of the show is named as dangerous or terrible or maybe both. Of course, it's also a pitch for the parent company King Records to promote their artists and content, but I swear, I didn't get hit from any of it. (Okay, maybe Minase Inori, but that's it!) Three months down and they mentioned about a single release with this unlikely theme song. Add on with an ending theme song from current running Anime "Aho Girl"... this is pretty much where it all started. But how can such a compelling release ever hit the shelf of Klassic Note? This one, I may have to enlighten you all further in order to convince even myself of the reality that this is a worthy single to give.

(1) Odore! Kyuukyoku Tetsugaku [Dance! Ultimate Philosophy]
Firstly, the topic song. This one was easy to give, for starters. It had a straightforward melody, and from first impressions which came in the form of a multi-level mobile site-based music video in which you can swipe to see different versions of Sumipe dancing and stuff (it's just a YouTube video FYI). Quite impressive to say the least. Production-wise then I feel a lot of nostalgia backwards music style from the 80s or 90s somehow, but I'm not complaining. I praise this song for having an easy-listening melody because for Sumipe, this is actually a rarity especially if you browse through her song list. Otherwise, you'd be pleased to know that I like this song and have been listening to it actively ever since. The lack of a long bridge part of a song is surprising, but as I said, the outdated music style is overwriting everything this song is not lacking, which is rather fine by my opinion. All in all, if this song wants to make Sumipe dance, so would I. And so should you. But seriously, very out of today's music style, I would say.
Rating: 4 stars (Safely Average)

(2) Yabai Maru Maru [Dangerous XX; The circle is an expression of censored/unknown word(s)]
And yes, this is the most compelling song I have to give in the list, and let's talk about why. It started of - as mentioned above at the start of the review - as just a theme song of a TV show I can totally ignore, but ended up catching my attention much longer down the road. To say this song itself is "dangerous" may be an understatement, because this song has quite a lot of ticks on the songs I refuse to give: the melody is off, there's plenty of speech compared to singing in a song, Sumipe is not cute in this song (lol), and the list goes on. To give reasons to why I give this song may likely attribute to the fact that (1) I have watched half the season of the TV show to be in acquaintance with the song, but most importantly is (2) getting used to Sumipe's voice. Because for a long time (at least a year) I've been struggling of giving this voice actress and her uniquely cute voice any credit until now. And that, I guess, is the best reason I would give. To top it up I would also say the lyrics are rather relevant to portraying how much she is living on the edge mocking music production in general lol and how much the song is about her liking such people and things... Then again it's advisable even to myself, that you shouldn't listen to this song for too much ie. take your dosages sparingly. Because for the short song, cute voice and some singing and outstanding music style this song will give me a headache, literally.
Rating: 4 stars (Dangerously Below Average)

(3) Saisentan Girl feat. Uchida Maaya [Leading Edge Girl]
To summarise this song in a phrase, I would say "a great collaborative Anison that should be sung live" because really, this is what I may have missed from Anison all these years. Something easy to listen to, the lyrics are fairly relevant to what is leading edge, and thanks to fellow voice actress and solo singer Uchida Maaya if you have not heard her before because I didn't lol, Sumipe's cute pitch is complimented by a slightly softer voice, which in first impression did help a lot in giving this song off the bat. Other than that, I like how this song is adequately long yet does not spoil the song in any major way like song structure or the main melody itself. There is even just a short conversation between the two in the middle of the song to talk about what it means to be "leading edge", which I like. The melody may be an easy giveaway to how this ends up on the list, but I must say this collaboration between the two voice actress may not be a bad one. Now I really want to hear this in the upcoming Anime festival "Anisama". Here, I said it.
Rating: 4 stars (Anison-Level Average)

Conclusion: Overall, an okay single, if not for me having less of a choice to give because I'm already halfway in when I took a listen to this release. I guess the audio preview online did help to some extent, but this one. I've definitely heard more compelling releases than this, so Sumipe don't get too surprised because you aren't exclusively terrible. Otherwise you'd be glad to know if you liked Anime songs this one shouldn't be a miss. With this much song credit and even an artist collaboration, you cannot go wrong with this single. Even without them, I would say the topic song is worthy of praise, and thanks Uchida Maaya for making this single even better. Uesaka Sumire, you have done it. You're on my shelf now. You're welcome.

THE PACKAGE
Where should I start first... Okay, let's start with an image:
So yeah this came in with the same package (because I consolidated it even if it's from different online shops) as with the other two TrySail singles (which I will review later), but we'll leave that side aside first. Let's talk about what happened for Sumipe's purchase hehe
Special gift this time considering it's been a week since release and it's selling pretty well online, I got mine from TOWER RECORDS, and because I can't be disappointed at anything that is signed on (lol), I chose an image of Sumipe without a chest. (Audience: WHAT???) Yeah, compelling, very "dangerous", but I don't really mind. Besides, I can always take more close-ups. As usual, I thought of it a lot. But man, won't you see that dress she wears on the release cover? Haha, the cut is just perfect. Just perfect, that slope. *wink*
Other than the release itself, TOWER RECORDS seems to have something up their sleeve. They're doing a summer campaign where they're giving out prizes to those who can answer their questionnaire without any mistakes. Well, you can check out the survey online if you want because I got a paper version of it and I don't intend to deposit it on any "nearby stores" haha but yeah, I saw some of the questions. One was "How many times has the RISING ROCK FESTIVAL been held?", so yeah, I know you can search it online (it's the 18th this year, since 1999) but yeah, that's as far as I can go lol. You can go try it yourself anyway. It's a chance to be one of the... 23 people to get prizes? But yeah, some festival goods bundle or if you're selected for the special TOWER RECORDS prize which is just a glass cup. *laughs* Okay I shouldn't mock on this campaign already. I'm done. The SUMMERFES'17 campaign lasts from now to September, so if you want to try, go ahead. I'll not post answers btw

Or maybe I should hehe we shall see I got the paper anyway haha

This is it for now. Stay tuned for the other review where I'll take a time machine back to review two singles from TrySail, after I've reviewed their latest from last two months ago. Cya guys there then.

P.S. This is not #ad or whatever, but be sure to check out Sumipe's Twitter account for more. Well, more like, for more information because of a recent court case concerning a fan death threat they've "combined" all related accounts to one official Twitter account now. So yeah, no luck for you all then. I've seen it for year so I know. MUAHAHAHAHA man I wish I could've written about how great her Twitter account is here right now

P.P.S. Okay there's still her LINE BLOG if you're that interested in her standing pose haha God I can't stop

Thursday 27 July 2017

I keep regretting the decisions I make in life. Then again, I like to make bad decisions.

I bought something again. Amongst a weird run of unexpected events, it somehow still was within my expectations. I got what I want, but instead of not paying, I ended having to pay more because the item was on sale (and you know gift vouchers are not to be used with any other promotions) but hey, it was still a hefty discount. So yes, thanks to whoever gave me that voucher after I bought something and have to worry about what to buy for the past couple of weeks lol

The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #30

Someday I'm going to be be so lazy I'll not even do an intro. But then again I did think of doing it like a magazine style such that an intro may not be necessary? Argh, it's okay. This is compensation for not writing any post about my life for like, the past few years. I mean, I know the tag is there. I know.

アニメ Koi to Uso
But seriously Ririna, as Teresaka said, they're gonna kiss until you care. You okay with that? I mean, I know I won't, considering there's black and white to back my rights up haha
The new episode (#KoiToUso03) is trying to make me stop watch this show. I mean, I'll talk about that really weird kiss later, but first. The episode talks about Ririna making the prospective couple meet together once again, even though their fates have been decided and Ririna should have already gotten over the fact that she's going to be with this... I don't want to insult Nejima, but suffice it to say she wants to watch people kiss. I mean, I don't really care? Yeah, right. I swear if they send you an image of them kissing every day someone will be pissed. (or if the phone gets taken away by someone besides Ririna lol) (yeah I meant the government) On the other hand, Nejima is enjoying heaven, as he is being kissed by Teresaka-san and... his friend Nisaka? Okay, I know what you're thinking. But instead of thinking that the most popular guy in school might be gay (lol), I would like to think of it as "I took your kiss back from Teresaka" or whatever. And it's not because he loves her, because we know the context clearly. There, I said it. Then again, I never read the original story so I wouldn't know, and it seems the preview is really trying to fish me into watching this show in its entirety. I guess I would watch for now because the only distracting thing is the kissing (so, so intense lol), and there's a lot more than this story than expected drama plots, I hope. I've been guessing quite a lot of it up till now. Not until I noticed Nisaka was gay haha
Quite literally the summary of the first half of the episode.
You know, you don't have to kiss to make me like this show
P.S. I mean, what's the worse I can smell? Your- (Okay I better stop here this is a kid-friendly blog lol) I'd like to think if any of them think the other stinks though, but seriously, isn't that an obstacle just because the girl is okay with it? No really Teresaka, you don't know how much Nejima jerked off in the changing room haha
P.P.S. Also, you bet I thought of whether to make a large image over this episode's image. But nah, this show doesn't deserve that much after all haha

アニメ Aho Girl
Wow, another half-length? They running out of content, running out of production time or running out of manpower? I'm not going to guess because I'm no genius haha
The new shorter episode (#AhoGirl03) talks about the mother, who apparently is making that idiot in the genetics (I don't want to know who the father is haha), is probably as weird of a woman as she is. Talking about torture and being a b*tch, she suspects Sayaka of stealing the only man that idiot would have hopes of marrying in order for the mother to not have to worry for the rest of her life haha. I guess that's reasonable, but man, no panties from Sayaka I guess hehe. On other things, Yo  (oops) that idiot tamed a stray dog in front of the kids OMG, Sayaka literally broke her wallet and her soul in order to thank the guy who made that idiot taste great locally produced banana (god, I pity the sane woman here) (also Satou-san, thanks for the story haha), and disappointed over his results, Akkun gor a real beating. From that idiot after learning from the mother. Well, we don't have to say who wins here, but Akkun's sister saw everything lol
Hard work and determination may come in many forms, but this is the purest.
I need to reconsider my life again lol
P.S. I'm so sorry to not notice that this show only runs half-length. Turns out I'm the idiot haha then again how can I still laugh this much every week?
P.P.S. Okay to be honest I'm not really liking the voice of Akkun (Tomokazu Sugita) even though I know of him. But hey, I hope idiots didn't chose his voice. (oops) On the other hand, Yocchan (Hikasa Youko) voiced the mother perfectly (even though she gave away when she shouts; the voice is real obvious there), and yeah, she has experience on that too haha *wink* Seitokai Yakuindomo

アニメ Tsurezure Children
(Sorry for doing this again, but yeah, this and Aho Girl are shorter series. Who would've known? Their budget running low or are they trying to make it further with sales? I guess we'll never know. Not used to watching shows this short though. Maybe.)
The new episode (#TsurezureChildren03) brings us more romantic confession scenes, so let's talk about it. (I swear it's only three but there's hell a lot to talk about) (Once again I don't remember everyone so pardon the couple references instead of mentioning the names) First we have the Chiaki couple. Wow this one. They do friend like they mean to, they sync so well, they go out so often together the whole class thinks they're going steady, but... they aren't. Hey, someone summed up your show for you, random romance comedy Anime haha. That, but in no seriousness, means they are together now by any means, but hey, they can but hope. I mean, someone crying means it's serious already, right? Talking about crying, someone got rejected again. The Katori "couple" (because I wouldn't say so) is actually just about a senior making a junior happy so she can be by his side that much longer, but this one... I don't feel it. Okay, besides the violence, yes? The third of the couples sure is your stereotypical awkward guy being hero once in a while scenario (which is nothing like me *wink*). The Yamane couple (or until the girl mentioned about the name) sure is awkward, sure sounds like someone returning a favour for the one thing you helped resolved even though it feels like nothing (I mean, I don't live in well-mannered, favour-returning Japan anyway so what do I know?), sure sounds like a dream the guy rather wake up to so be can feel normal again... but yeah, it's not. I like emotional roller coasters like this, even though it's pretty much the one guy who's riding on it lol. Last but not least, remember Takano, the serious girl? The Sugawara couple are up to antics again, this time the guy willingly helps her out in cleaning even though he has club activities in his upcoming schedule. Besides the obvious misunderstanding of cleaning compared to cleaning up relationship gaps, this also has a couple of word puns if I didn't hear wrongly. Anyways, it's fun to see how this goes in the future (please make these couples get together somehow), and I'll be looking forward to that.
First time seeing Niconama comments in the background of a fugly face video lol
P.S. Haha I said she gave zero f***s when she walks away and then I was wrong. The urge for violence in an Anime is so... compelling. Ask Anime Aho Girl's "Akkun" for details.
P.P.S. In all seriousness, the only thing I've learnt from this show is that if you want a chance of success in relationships you have to do it in person. Sorry, whoever the two girls I confessed to through online messaging. I really am "a useless man". (<- #だめな男)

アニメ Gamers!
Wow, TWO plot twists? You don't have to be this good, Anime. Now I HAVE to watch the next episode to find out more.
The new episode (#Gamers02) of this series is continuing to excel at what it presents best, and I'm surprised. Coming back from being rejected into the game club, Tendou decides to ask again only to be done for once more, but then this time with public impact. Of course we cannot forget our other main guy of the episode Tasuku, and that he has a past. Quite a big one, in fact. I know revealing everything at once may be a throw off by now, but hey, he was a geek just like Amano too. Well, just that he doesn't sound gay and took action to make himself popular with the others after noticing that playing alone is boring. Well, "get a life", they say. "Make effort to get friends to play with", they say. I like how this show aims properly at all the stereotypes on the first cliffhanger scene between Amano and Tasuku (or Uehara if you like, but to me "Uehara-kun" sounds super gay lol) (yes I know of the feminine lingo) such that you get to hear everything bombared in your ear but at the same time be masked with comedy such that it won't blow up your mind in all seriousness. That's great and all, but the focus may not be that, because we covered that somehow last week. So yeah, the episode took another effort at targeting Tasuku's past by bringing his super cute girlfriend, and that they have noticed each other since middle school, when they were both nerds. It's good to see Tasuku get back in the game again *wink*, but then will that be related to the Gamer Club? Now that Tendou just wants to ask Amano out, but not to join the club? Hey, if I've hooked you in just as how I got hooked on this not Sword Art Online show, then you should join. I'm not going to be a super cute girl to egg you on though haha
Yeah, you bet that's a stalker haha
Or else why would pretty girls appear in game centers?
P.S. I'll not show the love-struck face of Tendou-san (because I'm not a manboy and am totally gender straight), but if that's a reason to watch romance Anime, I'M IN! *laughs* But really, I'm liking how not everyone should be the main focus of every episode, ie. there are several main characters. Boy, cant wait to see what's next now she's triple rejected lol
P.P.S. In terms of theme songs, I'm more inclined to give the Anison opening theme song than the... I don't know why it's so bad ending theme. Really, who writes these songs? KOTOKO-san, I feel bad for you writing the lyrics because I'm not going to like it

漫画 Tsurezure Children
YEP! Even though I'm only three episodes in for the Anime, I've decided I'm going to love this story as much as how... everyone likes each other in the story haha. Then again, it was a decision. This is also the first e-book I've purchased, and considering this is volume 1 (licensed by Kobunsha itself) I'm reading and I'll only talk about the first eight chapters because the next one is spoiler... yeah. The first eight chapters are firstly, faithfully followed by the Anime, which makes of original content being represented at its finest, without much distraction or filler content which Anime is famous of. Then again, the comedy and pitches are as good as the Anime has done, spanning from the various parts of the first few episodes I've watched so far. This means I've gone statgazing, runninig in the rain, joking around about going out, saved a girl from a molester, kissed a smoker, and waited every day for that girl to confess once again. *laughs* All in all, the manga is real and I thank the Anime again for religiously producing the original work, making this my favourite this season already. And with the manga, I may, in the future, continue on this path to talk about it, this time, without the help of online scans. I know this is going to be worth it!
<no image thumbnail because of copyright, and I'm going to respect that>
P.S. Damn they destroyed the "senpai-koukai-understand?" joke from the latest episode. Yeah, licensing manga is a b*tch. They like to rephrase everything so it doesn't feel like an original work lol
P.P.S. I'm really pleased about the silhouettes at the front of each chapter to symbolise an obvious pose or trait of one of the people involved in the story itself. For example, with Yamane (that dork who saved Chiyo from a molester) the silhouette is his iconic googly eyes hehe

漫画 A Channel
Haha the new chapter (97) talks about Tanabata, ie. 7th July, or in easier terms if you live on the other side of the planet than me, Eastern Lover's Day. Not to be confused with the one and only Valentine's Day, this one is also similar but it's... well in short it's about a couple getting together, drawn by the clouds in the sky to meet on a "bird bridge", even though I have no idea what species that is lol. (Wow I suck at culture) Anyways, the girls do some wishes (nothing to do with love unsurprisingly), well more than some because you can always have more, but I guess it's just another story to show how differently unique the girls are in general haha Run-chan
Serious Tooru is cool. Not going to spoil what she wrote though hehe

漫画 Dagashi Kashi
The latest chapter (68) talks about smoking. Yeah right you thought it was too, right? Haha if you did go kill yourself lol. Hotaru tries to be mature once again, only to be just issuing a trivia challenge yet again to Kokonotsu about his knowledge on the dagashi Milk Caramel. I mean, the Endou "sisters" are right - who gives a sh*t if there's a flavour which is a nickname of you? Okay, I'm not being matured enough here
No, that is MOST DEFINITELY NOT tobacco.
I mean, the last time I see an Anime character smoke is..

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
(*mouse over images represent releases I did get to review)
This week... come on, you know about he review. The review! You mean, you haven't listened to Toyosaki Aki's best album yet?? Oh, you busy listening to G-FREAK FACTORY's new single which I haven't gotten my hands on yet? Then again, I got something else. vivid undress' latest mini-album got into review despite it being a store-only release, and honestly? I think they have potential. Not much is hitting me, but I'm giving another song, so that's a good start.

On other news, you'd be glad to know I'm going to be reviewing not one, not two, but three singles next week. Mostly nostalgia trip because of TrySail's latest live video release (none from ClariS though) (and Aki-chan's live I've heard like, everything), and hey, it's Uesaka Sumire's new single!! No, I don't care about her recent death threat case, I said already. But yeah, that is going to be one awkward review. I'm rehearsing on what I should type even as I type now lol. So yeah, stay tuned for those next week. I need to finish these before school starts otherwise I won't have time for this haha

On other news, VELTPUNCH released a new live-only single (now you see why?) during their latest live which I cannot attend (dammit!) and I ended up brainwashing their songs on Apple Music, Yuuki Aoi is returning for a major label solo music career which also means she has a staff Twitter where she can openly flirt with Ayachi now haha I mean you don't need examples they are everywhere. negoto is coming out with a new single soon, and ClariS... let's just say they did "show face", as our lingo would say. Not totally though, but I'll take that.

*silence*

I'll take that, I guess.
This, and that part where the two sing in unison without music. That, is all I have waited for. Maybe.

On other other things, I don't really care if they are releasing a photobook with those masks on. Remember what Klassic Note is for? Anticipation of the truth only to be disappointed with reality haha

This is it then. Now that I have dug up the stuff about ClariS I was thinking about at the start of the week, I may be think about it now again. I need to calm myself down already. Cya guys then, and until next time... I'm counting down. To the end of my freedom. And yeah, I did think about APoL, trust me.

The Klassic Note Review 2017.07 Issue 1

It could have been yesterday. I'm literally dipped in TrySail from remembering their live performance and probably making sure this isn't the only issue this month already *wink*, and now I've no mood to do this. Oh well, I'll get into the mood.

*After review* Okay I'm good now. Let's get to it! Yay Aki-neechan!! Haha guess what's playing on my music player now lol

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
Toyosaki Aki - love your Best [Album]
Limited Edition Regular Edition 12-inch Vinyl Limited Edition
(No seriously, they all look the same to me, even in vinyl. Thanks for the close-ups anyway; very much appreciated haha. Personally prefer the one on the left for some reason, and everything in the booklet hehe)

Origin: We all are not unfamiliar with Toyosaki Aki. I say this again because you should get some acquaintance with this lovely, unique, and interestingly cute voice. There, I said it. Apart from me being quite a fan of this Anime voice actress, I also dwell into her world of music, where she started her solo music career eight years ago during her birthday week. Today, she is still well remembered in Klassic Note despite me listening to new songs continuously for ten years already (#KN10YEARS), but I must say she was a good addition. Something I didn't regret letting her in on. A collection worthy artist, to say the least. And now, we remember her great tunes in this great collection she handpicked herself it seems, and see my extent of immersion in her songs.

[Review Notes: For this particular release I will change my format, and instead of quoting from previous reviews I'll quote lyrics from various parts of the songs, translate them (you're welcome), and discuss about how they all fit her, and why it may be her choices for the many songs she sung.]

(Again, pardon my translations; This is Klassic Note, not Japanese learning school. I do to the best of my limited abilities)

(1) Issennen no Sanpo Chuu [During A Thousand-Year Walk]
From the chorus:
"'Say, we are nothing
But this hand (of ours) can do anything from here on'
And so I taught (that to) you"
This song is teaching me something. In this long walk. In this long stroll we have all been through, and I think this song means something. It immediately caught my attention as one of the better songs in her third album, and today stays as her radio broadcast ending theme song, which means a lot to all of us. If Aki-chan were to teach us something, is probably that we are not alone. That we may be nothing, but we can do wonders, just like her. And for that, I feel thankful once again. Thanks Andou Yuuko for writing so many great tunes including this one, to help us feel what she feels.
Rating: 4 stars (Above Average)

(2) SHUN PU [trans. Spring Wind]
From the first chorus:
"You smile in this spring day
Blossoming, blossoming are the cherry blossom flowers
One, two, three, four (of them)
Counting the happiness as the (petal of) flowers dance"
Ah, this song has so many feels. I mean, if you didn't like any of her songs, this will be the only saving grace. Because this, is THE BEST SONG in her list. Fans guaranteed, including me. Simple in melody, lyrics are easy to remember. Such happiness, such loveliness, coupled with a wonderfully cute voice, you cannot not love this song. Which is pretty much my first impression too, and till today hasn't changed. I am still, like the others, loving and always, without fail, singing to this song every time she performs this song. And this is testament to how much love there is in her songs. This one, in particular, has touched many hearts.
Rating; 4 stars (Unsurprisingly Above-Average Great)

(3) Shamrock
From first verse:
"(I) shout out from the window, let's have a secret talk
(With) the train that passes, counting the colors, (we) shall go outside"
"The underdog", interpreted as I peek on the previous album review, and I can see why. It's averagely everything. Simple, happy, a song that feels like Aki-chan taking on a stroll again... how can you not feel at home? I never doubted this song was great, but it definitely didn't click too much on me. But it sure is a lovely song, and descriptively nice I would describe, are the lyrics too. Overall a wonderful tune, which is no wonder Aki-chan has taken a liking to it too. I like too, really.
Rating: 4 stars (Unknowingly Average)

(4) Kataomoi no Theme [Theme of One-Sided Love]
From first verse:
"Can't, can't, can't be true to myself
Darn, (when) you're in front (of me)
Being a cute girl would be great
Again, falling in love, (I) can't say it out but
The feelings of affection, I can't hide (from you)"
Before there was love, there must be infatuation. I guess this is what the song wants to try to pass on to us. For the cute Aki-chan who has not been able to convey her feelings, this song gives a more direct approach and making it feel like a love confession scene, which is likely not the case. Nonetheless, the song spells of love all over the place, and we should always love her back, yes? For such a wonderful, cute and simple melody and straightforward lyrics, "I love you" Aki-chan.
Rating: 4 stars (Cutely Average)

(5) Clover
From intro verse:
"All the memories crammed, into my very small treasure
Up till now (whatever is) inside my heart, (will) always, always shine"
This one. This literally ticks all the available blanks I can give and expect from Aki-chan's songs, considering this is the third album coming, and this one is so great. Diving into the lyrics, it gets even better. The lyrics just perfectly describe the many years she can been singing thankful songs, treasuring every single one like so, and feeling happy about music in general. That, this song has covered all the ground. Coming into the best album, this one hits me even further. Now that I truly treasure her songs, this best album is a testament to how much I like of her music, and if there's way to say it all, this song can do it for me. I, for one, am satisfied. And it's not even a love song. Saying thanks is enough to make me blush.
Rating: 5 stars (Perfectly Awesome)

(6) Orion to Spangle [Orion and Spangle]
From first chorus:
"(I) look up to see the Orion "mist" likely seeing a squall of shooting stars
Going out without an umbrella and spinning around, let's go to the park"
God, this song. Being one of the most compelling songs in the list, this one had a rough time getting into the list, and I'll say it again. It's a song of celebration, no doubt, it's a song to sing to, but it's not a song for her. Maybe a miss, I suppose, but this doesn't feel like Aki-chan. Of course, on exploring the music styles she can take, I would wonder if this is one of those considerations. Then again, this song is as cheeky *wink* as herself I guess, and it still feels very like her as I hear it today. Very happy, slightly cute, makes you think of festivities... what could be better?
Rating: 4 stars (Somehow Below Average)

(7) Shirotsumekusa [White Clover]
From second chorus:
"When happy, when lonely, there is (always) that location
(Where) words I can leave aside
Little by little, little by little, (I) grow up, (I) have only one wish"
For making a flower the title, this song has many emotions bottled up in it, ready to deliver. I mean, for the many years Aki-chan has been singing, this also belongs to one of those tunes which are relaxing, reminiscent, and full of gratefulness. That, is so stereotypical of Aki-chan, it hits me almost immediately back in 2012. For being loved this long, I will never forget how much she has delivered, and this one, she delivers more than ever. So simple, so lovely. I can't get enough of this tune, seriously.

[P.S. If anyone can find out what she wishes for and tell me that'll be much appreciated]

(8) Hozuki [Ground Cherry]
From first chorus:
"This beautiful power that is summer
Turns the child us into forever (in memories)
This beautiful structure that is love
The moment of dreams in dreams, (as if) is in the time with God"
As I have probably mentioned, this is likely the unlikely summer song. Why? Because it feels so relaxed, so inactive, unlike so many summer songs out there. And that, I give it credit. It may have been a song easy to forget, but the style of the music is making it really memorable in the list of Aki-chan songs. Really, all I want to do is to play this in instrumental (like those in singles) and listen to this under the summer shelter. That, is an image of summer that you can never forget. So much environmental feels will quite literally, make you love summer again.

(9) Dill
From first verse:
"Even now, (I'm) totally, totally, lack of confidence
But, (I) still believe, (in) this chest there is, (a) rhythm"
Wow, this song that created an impact. For being the 3rd single back in 2010, this song did create an impact. For feeling so much like the emotional pop that many composers feel niche to, this one created its unique feel, tempo and lyrics. No longer do we talk about happiness and thanks, but we focus on weakness and gratefulness. Still honest, but this one, the lyrics say it all. For the melody, I expected back then to only sound like what is in the first chorus. Like, a repeat of sorts; your usual pop melody. But this song blew me off with an alternative tune, and using Aki-chan's unusual voice and whisper, she quite literally talked me into liking this song. Satisfaction, and thanks, but in a different way.

(10) Patapa
From first chorus:
"As if thrown out (to the open), hands stretched widely, without wavering and shouting of love
Someday your eyes will not only reveal the one thing
That much I have always believed
Just like that, we step out (to the open) once again"
If you thought of rain when you see the title, I thought so too. But it's more than a beautiful tune. It has much meaning within. Learning from the lyrics, it's yet again in Aki-chan's aspiration to reach out, be happy, walk out a path of the future. A song of confidence, and a song of confession. And that, she sings happily with her style. This song, I can never forget. I mean, hit the intro and I'll be humming the voices right on beat. That's how much I loved this song back in 2013.

(11) Kanae Tamae [Wish Come True]
From first verse:
"The same future, (I) would like to share with (you)
Accepting love like this (we) can surely grow up
Can't believe that it's impossible to not understand what is surely (love)"
"Love song". If Aki-chan were to ever confess to us using music at any point, it is going to be this one. Standing strong as the best love song since 2014, it may be an intentional pitch for Aki-chan to profess to the many fans about her feelings or thanks and love, and this one exhibited it rather fantastically. This one, I will never complain. The single itself presents itself somehow in a bigger image of being together in the future, but I'll not talk about how the B-side never got into this list. Still, if you still want to feel some treasured love from Toyosaki Aki, you still can, because this has everything. She has sent the message. And someday, I would like to return the favour.

(12) letter writer
From intro verse:
"Gathered (your) thoughts, that are delivered, (the) heart feels so filled but
Searching for words, (I wonder) what do I actually want to hear..."
This must be how it feels when you write fan letters or reply them, if you're one of them or Aki-chan herself of course. The feeling where so much emotion is kept within ourselves, and how honest we can be in writing letters or even tell how we feel when we listen to her songs, be with her, supporting her all the way in her career (as a voice actor too)... it's all in this song, actually. It means a lot for them, for many who have really went all the way to make her a popular success. I think I did too, in my effort to keep listening to new songs. But for me, since I don't write letters, I can only feel. And I guess I can feel it. Maybe you can too. To her it means everything. To us, it might just mean a little more than that.

(13) Kimi ni Arigatou [Thanks To You]
From last chorus:
"Thanks, for you always being on my side and smiling
For days (I) cry, for days (I) felt lost, for sure (I) can overcome them all
As always, (I) never forget, the warm passion from you
For days (I want) to meet, for days (I) felt lonely, (I) just look at the sky
(For you who) have always protected (me), (I) give my thanks to you"
Technically Aki-chan's first emotional song. Being a piano piece, this one fits feelings hard. And yes, it's another song about her singing her thanks. This one, being so simple in melody, relies a lot on its lyrics, and it didn't disappoint. Because it has all the faucets of how she feels, and whatever is bottled up inside. This, is enough to make me tear up. I recall in her first album live performance where she did a piano solo of this song, and yeah, it brings up all the sadness and desperation within. I believe it can touch hearts too, since it touched mine. Be thankful to Aki-chan is all I can ask for all these years. Once again, thanks to you, Aki-chan. Your footing will never be forgotten. Also thanks to Oku Hanako for such a touching tune so that she can convey her feelings.

(14) music
From first chorus:
"Ah now, wings of (the) heart open, believe in me
La la la, (I) sing, (a) song of happiness
With all (my) voice
(I) deliver to the sky, la la la"
This is just a happy song, isn't it? Thanks Tsuji Ayano again for the song, because this one just makes anybody smile. And I guess at that point after the first album where composers "tested" of  her voice then decided to changer her direction in music, and out comes this. Man, back in 2012 this was the best song from her list. I can recall myself not being able to stop listening and recalling this wonderful tune, and I think you'll like it too. Produced by a team with a weird name with familiar names of Kotoringo, Tsuji Ayano, mito etc. which will make you feel right at home with how great this song fits Aki-chan in its entirety. The music video is also something to remember, as the lyrics support so much of what the image can be, from balloons to singing notes. This, is indeed, a happy song.

(15) love your life
From the first chorus:
"Today's sun is shining, (I) can live on; just that, I can taste happiness
Everything (my) eyes can see, thank you; I'll live on, (with) everyday new, while searching for songs"
This is it, man. The song that started everything. I can't thank the composer Rie fu (now Rie, in UK) enough for this, for this made Aki-chan who she is now, along with songs like SHUN PU. Along with the lyrics show how much honesty there is in her, and her wanting to be thankful, be happy, and be singing the new songs. This, is quite literally the emblem of Klassic Note I should follow. Other than that, we feel once again the unbelievably cute voice of Aki-chan back in 2009 (God, time flies), and how much different it feels hearing her sing today. And that, is what makes this first song so pivotal to her music career.
Rating: 4 stars (Nostalgically Above Average)

(16) Neko ni Naru [To Become (A) Cat]
From first chorus:
"I may not have name yet, because I'm (just a) cat (who) doesn't know
Someday I'll join hands with you, to become a useful person"
Ah, actually, a song that will nurture us. Hey, I may sound weird, but in all honesty, that's what I think the song is trying to convey. Unless you believe the song is all about cats, you might just be wrong. Being the only new song in this best album release, Aki-chan has maturely presented this new tune to us, and it feels as happy as the many songs she has sung thus far. It might just be the best closure to the eight years she has been singing songs, even though at first impression for a best album I expected something more emotional (I mean, you placed the best song at the end already), but this one would do too. I like a happy song. And Aki-chan's happy songs, I can never get enough.
Rating: 4 stars (Average)

Conclusion: All in all, a great selection from Aki-chan, which is precisely the reason I would review this best album. And I swear it's not because I pretty much listened to every song from her, but giving her unique voice and the melodies that stem out from her needs no reason. For so many years of listening to her songs, she has the softest, cutest, and possibly most identifiable voice out of the artists I know of. And that, it'll be forever for me to remember. And looking into the future and recent music releases, I have cause to believe Toyosaki Aki will reach new heights. Not that I'm dissatisfied with her songs, because I cannot ask for more. This image she created for her solo music career is so nice, I wish it would last for eternity. It's time to love every single part of her music now, and for time to come.

-Kaineng, on the Klassic Note

THE OPINION - TOYOSAKI AKI (2017)
Firstly, in all honesty because I am one and Aki-chan is honest about her solo music career for the most part (I mean, company business is not under her control), you would notice there are only a couple of 5-star songs from this list (namely "Clover" from 3rd album and "Patissiere" from 2nd single), despite me talking about how much I liked the tunes. This is because Aki-chan doesn't come up as an impression typically due to the fact that the songs she sings aren't delivering much impact (eg. fast/loud rock tunes) or aren't filled with extreme emotion (think very emo songs, pop and rock) which in the end didn't leave much of an impression. That is to say I didn't like them too, but it takes some time to get used to, and I eventually have grown to like them. This easily explains why you can see Aki-chan on the ranks every year she appears on the list. This is because I've always liked her songs, and want to place her in the ranks to give recognition, even though it's not much as she hardly hits the top. Her placement in Klassic Note's Top 20 is as follows: (subject to overall list songs' performance)

  • 2010: 16th - "Patisserie"
  • 2011: 13th - "Kataomoi no Theme"[M2], 20th - "SHUN PU" [M4] (yep)
  • 2012: 12th - "Shirotsumekusa" [M7]
  • 2013: 16th - "Patapa" [M10]
  • 2014: 17th - "Kanae Tamae" [M11]
  • 2016: 19th - "Clover" [M5] (yep, yep)
This is also in line with how much I want to keep this going for her, especially considering her songs may be hard to give from time to time. However, it has been proven easier compared to same company artist Kotobuki Minako which got cut out of the pre-ordering spree late 2014 with her second album. This shows that Aki-chan is actually a lot easier to give due to the many factors I mention in the review, and honestly saying that couldn't have been more timely. Even after the third album do I find myself easily giving new songs from her, or even from the latest single which I criticised heavily on the review, talking about how weak the whole song is... Despite all that, and I'm still here, trying to give every single song from my beloved. This, Mina-chan is not catching up with.

To end on a light note, I noticed on this compilation that even though it's Aki-chan's personal selection, it isn't as ideal as what I would expect. (You should've seen my face when the first song was "Ginga Station", which has been changed since then) Aki-chan has many other great hits besides the ones on the review, some appear on the Vinyl Edition (no, not "CHEEKY"), some didn't. For example, I was awoken by one single "Flip Flop" from back in 2013, and I swear is the best single I've reviewed thus far due to how easy I can give both the songs. The B-side in particular which sounds like a cat song, could've been in the list, or even "Flip Flop" itself. Also, Aki-chan's love for Chara-sensei has not been shown in this list too, for she wrote "LiLi A LiLi" for her 2nd album. Another one I would like it to be in the list is "Tomato", following up from the love confession that is "Kanae Tamae", which did make it in. Did I even mention her best emotional song "Portrait" is in neither compilation? How did this happen, seriously. On the other hand, songs which shouldn't make the list, in my opinion, are actually "music" [M14] and "Dill" [M9], due to their nature of incomprehensible song structure or even melody, to specify a little.

All in all, this is still a great selection. (Thanks, Aki-chan!) I do hope in the future we can still get great songs to couple with the most uniquely cute voice I've known to date. (No really, the newbies got nothing on her) That, I can very much hope. Composers like Tsuji Ayano (personal ranking 1st), Andou Yuko (who wrote the new song, and a couple of good ones) or even Chara herself deserve praise, while people like mito-sensei (who wrote both songs I don't want to see in this review above) should be avoided at length haha I can't give the guy's songs somehow. Okay, don't tell them I said it here; sometimes, you don't have a choice on who's writing your songs.

This shall be it for now. I'm running out of things for #KN10YEARS already. I'll talk more in the future when the whole picture can be shown, hopefully after a couple more blog posts.

THE PACKAGE
Hey, since it's the best album, let's talk about it. Well, I fell into the trap of having to buy special stuff that comes along with it, and you bet I did it. Contrary to me wanting a towel from Ikimonogakari from last year (you could recall my sister paid for that), this one... I just want it, okay? Don't ask questions haha
Opening what is inside (not the towel lol that's not for practical use), I see even more beautiful stuff. Well, mainly the booklet, and that application form. Considering it delivered on time ie. before the weekend such that the form doesn't expire, I got a chance to get... well, free desktop and mobile wallpapers?
Yeah, I should've taken this at 11.11pm or whatever haha
Yep, that's right. Those who buy can all get it. Complimentary with successful application. Whether I'll get anything else out of the campaign (I mean, I can't talk on the phone with her. No, I really cannot) (It'll be just "arigatou bakkari" [Trans. many thanks] haha), then I opted for the safe option of getting a signed poster. If my wish came true Aki-chan, I'm going to jiss kiss on the poster (oops). I said it. Not going to prove that if it does happen though, for my chances are pretty slim, it would seem. I mean, there are THOUSANDS applying for a chance at something. I seriously, have no chance. And what's more, I saw the notice on their official website citing accounts now need official detail and identity in order to register... well, I'll just take the wallpapers, thanks. *sigh*
Other than that piece of paper which just gives two PNGs (lol), there's the booklet of course. Suffice it to say I'll not show it here, and I'll just say "why aren't these the shots for the special gift photos instead". Haha really, those inside are great. Can't imagine what's in the Limited Edition. Guess I'll never know about it then. I stay true to strict Klassic Note rules. Well, buying the towel is an exception already, but still. *giggles*

Okay, that's it. If you see me fill up THE OPINION segment means I've done my work for #KN10YEARS, and also for myself to remember everything great (in the review) and not (which is why the segment) about Aki-chan. Ugh, my eyes are twitching for me to sleep already. OK, cya guys next time then, and until then... "Aki-chan LOVE" should be my gamer tag lol

P.S. Oh? We have an update on the orders? Yes, we do. So yeah, stay tuned for next week I suppose, for THREE single reviews coming soon. I'm sorry about Sumipe getting death threatened, but at least I can talk about her new single, yes? Hehe see you guys on the next issue! Yay!

P.P.S. This one is for you, Aki-chan. May you always stay cute, lovely, and... AND!!! Ugh my sides hurt
I know, I missed a single (not two), but yeah. You were too cute on that last song in your 2nd single. They say it's impossible, so I was thrown off.
