Education is so cheap. We pay in order to learn things ourselves, without deep understanding of the subject.

Yep, it's a mockery, if you didn't notice. (I specialise in sarcasm haha) But seriously, when a tutor says "I'm not here to teach you XXX" which Iis not relevant to the course then how? I can figure that myself? So what if I can't and I continue pecking on you? Does that make me an idiot? Ah, so many questions unanswered. Wish me luck on my demo for the assignment two weeks from now lol

(Then again, I guess how university education is then. *sigh* Also, imagine if I posted this on social media haha)

The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #44

Yeah, 8 more issues. And the next month is going to be hell. Assignments, exams... more than enough to distract me from the fact that I have a final year project ongoing as we speak and I'm not doing any of it.

Man, student life is tough. Especially this last stretch. Let's talk about happy things, shall we?

アニメ Just Because!
Love is all about care and concern, it seems. If you can sit down and don't give a **** then... it's over before it started. Speaking from personal experience haha
This episode (#JustBecause04) if you don't mind me spoiling it, teaches us that one shouldn't just say sorry and walk away. Again, speaking from personal experience. Although my experience isn't as not-so-dramatic as these guys (it's worse haha), it's still worth mentioning. Souma finally confesses to Morikawa, with a... rather expected response. First things first, you have to assume that a lot of things happened within the three years Eita has left the group of middle schoolers when he was one too, and that is the basis of this show. They just cannot say the main point because once they say it, they just have to settle it because it's too obvious. Same thing here. The episode introduces us to a potential love triangle, with Natsume filling up the gap for being the one that likes Souma all this time. Add on Eita who probably also is in this making it a love rectangle (it's a thing now), things could not have been more complicated as we progress through this series. Drama pace is still at an all time low, plot points still felt a little off, and the story isn't well told in terms of overall situation, but hey, you get the meaning. Which explains why the title is such a case. I don't think I mentioned it this way before, but you should get it by now. It's complicated, it feels realistic (which is why it'll likely appeal to the Japanese audience than everyone else), and it's tiring to watch. But then, this may be what life at this point is, as the animation producers try to convey. I like its unique style though, but just as I mentioned last week, it can suffer from undesirable results because revealing the truth can either be great or be terrible. It's a risk to take, but I'll take it again. I want to see where this goes. Hey, we still got a love triangle. It's just... the other side of the rectangle broke off first instead of this side. You know what I mean.
I SWEAR this is everyone's reaction of this Anime haha
(Also, with respect to the show, the dog knows; The face shows it all)
P.S. Sorry for not mentioning Komiya, but Eita was right because she is weird. I think we know of the feel when someone has a favour to ask and starts poking on your weakness only to let you pay back a favour which is what they intended? Yeah, dirty methods in action, but I'm not the target so I don't care. On the other hand, it kind of worked on Eita, so whatever haha
P.P.S. Oh and if you think it's not obvious enough of that "it's none of your business" quote to be a thing in any romance Anime, you've not watched enough. Then again, Eita reacted, so this is forgivable. Try something new next time, producers. This one is too overly used. It's obvious this could've gone another way (which I would not suggest because I respect the show)

アニメ Blend S
I think the new character this week could be classified as a "Queen of Drama". Haha, no particular reference here; I just think she's very aligned with the Anime production haha
Wow, this episode (#BlendS04) more than just took last episode and brought it up to another level, but let's talk about the new character first. She is Hanazono Folder, she's a doujinshi artist (if you don't know what that is she draws for a living, under indie works which typically portray current mainstream works; think cover songs but for manga), she's playing a(n) (elder) sister character (not talking about Mafuyu from here on) if you don't know what that is by now, and she's Amano Miu, that girl who left HER WORK in the shop the last time. Yes, it's all her. I'm glad it's voiced by someone I'm familiar with (the main girl from "Subete ga F ni Naru", Natsume from "Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun"), and she does this role well. That, and the 2D character herself. Miu is totally right about lacking of a huge rack playing a sister role (even though I think it's unnecessary, but you can pad it if you want hehe), but then not like Kaho-san is doing it haha. Even so, the new addition brings life into the cafe once again. Well, not until everyone noticed how much they want more of Maika. Uh, I mean, her sadist character. So there goes her training. It works though, but considering this is a food joint throwing food will be against the rules and be a total waste of restaurant resources so yeah. Her usual unintentional sadistic (as mentioned by Dino) work ethic would suffice haha. I mean, why would you need more? She's dumb smart enough to come up with her own sadistic plays lol
From left to right: Any ally, USA, and USA state media lol
P.S. I feel like they may have touched on too much on talking about doujinshi production, like disagreements (unlike the image above lol) between manager and artist that we shouldn't know. On the other hand, it has spawned a lot on Miu's enthusiasm for writing everything she sees (include me in on this one haha), and classifying the drama in this show to be of inspiration material. As expected, Miu-chan is the "Queen of Drama". Haha no particular reference, I swear.
P.P.S. I know it's bad time to pick on Manga Time Kirara now (is this sponsored??) because they recently closed one of their magazines and are shifting some works into other publications, but yeah, I thought Miu was the author of Blend S lol
(Oh one more thing. Remember the survey in the episode? I don't agree with the imouto one haha)

アニメ Houseki no Kuni
"HEY, MY DIAMOND!" <= All fan reactions to seeing Dia (Damn you snail king; you did it haha) Okay, also BOOBS! Didn't expect to see any of them in this show haha
And yet another episode arrives (#HousekiNoKuni04) and we talk about... betrayals?? Okay, not that first. We talk about history. Now we have a very good idea of what is of the past and present of this world. Ignoring what Kongo-sensei has dreamed about (considering he's the only human left probably), the legend that the snail king (I don't want to remember the name so this will do haha) (even though now I've seen the true form I'll consider again hehe) mentioned should give us a good idea of how this world now came about. In short, it was... 2000 years (according to Rutile) after humans have "met with disaster", I would say, and much in-fighting has caused them to cease to exist, but only to exist in three varied forms - people of the sea, the gem people, and last but not least, and moon people. Representing the flesh, bone and soul of their previous evolution, they have came into conflict of... being human again? Hey, sounds like a viable story, author, and I think I'm going to like it. And if this is the fact you cannot accept then please stop watching this show now because it's going to be a lot of these from now on. Totally expected (probably) the double cross of the series with the snail king, and yes, Phos would be a good trade for someone's release. Man, the moon people just want everything. Personally won't want snail shells though, but whatever. All in all, the conflict is just beginning, and if the moon people can be satisfied (or not) with Phos and no one else cares (but Dia) then maybe it's okay? Hey, I'm not fanning for any drama, but it's starting. On a side note, I appreciate the story-telling and the slow pace of this episode, because if this was mentioned too quickly there'll be no meaning to it anymore. I'm liking this show already, to be honest.
When you have assignments to do and the exams are coming lol
P.S. "There's nothing here" I mean Phos, is a hometown SUPPOSED to be empty?? Does it make sense to your lazy a**?? Whatever haha she got tricked into it anyway
P.P.S. Once again, thanks Kongo-sensei for being straightforward in his dealings with Cinnabar and her duties. Then again, is this it? Well, next episode may see her return, so I'll look forward to that.
(And sorry for last week. You know what I mean. Cue that table!!)

アニメ Sangatsu no Lion
Self-exploration is the best, ladies and gentlemen. You don't need Kiriyama's recollection or even me to tell you how much we have learnt from learning it ourselves, at our own interest and pace. This blog is proof for me, to say the least.
The new episode (#3Lion25) besides featuring Yonezu Kenshi (yes, the guy who sang first season's 2nd ending song) as the end card graphic if you didn't notice, also features a stereotypical episode of this series, something we should remember when watching this show. Okay, happy things first. The grandfather is the best, and I'm glad to welcome back the Kawamoto sisters, two episodes after the second season started haha. Hey, seems like business is going well for the improvised sweets on the family shop, so that's good news. Then we have Nikaidou "irritating as hell" Harunobu, which who will constantly remind us of Kiriyama's silence (supposedly) to be taken as arrogance and the friend speaking out loud in ignorance will only make things worse. Hey, welcome to society, ladies and gentlemen. Last but not least, Kiriyama's flashback. I'll not mention much as to experience for yourself (by watching the show) will be better, but it reminds us of the fate that he has to bear losing his parents, moving into a shougi family which was frowned upon, and being discriminated as a kid. Hey, as a grown-up it's understandable for such things, but as a kid where one just wants to be with others, to feel love and to feel a sense of belonging, Kiriyama's childhood literally became a nightmare. Thanks, Kiriyama's family who died in an accident. On the other hand, that sliver of happiness of remembering the ladybug was great, but yeah, that was pretty much it. To understand how Kiriyama became to be referred to as a robot is not tough, as he has to drown his sadness in something, and that, is shougi. Hey people ask how you become good at this sometimes, and I tell them "a discriminating childhood, a**hole friends, and a whole lot of determination to make yourself happy", that's it. *laughs at everyone mocking at Kiriyama*
I just want you to take a moment to take this all in.

...

...

AAAAAAAAAAAHHH THEY'RE BACK!!! lol
P.S. Oh dear granddad you're right; Momo IS the best grandchild you have. MVP this episode? Maybe not. After seeing Hina's injury at the end, I'm going to say her. *silence* Is it bad to just be always giving concern and never getting any love back in return? Thanks Kiriyama for the concern, and I'm sorry for your past haha (Such is life, people. Live with it.)
P.P.S. I wonder what Hina-chan is worried about. Maybe we'll get to hear more Kana-chan next week? hehe

漫画 Dagashi Kashi
The new chapter (86) talks about sushi? Haha of course not. It's more like, the relationship between Kokonotsu and his father is crumbling. I mean, this is what happens if you want to play a mobile game and it's filled with ads, ladies and gentlemen. *laughs* I'm not saying it's bad, but then again the father can't take it, so... they play with sushi? Sure, but then again the stress is there I guess. Making Kokonotsu take over the store is going to be tough, and he can't do that forever anyways (he's totally resisting temptations though) (okay maybe not Hotaru haha), so yeah, that is that.
When you notice your dad is more childish than you lol

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
I don't know how much to write here, honestly.

Sometimes there's a lot of songs, and sometimes, there are weeks like that. Well, Porno Graffitti's new album should be appearing and I'm supposed to give chance to Touyama Nao's first album after her wonderful single for that anime two seasons ago, but yeah, none of them are available yet. *sigh* Maybe buying songs will be the solution someday. Next week brings us a couple of Anime releases (I know because I've been updating my stuff over the weekend which is why I know) including yanaginagi's new single(s) featuring the Anime "Just Because!" opening theme song (I'm not giving the other one) and... this is pretty much it I guess. I'll update as I go. Now I just want to get my hands on new songs so I can give them and done with it. *laughs* Haha the stress is getting to me.

More news approaches as Mizuno, the guy who writes the lively songs (mostly) in Ikimonogakari, will be writing a song for our dear Hanazawa Kana-chan on her new single which is likely next year, fumika and Goose house confirmed their new singles to appear next month, and Ayachi's new best album song... I'm not pledging allegiance to the fan club. Not with this song. Meanwhile, I'm obsessed with the Anime "Blend.S" opening theme song for some reason (hehe), and I'm giving the latest song from last year for Kiriku to Majou, which I swear I did hear and did not give last year. Oh well, never too late to give songs, I always say. I also took the time to take a listen to the album from "a flood of circle" but can't seem to give their rock style. I guess I'll just take the topic song only, I guess. Also, today I listened to SWANKY DANK's new album, and... I guess I'm not in the mood for punk rock now. Sorry, guys.

This is it then. Cya guys next week, and until then... it'll take some time to do 16v2, and 17 is in progress. Yeah, that's how much I want to distract myself from school stuff. *sigh* I wish this year will be over so I can start lining up the songs in ranking. Yeah, this year's Top 20 is going to be tough too, I guess. I haven't thought of who would be in it though so I better start thinking now.

Saturday 28 October 2017

I know of what is the difference of something that is good and something that I like. I don't like a lot of things, even though they are good.

I'm thinking in terms of Anime, but it applies to everything I guess. But to only know good but not do good... I guess it hits a lot of people already, huh. Not very healthy considering what's good on society does not coincide with my preferences haha

The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #43

Well, at least two loads are off. No, I'm not referring to my trip to the toilet. Then again, it's not enough. There will be more very soon. No, I'm not referring to my trip to the toilet.

*laughs*

Let's start.

アニメ Just Because!
Okay, so is it just me or did I not get that some of the main characters may be masochist?? *laughs*
The new episode (#JustBecause03) talks about the future. You know, that part where you have to leave high school and do entrance exams and think about your future? Yeah, we're past the paper writing of options or whatever already, but still. Talking about it still becomes a topic for this episode apparently. Komiya - the girl from the to-be-disbanded Photography Club - finds Izumi - the guy who is transfer and is in one of the shots to be potentially sent for competition to save the club - and wants to get his approval. I mean, he has no motivation to agree to anything though, so she's on bad luck. On the other hand, she wants to stalk help Izumi so she gets a chance of approval. Why he let her have his LINE number, I don't know. Talking about LINE, Natsume is also on it. Worrying of not getting any reply on whatever embarrassing incident in the past from Izumi, she gets frustrated. Whatever, man. He's got nothing on her. Well, I may be wrong, but she's got a dog haha. Which brings us to the somewhat more biased focus of this episode, Souma and Morikawa. Souma, for starters, has to overcome his fear of pets despite his desperation (for real, as of the start of this series) for wanting to meet her, I guess? Man, I know. Feels like me totally. Which kind of explains why I never got to any of the girls I like. The pets are great turn-offs haha. On the other hand, Morikawa has been dug by her friend on love stuff, and she seems... uninterested, un-invested (because she didn't have a crush on anyone anyway despite not being the case for the friend Yoriko) and maybe just unoccupied for such stuff, seeing her large family and her wanting to take care of it than do things like, you know, go hang out with classmates in the aquarium. I'm just saying. All the drama is heating up, and it might be going somewhere for all we know. But for three episodes? It doesn't say anything. I'll still watch though because I'm interested to see where this goes, even though I'm also worried about it being a drama disaster like some other show haha looking at you, Glasslip.
Me when I embarrass myself in front of the person I like lol
P.S. Again, if I didn't mention it here because I did in Random Curiosity, it's not because this show is sponsored that we cannot talk about LINE and Canon, okay? To the general audience who doesn't give two damns, it just represents a messaging service and a DSLR for use in the Photography Club. Nothing else. If it instinctively makes you want to consume any of the products IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT haha
P.P.S. Just because (oops) (lol) I don't want to choose that image to do as thumbnail, if you notice the guys walking on the path before they see the train over them it looks like they are moving faster then the map itself, also known as "animation skiing" as coined by me haha. But seriously, get your act together. Each episode is only 20 minutes.

アニメ Houseki no Kuni
PHOS MVP!!! I mean, if you need explanations I've got none. I just know there are as many reasons I can give the amount of cut-in footage of that snail haha
Okay, maybe I was mistaken too, but the new episode (#HousekiNoKuni03) brings us... a snail as main? No, turns out it's not Phos after all haha. Remember how we can piece it together by picking up the pieces? You know, the shell they didn't give a damn about? So yeah, the snail is just a snail. For piecing Phos together, apparently only Dia cared about bringing it back (I shall use it since gender is not a factor in this story) but I'm surprised how long it took - even for myself - to notice that we can just piece it back together, just as we were told from the start. Remember: everyone just didn't care to do anything. But if it's Dia then someone would care for her. Which is why with the effort of the group they managed to get it back (lol) which will then lead to the realisation that.... Cinnabar is also duped okay? It's not only me. Funny thing is that she's (oops) probably the only one who doesn't know of that reality now that Phos is pieced back together lol. Yeah, all episode long to know of the truth. I truly, am as dumb as everyone who didn't care about Phos. Maybe I should be as caring as Dia someday.
Final verdict: With Dia this bright you CANNOT not watch this show!! xD
P.S. The ending theme is irritating. Seriously impeding my ability to write this haha
P.P.S. First episode of any Anime with Kayanon as focus as far as I watched Anime for a decade (Phew!), and first episode of confusion. No really, Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei has nothing on this episode lol

アニメ Blend S
Man, this show is constantly picking on people who watch Anime late at night. Well, not like I'm one of them I just wake up early to watch the next morning hehe
Okay, this new episode (#BlendS03) talks about... pretty much everything we shouldn't be mentioning here - rated content. Well, if you don't know doujinshi let's briefly talk about it. Doujinshi typically refers to (not definition btw) indie content produced by Anime-based creators to be showcased by non-mainstream labels, also typically contains a lot of rated content, since... you know. With these kind of things hardly making public, only the otaku of otaku will know of them. (By the way, I know of Ishimiso and Kurosawa pict) (research at your own risk, not posting links here) Still, it appears it was from a female customer (which likely will be the staff here if she keeps forgetting her stuff haha) (yeah the episode ending gave it away), but the process of doing it was kind of awkward, I guess. Kudos to Maika being the too-pure-pure-girl (*wink* Kannagi) of this show because it's great seeing her keep her distance from the book, and of course her usual sadistic actions pique in the interest of many, including the staff and me haha. Anyways, a lovely episode to watch especially the front part with just the manager and Maika (hey no romance but that doesn't mean we can't do laps haha), and yeah the jokes are as usual amusing, if not funny. I'm still glad I picked up this show because I'm enjoying it thus far. Adult jokes aside, I think this will be great comedy to watch, and I hope for more... cleaner jokes in the future haha this can't get worse than Seitokai Yakuindomo
#WhereGotTime to go outing on Sunday 8.30am?
The manager obviously forgot Mahou Shoujo Frill haha
P.S. I mean, I don't want to show the image, but yeah, the not-KFC guy? How much is Maika into fast food btw? I feel bad for her getting bored of her traditional culture because me too hehe

アニメ Sangatsu no Lion
The new episode (#3Lion24) brings us back familiar characters and of course, development on the latest title match, as mentioned before. Souya obviously won again with unexpected foresight (I call that an expert; my tears came out), leaving his repeated opponent in the dust, the fourth time round. He kicked the wall before he left in a hurry (send him the bill for the damages, Chairman), but more than that, he left a lot of feelings for everyone. With this episode, we also welcome back a couple more characters, including Gotou (the guy who punched Kiriyama in the face over his sister) and... the sister. I don't remember the name. I hated her that much to not remember it haha. Anyways, we get some insight into Gotou's life once again, so apparently the wife is unwell and he's with another girl. I mean, sounds like a day of his life, so I wouldn't worry too much. And you too, Kiriyama. I know it's your sister but she's a b*tch so just leave her alone already. (Haha can't believe I said it again) Other than that, Kiriyama is not fighting against his irritating big-sized friend again (again, too irritating to remember the name, but I'm sure I'll recall), Shimada is still down after his fight with Souya, and we still don't have the Kawamoto sisters. I hate you, production. This bait better some next week or else I'll beat you up like what Gotou did to Kiriyama in the flashback haha
Me when my friend who sucks at exams blames me for the bell curve lol

漫画 Dagashi Kashi
The new chapter (85) talks about the plot for once. Yeah, it's about Kokonotsu. Yeah, it's about him taking over the shop. Yeah, it's about that irritating girl named Hotaru- oh it's not? Well, why not try making things disappear with a dagashi? We sure hope so, but of course nothing is going to happen to change the status quo that is now. Still, must be just random, but it sure will make of a fun thing to do for the kids, especially them girls.
No, he was not looking at a ghost.

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
How many songs did I give this week... None? That was last week? Oops. Well, I still continued on the streak that is Shishido Kavka and listened to her latest album from this year and gave another song. I also took the liberty to give another chance "a flood of circle" (in case you think the band name is weird) (apparently 10 years on already) and their new song, so I'll listen to the album maybe next week. They're on Apple Music anyway hehe. Then... I guess there's none? I'm sorry; school got in the way.

Man, do I miss those times of giving songs. And yeah, as the 10th anniversary draws near (#KN10YEARS) I need to come up with something. To credit the many songs that have lived, and have made me live on. It's not easy when there's like, (up to) 2000 songs (by the end of the year, hopefully) at my disposal. Haha no I was not going to dispose them btw

Well, this is it then. I've got a Surface Pro 4 to fix and this thing has been on my nerves since I submitted by assignment yesterday. Gotta get the update done (long story short it has been terrible) by tonight but seeing as things are I've come a long way lol. Cya guys next week then, and until next time... Keep listening to new songs, people. This is apparently one of the few ways I'm keeping an open mind.

The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #42

Wow. Another week has passed. Really, the worst thing life can do to you is to put that final year project over your head for a year. I have relieved myself of half of all the group assignments I have to deal with this semester and I'm still unhappy. Must be the upcoming exams lol

Okay, not to dampen anyone's mood but mine, let's get going! Spoiler: no new Klassic Note reviews. Tomacchan didn't make it in the list haha

アニメ Just Because!
NATSUME MVP!! Haha, we got to start somewhere. I figure we start from her hehe
The new episode (#JustBecause02) gives us a little more insight, or moreover, a little more story, to what has happened and is going to happen. Souma, that baseball guy, asks his crush Morikawa out... not on a date unfortunately, but coincidentally with the others including Eita the transfer student and Natsume (the other not-couple couple which has problems) and like, with another classmate out on an aquarium trip. Though not much has been mentioned throughout the episode, there is development. Souma gets to know about Morikawa's family (mostly just the twins), and someone remembers that (I assume embarrassing) thing that happened. I mean, what's that bad to have to keep a secret? Being best couple in middle school?? (*wink* Hyouka lol) Anyways, we'll get to find out more in due time. Meanwhile, things are patching up, as they socialise together like high school kids all over again, just that this time round might be their last. You know, that stereotypical ending where everything sucks after high school. I mean, I'm not even complaining. Just look at my life haha
Haha you can clearly tell that they are twins
P.S. I like how soft this show is taking us though; the approach, the detail, and the lack of aggressiveness (okay maybe Souma's "confession" but still) which makes this slice-of-life drama perfect for me to watch. People may hate it, but I'm growing to like this original Anime. Theme songs are great too, and it's nice to have yanaginagi back in my life again. Haha maybe. We shall see.
P.P.S. I say that because yanaginagi sings the opening (and it's Kitagawa - the guy who writes for Hanazawa Kana-chan - who's doing the song) and writes the ending for the three female characters we see this episode. It's okay, I guess. Good enough reason to stay and watch haha

アニメ Houseki no Kuni
JADE FOR MVP THIS EPISODE!! Yeah, that one joke. That's good enough for this show haha
The new episode (#HousekiNoKuni02) talks about fighting, for most. Problem is, fighting, when the sensei is asleep. And the moon people (as I shall call them from now) have brought something new, apparently. A gift. Not a treasure, definitely, as the gem girls are melting under this biological structure. What's more, Phos has been "eaten", if that word still exists in their world. Not even Dia can do anything, or the even stronger Bort. So now what? The monk is technically unbreakable when he's meditating (pun not intended; you know, high level monk meditation vs I'm sorry Jade's arm haha), and there aren't any other methods of fighting...? I mean, there's Cinnabar, but that may just melt Phos with it too, well, along with the school if that is any important. Looking from the shape of the island and how that's the only building, then yeah, they sound like they're in trouble. Still, it leaves many questions unanswered. Remember the gem girls are able to piece themselves together (literally) when they are chipped or broken? What happens if they melt? Is reconstruction still a possibility? Then again, that means all memory will be lost. Well, goodbye Phos. That's the most relatable character we'll see in a show ever. Then again, Phos till this point has been nothing but irritating, and I swear Dia has exerted her utmost kindness towards her (I wish forgiveness for me was also just a hug away), so she better. *laughs* Otherwise, you'd be glad the next episode preview brings us more mysteries, and hopefully, some solution to their current situation. With a... jellyfish snail (?) right at their doorstep, they should find a way out of this soon otherwise they'll have no gems left. Not even for the moon people.
Dia, why like Bort when there's Phos?
Okay I shouldn't have said that haha
P.S. Yes, Takagaki Ayahi is Jade, of all people. Can't recognise her though. Too focused on Kayanon as Dia already hehe I guess I can't recognise as many voice actresses here sound tomboyish. For example, Bort is voiced by Sakura Ayane who is also Kaji-san in Tsurezure Children remember that smoker? haha
P.P.S. As mentioned in the intro, even though I wished that shot wasn't taken too far away so I can GIF it but hey, it's a good joke. And Jade's hardness is... cue that table...

アニメ Blend S
Wow another wonderful episode, I must say. The new episode (#BlendS02) talks about a couple of new things. Well, don't ask for plot development, please. It's your usual slice-of-life comedy. From Maika rehearsing her sadist role which she practically doesn't have to, meeting of foreigners trying to speak English English (not a typo because this is a Japanese cast lol) to fighting for a new menu item in the restaurant, this show has everything. I also like how I've been consistently understanding the jokes as they were coming, like how Mafuyu saw Maika fondling with Kaho-san if I may put that wrongly lol, how the manager just dies after eating the sadistic parfait, and that seriously overkill of a fight scene between Mafuyu and the manager (manager RIP)... it's laughs all around. It may be overdone, and it's quite similar to this show's animation company Aniplex who has done WORKING!! before, it's no wonder I feel right at home with this show. Hey, not too much rated stuff, plenty of jokes, and nothing but male customers will be sure to make this show clean of any other competition. That is unless, you're here for the girls too. I won't say I'm one of them, but I agree with Akizuki that we need some yuri action- What? I didn't say anything lol
Just a nice reminder that if this were done the other way round it'll not have THAT much of an effect lol
P.S. I seriously thought in the drawing of sticks we'll see the manager cheat to be in a team with Maika I guess not huh the manager is not that desperate haha
P.P.S. Although Mafuyu is not wrong, I guess Maika can stay less opinionated at this point considering there are tons of people around her making decisions for her because her decisions kind of suck according to what she came up for a parfait. Nonetheless, she should start thinking about making right decisions soon. Like working in this cafe for example lol

アニメ Sangatsu no Lion
They make you feel right at home with the new season but WHERE ARE MY KAWAMOTO SISTERS?! *saw end of episode* YES!!!
The new episode of the season (#3Lion23) brings me a quote directly from the episode by the main guy Kiriyama Rei himself. It goes as "If I wasn't careful it felt like something was going to leak from my eyes, so I used every ounce of will to hold it in". Yes. My opinion of the comeback of a new season. At first I thought this would throw me off as much as I think of the show when I watched this at the start, but no. I got right into it as quick as the introductions start kicking off. It was also really reminiscent of all the characters to be mentioned, and to finally see some focus on our potential other main "antagonist" (well I wouldn't say that) Souji Meiya and his first match this season of the show. But yeah, it's the feels of shougi and life all over again. And if you have not been missing that, I have. It's all I have waited for for nearly a year, and I'm glad it has all come back together. All in all, the theme songs are nice, the soundtrack by Yukari-sensei (I started from her music in Anime "Toradora!") is great, the story flows well back into pace once again without talking too much about introductions as they shouldn't... it's all back to business, I guess. Next episode sounds a lot more overwhelming than this emotional episode has to offer, so I'll be looking forward to more drama again. Next time make sure we get more females in the episodes, yes? Old men in this show are boring lol
(*Crying words in background)
Me when I haven't made any progress on my final year project lol
P.S. I'm also glad to see the season happily welcoming the club activities segment with shougi and science mentioned in balance in this first episode of the season. Feels like they staged it, but yeah, it's all in all very nice. Hey, we needed more from Kiriyama's life besides shougi, and here it is. I'm satisfied haha

漫画 Dagashi Kashi
The new chapters (83, 84) talk about... a lot of weird things. From human transformation (I swear this won't make it to the more practical "sponsored" Anime lol) to looking at more of Hotaru (oh damn I wished they'd take it to the next level) (Kotoyama-sensei, please?), there's everything to enjoy from just two chapters. One new sweet was only mentioned on the chapters, and the other was them playing traditional games again. I say "traditional" because we are all staring at the modern ones already, and I would like to bring back the focus on these games we so see as fun like, a decade ago. *sigh* It's great being in the countryside, where things don't change. Yeah, Kokonotsu also wished Hotaru-chan will never change. I agree with him hehe
Again, never wanted to put too much text for a thumbnail, but I sense Kokonotsu boner haha
P.S. DUAL LAYER SKIRTS MVP!!! She needs to do that more often tbh the weather's hot in the countryside haha

漫画 Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!
Haha the-one-guy-who-we-still-don't-know-his-name makes an appearance! I still don't know his name btw haha I'm sorry bro
The new chapter (56) talks about the unlikely scenario which results in the biggest enjoyment Usami has ever had - being serviced by Uchimaki, her crush. Why is that important? Because apparently everyone saw or even heard about it (details in the thumbnail below), and now she can't work with her left hand due to... you read the chapter. And it gets better. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but as her friends have noticed she's having a great time, so we don't have to worry that much. On the other hand, the we-don't-know-guy is quite a big part of this chapter somehow, so you can see what happened. No, there aren't two guys who want to pull her pants down HAHA GOTCHA (don't worry I didnt hehe)
If you want to say it to someone in Japanese it's "suki ni shiro" [好きにしろ] haha
(And that is where it all started...)

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
Wow if this week isn't a bonanza compared to the super dull period in Klassic Note that was last week. I've exceeded my capacity to give up to FIVE RELEASES this week, and giving them all gives me a relief for all the music I had to listen this week to be honest. And that's not all in the lineup, but we'll talk about that later. Firstly, releases this week. Yoru no Honki Dance's new album is okay as I try to give a couple of songs not including the topic song somehow because it didn't stay in my mind after a couple of listens apparently. SPYAIR's new album delivers quite well, but mostly average songs make it hard to give even a couple of songs, but I still got to it somehow. It's also the last of the releases this week I gave because of such hesitation I had throughout the week. 96neko released a new album (thanks Google) after that single I gave in March, and it sounds rather impressive to be honest. Never thought I would give the other side of her singing in this way, but hey, I got to start somewhere. Now I may have to go listen to her earlier releases; I'll see if I have the time for it.

Tomacchan's new single is rather disappointing considering it's an Anime theme song (Mocho's from the same Anime will be worse I assure you), but I still gave the topic song nonetheless. And this, is still somehow better than the other releases this week. Lastly, I finally gave a listen to 7!! best singles album where featuring all their single topic songs (and a couple of other songs not in singles) I ended up putting three songs in the list. I guess I like their style somehow. More on the later style though; their early style is a little deterring. I don't know why, don't ask me.

Over the weekend as I was cutting the live performances from (if you need to know) ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2017 (yes, it's this year), I ended up giving (besides Suchmos) Shishido Kavka just the one topic song from her latest album. Other than that, I don't think I'll like her style considering this vocal is also a drummer and she sings kind of electronic rock songs with beat music inclinations. Well, that's just me, but yeah, I'll consider that in the upcoming week. I need more time for that because it's today recent.

Next week, I like how my Wednesday is a holiday AND I DON'T HAVE ANY NEW RELEASES TO LISTEN!! DAMMIT!! Well, I'll go explore on the recent reel I got from my Klassic Note net haha

This is it then. I still gotta do up everything else. Oh yeah, the KN10YEARS thing, huh. I totally forgot though. Well, no promises next week too because I've got more assignments to clear. Yeah, #unilife ladies and gentlemen. Cya guys next time then, and until then... I hope you're living an easier life than me. If so, go watch more Anime and listen to more Japanese songs, yes? They are the fuel for my hectic life so I'm sure it'll work for you. I meant that in general. Not like you have to watch lame slice-of-life Anime or listen to boring Rock music. Yeah, I'm talking about you. Hmph!

See you next week. *laughs*

P.S. Because this is kind of rated so I won't say it in Twitter: Whenever 96neko sings in the song "Maji de BI BI DA BOO" from her new album "my beloved beloved lover" [大好きな大好きな恋人] I keep reminding myself of my left hand haha Happy Girlfriend Day everyone lol

Friday 13 October 2017

If life is terrible being honest and good, then why not be honest and bad?

Okay, I don't mean "bad" in like, mad scientist or terrorist kind of manner. But then again, just being an everyday bad person is bad enough already. Remember that being bad is also being straightforward which means being honest. I just wonder what's wrong with that, that's all.

Oh, lack of understanding? I see...

The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #41

Ah, it's the final stretch, everyone. You can start counting down the 12 episodes from now. Oh well, Sangatsu no Lion is an exception as it's a two-cour sequel haha

On life, I'm just terrible. A lot of things are going to go down within the next week, and I'm here talking about Anime. I should be ashamed. On the other hand, I'm just tired. Of thinking. Without solution. I may be in a situation worse than the moon people hunting me, if you get what I mean. I'm no gem girl, but still.

Let's get to it then. No KN10YEARS until... I can get my project on track. Which is not now. Or soon. So don't ask. Okay, let's start.

アニメ Just Because!
Hmm... for a first episode, not too bad.
This first episode of a new series of original Anime (#JustBecause01) talks about final year in high school, and I have a feeling it's going to be like something with music, clubs, school life, and... maybe romance? Okay if there's a lot more of the romance part then it may not sound too much like TARI TARI, otherwise I may start to worry. But knowing that the music production is done by none other than Anime singer-songwriter yanaginagi (yep it's her) I have a feeling this may not turn out that way. Nonetheless, let's see if I can piece this together without having to watch two more episodes. Eita is a transfer student who went out of his middle school social circle because of his dad's work (I know, so stereotypical) (well I use it on my story anyway so whatever) but the reverse direction happened 4 years later, at the final year and final semester of high school. So yeah, he went to a high school back in Tokyo from Fukushima (the reverse during middle school) this time round and he knows that many of his friends are still around. And so the story starts. The last part of this episode will likely be the hint of what might happen in the next few episodes, as we see some characters take their chance to do the only thing they probably haven't done but can do - confess their affection to that special someone. The baseball hitter is going to confess to the Band Club girl, and he knows Eita liked Natsume the ex-chairman of the student council, to set things out. All in all, a rather okay start to explaining the many questions we might pose to ourselves. Why confession? Did Eita ever regret something back then? How will this play on a semester where one can never be as active as they were before? All of this sounds really ambiguous and can throw off many to watch, but as I said, I follow the three-episode rule, and if that fails, at least I'll have great theme songs to listen. No? I haven't given yanaginagi a song in three years? Oops. I shall see about this then.
I don't want to spoil too much, so here is (supposedly) the main girl Natsume.
This one is from the ending, in case you wonder.
P.S. Which kind of brings us to the title of this show, "Just Because!". Looks like we may be anticipating a romance show. This, is going to be fun. Hey, I like watching couples get created at the expense of my entertainment. *sob*
[My comment to someone else on RC]

アニメ Houseki no Kuni
First things first - DIA FOR MVP!!! Haha I knew it was you Kayanon you must be hard right now lol I meant the gem
The first episode (#HousekiNoKuni01) of this... fantasy action series? It brings us an awesome opening theme song (hehe), plenty of cast, and a fine story. As of now, we only know of Phos and her (I assume it's a her; she keeps using "boku" though and she sounds tomboyish) new mission to do an encyclopedia by the sensei (I've confirmed it's the same voice as Kara no Kyoukai's Araya Souren; his deep voice is very reminiscent) which sounds like the most boring job ever when you have others fighting, but may also be the most important. As the healer/doctor mentioned (great skill on piecing them gems up though haha) that so long as we don't know the answer we'll have to fight until we can find a solution, and that may be what Phos should set herself up for. To find a remedy for this predicament through discoveries. Firstly, she has to go around. Well, going around isn't her life yet, but Cinnabar seems to know a lot more considering she has been let a loner, her powers are poisonous (not related), and she is doing the night walk which the opponents do not appear (sorry for Buddhists if you're offended by the show), which sounds like a perfect person to ask for the person who has all the time at night lol. Maybe Phos will come to terms with her mission, really take out a discovery that will help the team of 28 gems to not get ripped by the enemy, and maybe save that lost comrade. Some episode, man. Meanwhile, we welcome a new character introduction episode, with Dia (short for Diamond) taking the main role. I can't wait. This show is really impressive thus far.
Warning: No one was severely "damaged" in this episode. I promise.
P.S. The above paragraph does ignore everything else in production, so I'll talk briefly about it. People will be concerned about animation, but I'm not really. Random Curiosity has mentioned that it is undertaken by an experienced company who knows their way of combining 2D and 3DCG into the show (it's Unity by the way, check their official website/Twitter for proof) and I kind of like it. It feels like video frames are capped at 30fps but I guess it's just more to our perception to think that 2D animation should be smooth. (Well spoilers: it's not) Nonetheless, I think it's impeccable for it to be done this way, and I like it. Cinnabar's powers (the "poison wave") is good evidence that this beautiful animation is here to stay. Can't imagine if it ISN'T 3DCG though; it may took really terrible in comparison.
P.P.S. The hardness thing may unfortunately be used by myself as word puns for the next couple of weeks without me noticing so sorry in advance for those not sex jokes haha. Also, I'll need a chart for gem hardness very soon. Maybe I'll post a link here next week.
(I'll talk about more of the story, plot and theories in later episodes because this episode has plenty to offer, so... I guess I'll have to watch it all hehe)

...

Okay because I'm crazy despite me having to do everything else in life, I'll start doing that encyclopedia Phos is reluctant to do. Well, I'm Google-ing for answers so I got it easy haha. Well it wasn't easy anyway I can't really find a chart to describe all 28 minerals mentioned here so I decided to do my own here.

Bear in mind I'm only doing the hardness of gems according to the Mohs hardness scale as mentioned in the Anime, so here it is for now: (characters which are not in focus will be excluded and compiled at the end) (#htmln00b) (Also also also, only the table will move on in the following weeks)
Name of Mineral
Hardness
Diamond
10
Morganite
7.5
Goshenite
7.5
Benitoite
6.5
Rutile
6
Phosphophyllite
3.5
Cinnabar
2

アニメ Blend S
I must say, this first episode of a... slice-of-life cafe series (#BlendS01) is turning out to be rather interesting, if not better. (Yes, I only build on watching WORKING!! as my reference lol) Let's just talk about everything in general. "Very appealing", is the phrase I would like to use. The plot itself is simple, as Maika is trying to find her job but ends up showing her cold eyes to everyone she meets, which makes her only perfect for the cafe job. The manager is the main point here, not in romance, but is the fact that the cafe was meant to show many personalities, and seeing Maika doing the sadistic character sounds perfect for the job in the manager's opinion. Well, at first I thought this show was meant to have characters with such persona, but turns out it is all acting, which is fine I suppose. The style of the show goes in between fanservice (yep you don't see undressing in WORKING!!, for example) and some subtle comedy to poke on the characters from time to time, which I guess is fine. I'm more worried at the start that they may force on this part a lot stronger but I guess I can accept it so far. There is emphasis on plot progression though, showing in the first half of the episode Maika showing her cold eyes, her screwing up on work which means pleasure to the customers, and so on. And maybe romance along the way? At least there is a story here, I could say. Otherwise, you'd be glad to know that if all you want is stereotypical Anime characters (though limited) this one has it all, maybe. I'm just worried it'll get too stereotypical it's going to change my opinion of this show. I mean, the theme songs are already disappointing. (If you know of Klassic Note this opinion shouldn't be a surprise to you)
The best selfie ("twoshot" in Japanese) I've seen in years lol
P.S. Maika MVP? Nah, people like a huge rack, so whatever. "Kaho-san MVP" then haha (her voice is familiar though; remember Kana-san in Tsurezure Children?)
P.P.S. To add on, I would say this show offers a lot of content, and is way stronger than WORKING!! would have to let's say, their first season. I'm not expecting sequels here, but if this series keeps on the amount of content every week it'll stay strong in impressions. For once I wonder when the episode is going to end when I'm watching everything until the part where the girls go to the arcade.
[My comment on RC]

AND with Sangatsu no Lion which is airing next week I may have to watch 4 shows this season. It's been some time. I don't want to reject Blend S theme songs though. I have my standards to follow lol

漫画 A Channel
The new chapter (102) must be talking about that hit movie in Japan by Makoto Shinkai- Ah, I better not say it Tooru will kill me if she hasn't watched it yet? Nah, I doubt so. (I mean, it's been so long anyway - I meant the manga) Don't spoil it for me though; I haven't watched that gender switching Anime haha. Anyways, Run-chan has plans to watch it with her best friend but it's not until two weeks. So yeah, Tooru just doesn't want to get spoiled. Unfortunately, it's rather unavoidable as most of the school (even the teacher) has watched it. I know, I never had this feeling before haha. Then again, I wonder why this doesn't happen when I was a student? Must be that I'm not into movies. Or that movies are not interesting enough for everyone to talk about it. Whatever, man. I'm just not into them anyway. Yeah, don't spoil "Kimi no na wa." for me, will you? *laughs*
Well Nagi-chan, it's no spoiler why you've been putting on weight lol

漫画 Dagashi Kashi
The new slew of chapters (80-82) talk about... okay let's mention about the collaboration. I mean, they just baited Hotaru-chan into thinking about it the second time, right? Well seriously, if it's that good you don't need a new flavour. I guess that's the problem with many food products over the years. My local Oreo company launched thin sliced Oreos recently. I mean, the original ones aren't good enough?? Then, there's the sour thing. Honestly, I like sour stuff, especially if it comes in the form of sweets. Well, maybe only sweets, but hey, it may just be a gender thing. Good for Sayashi though because she's going to eat a lot of that when she gets pregnant in the very far future lol. Still, I really like the simplicity of such chapters in describing a dagashi, and I'm sure the second season of Anime which is airing next year will be as good as the original work. I may not have reached far enough to see the latest stuff though, so I hope I don't get too spoiled.
(Sorry, can't help but clip a page of the comic)
xD

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
Well, nothing.

Yeah, I meant it. Nothing this week.

I did nothing for Klassic Note this week. I'm just extending the paragraphs at this point now.

I mean, I was excited about the theme songs of the new season of Anime (or not), but this week... I've done nothing. (Don't relate to my life even though it's very similar lol) I kind of forgot that 7!! best album releases this week (I'll have to listen to it before next Wednesday?), and I'm only looking forward to Tomacchan's new single and two albums which will come out next week. Man,  next week is going to be hectic as hell.

On other things, SCANDAL's new song might be a disappointment ever since I listen to their own compositions... well that's it. I said it earlier: I've got nothing on this week.

Ugh, I'm disappointed in myself in not searching for new melodies already. Then again, everything around me recently has been rather disappointing. I mean, they released the Anime "Houseki no Kuni" opening theme song in full as the first episode aired, and... I regretted listening to it. Totally spoiled my anticipation for the awesomeness in the 90-second clip. Oh well.

Look. Look how enthusiastic I am. And in a couple of hours all hell has gone loose. *sigh*

This is it then. Project mates are pestering about me on progress already. Cya guys next week, and hopefully by then I'll feel better, and not because a new season of Sangatsu no Lion started airing lol

Bye.

The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #40

Can I not promise new stuff on this blog until I finish ALL the assignments I need to clear by the semester?

Thanks. This will make my term break easier. Not that I've not prepared more stuff to write here for KN10YEARS though. I just don't have the mood to do it. Refer to the recently posted one for quality, and the last time I mentioned about it for timing. Man, if this was in school I would have missed deadlines many times already lol

アニメ Gamers!
Well well. What a way to end the series. I mean, I may have been led to believe that it ended with a filler episode where I might have been watching filler episodes for half this series? Thanks, Anime.
The final episode (#Gamers12) discusses in general about gaming, provided some stupid intro that is totally irrelevant (really I don't care about secondary characters at this point) (I thought it was supposed to be something though), and did it in a context of a fanservice filled hot springs trip. If you only remembered the girls in censored nude mode I won't blame you, and if you're the type otherwise I'm sorry the Anime didn't undress Uehara and Amano for you girls, sorry. *laughs* That aside, we can discuss about Aguri's argument about games being less useful and super expensive in today's context, and the others trying to defend it as much as possible. Because I know of a specific gaming YouTube channel which has discussed on issues like this, I know that video games ever since they surfaced have always been this expensive, and splitting into DLCs is no longer anything uncommon. People do feel like they have been slowly more ripped off their money than before, with examples of DLCs just being swimsuits for 2D characters (lol) to things like cutting down the content of each DLC compared to their previous instalment (I'm talking about you, The Sims 4) in the series. Though to be honest spending money in games is really not justified for there are many ways to enjoy yourself with the lines of gaming psychology and is cheaper than just buying a game, getting a console/PC to play it, paying for the electricity bills to run those processor cores (CPU and GPU, we call them) and then hoping that you have a good time with it even if the game is hard, bad, boring or even stressful in some cases. All in all, as Keita (and probably Anime production lol) mentioned, many a times it's because of something that you enjoyed. It's like going bowling, from Aguri's example. If you went bowling and had a good time with say, a friend (link this to multiplayer gameplay), ordered a drink at the bar, scored say, 300 points (haha) at the one game you paid for, would you say whatever you paid can be justified because you had a good time? Is this as justified as when you buy an expensive game, spent... 70 hours playing it since you stared, enjoyed the extra story-based DLC, and played with new friends over the Internet? With this show, I hope whoever watches this and doesn't know anything about gaming may one day, understand how complicated it is to... judge the relationships of these five idiots haha
P.S. Since I mentioned about that stupid intro with Keiichi - the guy who joined the Game Club instead of Amano, I'll get a better image. No worries. No nudity, I promise.
Okay since I didn't mention it above, yeah.
Gender preferences also influence how DLCs are sold haha
P.P.S. HEY THAT IDIOT SHOW IS OVER SO I CAN SAY THE WORD WHEREVER I WANT DON'T THINK I FORGOT *wink*

アニメ Bungou Stray Dogs
And that is TWO glasses in a day. Good job, Kunikida-san haha
The special episode (#BungouStrayDogs25) actually indirectly answered that one question I'm sure they have asked in the series, and that answer is our main character here. In this story, Kunikida exhibits once again his ideals on progression of his life, and whatever is around him. And I think I did say this before, with one being perfect any external factors will not be in the way of your success. The episode also shows typical style of this story of showing how well thought out the events and their consequences are such that the villains seem to have a upper hand but it's not as good as the main guys. Hey if you missed the series here's another reason to watch it - Kotobuki Minako. Yes, the also main girl of this episode Aya is voiced by none other than the voice actress infamous (argubly, I would add) for h er accented voices. So yeah, she sounds great though, to be honest. But yeah, she's a kid. Not that she has growing disorder or anything as an adult haha. Anyways, this show is so much reminiscent of the awesomeness I've probably expressed for 25 weeks lol, and I'm glad I got a taste of this again. It's even aired at my local TV broadcaster. Goes to show how popular this series is already.
(No images because it's watermarked. Oops.)
P.S. In other news, the movie is due next year April so that sucks for once again I have to wait until the movie comes out not in cinemas in order for me to be able to watch this... movie original written story? Oh, then I'm okay haha

アニメ Fall 2017 Anime Preview
And as for new Anime next season, (other than "Sangatsu no Lion", duh) I've settled with (for now, as usual) "Just Because", another high school romance Anime on the final years because why not, "Blend.S" for maybe if I think it's like WORKING!! but just features plenty of Anime stereotype girls because if it's anything else I'll leave, and maybe "Houseki no Kuni" as I saw the trailer and my jaw dropped. Also, when there's Komatsu Mikako must give a chance and take a look. Remember I probably mentioned about Taboo Tattoo here? That's also because of her. Oh also, Kayanon. Can never get enough. Yeah this show has more female protagonists go live with it haha. As for the other shows? You can go find out yourself on Random Curiosity - still my best source of Anime review material since 2008.

漫画 MANGA
Please forgive for I didn't have much time to, you know, fulfil my promise last week. I'll do it soon anyways, so be sure to check her again next week. *sigh*

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
This week brings us a couple of releases that at this point, I'm not satisfied with. KANA-BOON's new album review has been extended because I cannot accept the topic song somehow and the rest of the album isn't impressive. THE ORAL CIGARETTES' new single brings us back familiar melodies (black, in particular) and it makes of a great Anime Ajin movie theme song, but... in my list maybe not so much. I'll still give the topic song though as it's the only thing worth giving now. Familiar tunes, I mean.

Other than newest songs, I'm giving one of the character songs in that Alternative Girls game I've been playing in Japanese for a year already, and also I got to review after 2 months (refer to latest KN10YEARS post) Ryokuoshakai's 2nd mini-album and it's not that bad at all. The improvement of their style makes me "want" to give a new song, and maybe next time I'll give more. I see the potential in them, to be very honest. So yeah, that's it for giving songs this week.

Recently I got to a couple of live festival footage, so that'll help in finding new songs but as of now, not really. The new season of Anime "Sangatsu no Lion" is coming up well with the new trailer revealing the theme songs, Touyama Nao's new self-written song is nothing short of a fantastic piece unfortunately (that's me rejecting her album twice btw), Yoru no Honki Dance's new music video for their upcoming album is okay I guess, and SCANDAL's new digital single features them in animation to promote snacks. Wow. Just wow. I want a real life music video done in the exact same way though hehe

(*Sorry about the lack of overlay album art hehe now I got the time...)

This is it then. Cya guys next time, and even though I have no agenda as of tomorrow, I've got plenty of schoolwork to do, and maybe a trip to the school maybe necessary if I have to do my final year project and discussion and stuff. You know, typical university student life, as they say. Just, no breaks though unlike the other three years that passed lol

Bye. See you!~ *Katori blinks*

[P.S. I can't believe I told myself to do APoL as my life novel to not notice that how much sh*t life will be in the future (work, I mean) that I won't even want to write this at all? Well, we shall see.]

The Delay Against The Expected Anticipation

Okay, now that I have the time mood to do this haha, let's talk about it. Continuing on the KN10YEARS series, I try to spend more time talking about things that matter to me, and how I deal with them as an audience of music. Hey, I may be wrong, but that's Klassic Note for you. Let's begin. This week's topic is on waiting for new songs to come out. Yeah, you guys don't know every CD has a 'release date', right? (Audience: WHAAAAAAAT??) No really, many don't they assume it just pops out out of nowhere or right as they thought of it lol

[*This post is text heavy, and may not make much sense as you read. You have been warned.]

MUSIC AND THEIR RELEASE DATES
So what do I mean by release date? It's not a crazy term I invented myself, no. It just refers to the official release of a music or a list of music on a specific date, but that doesn't mean it cannot be heard by the world before then. Due to marketing reasons many companies like to release teasers, participate in credited productions (drama, Anime etc.) and even air their full (topic) song(s) on various mediums, from radio to music videos on TV. Therefore, release date is just a loose term to mark a checkpoint on an artist's music collection. Typically, Wednesdays are the release date for most music releases, from singles to albums to their digital versions (the first two refers to their physical copies) and physical releases (CDs) will have a day earlier before release for all pre-orders known as "Flag Day", which means you get the stuff a day before, with respect to digital release.

Because of all this complication, there is waiting. Waiting between hearing the song for the first time in any length, incomplete or not, until the "release date" is reached and the full song can be heard. But why would I complain about this even though it's technically letting me know about new songs earlier? We shall explore two main reasons below.

THE DELAY
Firstly, we are met with inevitable delay from the first time we hear a song to the next time we get the full release. To make things worse, we may not be able to obtain the releases for a review even though it's past the release date. Today, even with Apple Music, I still have to rely *wink* on the Internet community to provide me with a source of music for those releases I can't hear through streaming. So, these delays after the release date will affect our impressions of the songs, and it will inevitably add on to the next point I'll be talking about later. The way to battle this is to then let the anticipation die down, because if I do so then I'll just forget about the song, and when it comes out again will I achieve (I'll use economic terms here) its optimum experience of me listening to the music, if that makes sense to you. Examples can be easily found on those releases which I have access to their topic songs on YouTube via their music videos but I've never reviewed their disc release yet for whatever reason. Problem is that it might never happen, or happen years later after its release. I have reviewed singles or albums up to 3 or even 5 years after release (if I'm not wrong ORESKABAND was one of them) typically relative to its popularity on the Internet. Artists like "The Floor" only releases their new songs via record labels in disc form, and the reverse of this case can happen when I get to hear "vivid undress" new mini-album released via the same medium as the previous one mentioned, thanks to the online community. All in all, these timing stuff of waiting for a listening source whether it's streaming or not or just the impression in general will have an effect on my impression of those songs, considering time and relevancy of music has always been a factor in Klassic Note.

THE EXPECTED ANTICIPATION
So, with delay comes anticipation. And if a song sounds too good at first impression, then waiting will become excruciating. Which brings me to my second point: I expect the song(s) to be good. This is so typically because the song is really good (not 5-star good) or just very attractive in first impression that I cannot forget. You know, we've heard those songs before. We get hooked over that early released teaser trailer or music video online and we get hyped for the next month until it actually comes out. This inevitably brings up expectations for the release, and can lead to greater disappointment if it doesn't meet our requirements. The best example is Anime here, because we only hear an EDITED 90-second version of that song and the songs will only release in full sometimes way after the episode featuring the song has been first aired (maybe months away) and if it's a good song at 90 seconds that'll make the wait feel like a suffering. That hype typically lasts enough for the release to appear on time, but most of the time it's not. (Which brings us back to the earlier part about delay) But if it does, it also has its problems. We tend to anticipate by thinking how an extrapolated 90-second tune will turn into something that is maybe 4 minutes? Yeah, that creative imagination is not healthy.  Coupled with the fact that you can think of this day and night, it'll only get worse. I have evidence that not only on myself but to the countless online videos which refer to themselves as "FULL VER" but is actually an edited song of that edited theme song in the Anime which basically just runs through the verses and chorus of the song over and over again, and that gives the feel of a full song, even though it's not. Go try it out next time. Find an Anime theme song you know of that hasn't been released (right after episode 1) and try to find the full version of the song. You'll hit a lot of those "walls", as I mentioned. This in all is actually an effect of the rising expectation of the song that will appear in the near future, and expecting it to be good is nothing but natural, despite it being totally unhealthy for our impressions as this easily leads to disappointment if the song is just slightly different from our expectations. And in Anime, that is often the case.

HOW DOES THAT AFFECT ME?
Up until now I have not really mentioned how all these can affect me as a listener. Then let me tell you. It's not much. Why? As of today I'm constantly busy with life, and it's never the life I had back then when I started Klassic Note. I had all the time in the world at home, listening to new songs, trying to give more songs, and even extending the anticipation of new songs that came out and I have to wait ie. just listening to some of them to give then a chance. Still, today I am giving new songs, but without all that much time anymore. For me now I'm actually delaying giving the new songs as I go, hoping to be able to give more songs from those singles/albums by hoping I'll be in the mood. (Hey, if you have all weekend afternoons you'll always have the mood lol) To add on, the anticipation does not exist on most of the new songs today. Remember I mentioned long ago about giving new song ratings because many have plateaued to the 4-star region and it's increasingly harder for me to give 5-star songs? Yeah, because that is based on impression. Even the 5th anniversary release "THE IMPRESSIVIST" was based on that idea. And in my listening environment today, it's not going to happen. Hardly will I ever stroll in into a release that I've anticipated for a couple of weeks and give it right off the bat, and those I do are typically those which are on my shelf. In the past this happens ALL the time. Because there is time. Because there is enough time for me to listen patiently through all the releases. Because resources are still readily available today even with streaming services rolling all over the place. It's never going to be the same as before. I can never get back to the time I can have all the time in the world to listen to music. However, I'm still thankful for Apple Music and today's music mediums (including the online community) or otherwise I might just leave now. Take SPYAIR's latest single for example; I have not seen it on the Web yet, to be honest. But I was able to with Apple Music. I can't ask for more accurate timing than this.

CONCLUSION
You must have experienced this before: Waiting for a new song or release to arrive and thinking about how good it'll sound... we've all been there. Problem is in the essence of time as many of us aren't able to resist being super-brainwashed by previews or thinking about the new songs all the time. That is, in general, how they get us to buy their new songs. As I sit here listening to the digital pre-release of Roy's 1st single which doesn't even have a slated release date (Anime "Koi to Uso" ending theme; the Anime ended already) and KANA-BOON's new topic song for their album "NAMIDA" releasing soon, I ask myself whether I can have any more expectation for these songs I've taking a liking to at first listen. To say that I don't is a mistake, but listening to it a few more times before giving it to me now is quite literally brainwash. That is why compared to the first five year in Klassic Note I've not been doing that: listening to previews or music videos time and time again to see if I like them or if I can like them  I'll patiently wait, maybe forget about it, think it fresh and then give it. That is now, my definition of giving a song. It's no first impression though, the previews will still stick in my head, but hey, that's how music works for us anyway. To resist the entertainment would be devastating to our own mind and soul.
