The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #53

I almost forgot today's a Sunday and I have to do this LAST POST OF THE YEAR!!! Yeah! Cya guys next year haha (oh that's for the ending?)

Also, KLASSIC NOTE SONG AWARDS 2017 RESULTS ARE OUT!!! YEAH!! Be sure to check it out! Or just listen to the preview. Whatever. It's the last day of 2017 anyway. You do what you like. *laughs*

アニメ Just Because!
"What do you think college life is?" Picking up chicks! Haha yeah right Eita will NEVER do that
Okay in case you haven't watched the heck out of the last episode (#JustBecause12) yet, and I'm going to spoil the heck out of this after this long sentence, they have graduated. And according to my predictions last week, despite the many unpredictable circumstances, I'll say I'm close to the 2nd ending I proposed - where Eita is a NO and everyone else is a YES. But in this case, Eita refuses to meet up with Natsume, and as predicted, Natsume can't bring up enough courage to do it all the way, so she kind of gave up. No really, I consider that as it. Then again, we should know why I left Komiya as sort of a "don't care" case because she'll be the victim (even if the photo won wasn't from her work), meaning Eita will never say yes to the poor girl. Hey, leaving her to cry is fine, beating a home run as far as the meteors can go is a little over, but putting a future story is not. Well, at least, it's an adequate ending to have. I mean, what else can be done? I wished for a more striking ending though, because if it's done during graduation the future insight will be way more interesting, but sure, this is good enough. All in all I think this show deserves praise in story and character development, but seriously lacks in quality animation (I mean, I watch this final episode and half the time I want to kill myself) and detail which I thought I can see more of. Well, not to be hopeful and on a more positive note, I think this show is well done. Good enough to make me anticipate every episode (besides the beginning because starting with a home run is weird tbh), and enough for me to make predictions. Hey, I missed a romance show like that, and I think this show delivered. Good job people; this original Anime is indeed something worth watching. Although to be honest if I wrote the ending I'll choose the same for Eita (make him fail his entrance and fall back on his initial acceptance) and make sure the confession is done on the day of graduation. With total impact. So that Natsume will NEVER be able to party with her friends. *laughs*
P.S. I wished my ending was like that with that one girl, but not like it happens lol it broke halfway through in secondary (middle) school already haha *cries like Komiya*
This series in a nutshell.
And man the animation is terrible lol

アニメ Winter 2018 Preview
According to Random Curiosity, I can only confidently say "Dagashi Kashi 2" for next season unfortunately. However, I will be taking note of the following for reasons so stupid you'll end up not watching it because I am going to haha

  • Toji no Miko: There's Hondo Kaede with a main role (haven't gotten over her lovely voice yet), and I'll see if I like the action considering they have done pretty much every corner of advertisement to promote this original Anime
  • Pop Team Epic: I'll see if I can even survive an episode. And Dagashi Kashi is half that episode length
  • Cardcaptor Sakura No I'm not doing it but I like the theme songs though
  • Mitsuboshi Colors: I'll see if these kids can even make me stay for an episode
  • Kokkoku Nope not doing it I don't like time manipulation at all
  • Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san: If I can stand that b*tch for an episode I'll watch it haha
  • Koi wa Ameagari no You ni: I can be interested in this if I want to

That's pretty much it. Hmm, looks like I have quite a line-up (Audience: You haven't checked how many shows you liked?) if I were to watch all of them, but don't you worry I probably won't.

漫画 Kuroshitsuji
Wait, Ciel was only worth FOURTY POUNDS?? Well then again it was the 19th century so I guess it's worth more. (Edit: in2013dollars.com says about 4.8k pounds today)
The new chapter (135) gives us further insight into Ciels' past. Remember the slave trade? Yep, now we'll get the full story. Ciel Ciel noticed he was being sold (illegally, of course) along with his brother who also somehow survived the incident, but managed to take the father's ring in order to show their status if they ever get out of this. That is, if they ever. They are immediately sold to a buyer who gives them food, gives them clothes, and gives them a reason to die. Yeah, they need pure souls for the summoning ritual, they say. Turns out the other Ciel was the only pure one lol. I wouldn't hold my breath as to what happens next, I'm guessing that Ciel Ciel did not do anything to kill his brother but considering he has the ring which was not in his parson, he might have indirectly used his brother for something probably related to the devil. Remember the butler Sebastian? We're getting there. Oh damn, this story, so many feels. And I like. *evil laughs*
To all kids: Do not try this at home.
(Some kid here is real smart though.)

漫画 Dagashi Kashi
The new chapters (96-97) talk about entirely different things haha. Firstly, not a dagashi. Since I believe in Kokonotsu then I assume Hotaru-san is wrong in the way that people don't just sell chicken wings in dagashi stores anymore? And there's chocolate. I think I've seen those stuff before, just not in typical dagashi fashion of course. Wheat chocolate is pretty common as a snack in Southeast Asia too, and those also won't melt under the summer heat. And FYI I live near the equator so I know.
Sayashi is so smart she makes Hotaru look dumb haha
P.S. I'll still be reading this manga despite the fact that the new season of Anime is coming next year because I know I'm still behind the content they are going to cover. I mean, who is Hajime?

漫画 A Channel
The new chapter (103) talks about Keiko, Yuuko's sister if you still remember who she is. (FYI voiced by Iguchi Yuka in A Channel +smile OVA) She meets Tooru on the streets and Tooru, professionally and in a matured fashion, treated her to a drink in the nearby cafe and helps Keiko kill time before she meets her sister. In all A Channel fashion too it's nothing but jokes, super misunderstandings of how cute/cool Tooru is between the sisters, and I'm glad Run isn't involved in any of this haha
Keiko is thinking too much here tbh
(On the other hand can you get hit on by me? Hehe)

映画 Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man Tell No Tales
"Skeleton walks into a bar, orders a beer and a mop." I mean, how have I never heard this joke, Uncle Jack? *laughs*
We're back with the good old Pirates series, and boy do we have a lot to talk about. I seriously thought this was the last of the series though, but no this was not really. But hey, let's talk about the fifth film of the franchise I too am not familiar with, shall we? Legend says about Jack Sparrow's history, where he was still a young pirate and sailed with his father (I assume) in the seven seas on the Black Pearl. The thing is, led by Spanish Royal Navy, Salazar has decided to bring an end to piracy (not like, illegal downloads today though lol) by hunting down all pirate ships to end the troubles of sea. Sadly, being duped by the quickly succeeded Captain Sparrow, he was tricked into the Devil's Triangle, which led to a curse of the Spaniard and his crew to be forever undead, stuck in the Triangle forever. Jack Sparrow, after close to half a decade of losing to Blackbeard and finally getting back his ship (see previous movie, and that Spaniard are different from this one if I'm not wrong) while still unable to crack the lid (of the bottle) is left stuck with a small improperly made ship with his crew which is about to leave his ass behind lol. (Hey, pirate talk, so no censorship) Bring in Carina Symth, horologist (yes the front part sounds like whore, pirate talk) and astronomer, who has understood what his father left her with the book and decided to search for the truth while mistakenly being hunted as a witch. (Hey, science is no myth, ladies and gentlemen. My future salary depends on it lol) Combined with Will Turner's son Henry Turner who seeks a solution to save his father from the ship curse (recall Flying Dutchman), the two decide to aim for the Triden of Poseidon to resolve the above crisis. What crisis? Jack did it, as always. He traded his compass for a drink and thus betrayed the item, and unknown to him, was apparently the key to releasing the undead crew. And thus they are released from the Triangle, leading their ship (I wouldn't call that a ship) to eradicate ships one after another. Bringing to the attention of now pirate rich Barbossa (that one with the fake leg and the ten ships) (okay I promise to keep this short I'm just practising my writing skills lol) who has been removed of his ships, he ended up having to make a deal to hunt down the Sparrow under the threat of Salazar. I'll not dictate what happened in the process, but the end is most important. Because of Barbossa's knowledge of the stars (his star as a pirate to follow home, and the name to his child) and the seas (being former possessor of Gallilei Gallileo's diary which includes the ruby), he double-crosses the undead in typical pirate fashion, discovers that he was leading himself to the Trident of Poseidon with the girl who managed to figure out everything herself, which is now no surprise considering it's his daughter. The clue on the book assumes that the Trident exists with "every curse of the sea" (I'll assume all that Poseidon had on curse), and of course, destroying it will alleviate all of them. And so they did, but led to the loss (I wouldn't say death here because it's not the final movie yet lol) of Barbossa in order to save the others and also facilitated the union of Henry with his father and of course Carina, to whom you could just call her Barbossa now. What happens next? A hint at the end of the movie (you missed it? how could you) signals the return of a familiar claw (SPOILERS) owned by none other than the evil Davy Jones, which I assume will lead to the end of the franchise. Well, technically he's not cursed (by the Trident), but then, what is he? What will he do to harm the fellows of the sea? Maybe we will find out then.
This movie in a nutshell haha also the only thumbnail I was interested and spoiler free.
(Carina undressing was a close second, but hey, I wanted to make a GIF haha)
Final conclusion to this series before I end this off for another day aye (lol), but suffice it to say people need to be more open to the series development, and not dwell on too much on the love tale that is Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann. Come on, I know that shit. Even my sis loves that. And then the third or fourth movie came out and everyone started to hate the series for continuing on the pirate tales. Hey guess what? They delivered. They gave you back the good old couple. Add in the son with a wife he carried back on her port (lol), and you've got a happy ending for now and a prospective happy ending in the future. Hey, I'll be looking forward to a nicer future with these people of the seas, and perhaps, it'll lead to the conclusion we'll end to love. (Nah, it's not possible with people today even Star Wars is disappointing apparently) Still, I liked this series, which is why I chased this show from the 3rd movie (and thus wasn't heavily affected by the love part) and have not been disappointed. Kudos to whoever did the special effects for the undead and especially the sharks because that was too real tbh what happens if you got bit on the part where its jaw didn't exist? Haha just joking, but I love the direction of where this series is going, and I'm optimistic for a good ending despite feeling like a revival of a money-making opportunity. (Happy, idiots?) Take your time Disney; make this series end good.

I'm not going to waste more time to talk about Klassic Note other than that final review of the year of Ten-chan's new single, so be sure to check that out if you liked her. Cya guys next year then, and until then... I wish I wouldn't cough till the following year. Turns out I may have to. Well, to each his set of problems. Mine just happens to be of my own cause I guess. Bye!

P.S. The new format does look a lot better so I might just use this starting from next week. What do you think? *silence* Oh I'm talking to myself? Oh well whatever haha

The Klassic Note Review 2017.12 Issue 1

Hey, time for another review. And thank goodness I don't have to do this next year or I'll be breaking a new record in terms of from release to review. Then again, we missed the allocated time period of every year's Klassic Note already, so I guess this is its first exception. Good reminder to all that you should never allow money to get in the way of delivery dates (because cheaper means take more time apparently) especially when it's close to Christmas. *laughs* Anyways, let's move on.

This is a review of Ten-chan's new single which released like nearly two weeks ago, so let's see if this still holds. Remember: I'm doing my ranking as I'm reviewing this. Is she in the ranks? Hehe I'll leave you to think about it

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
Amamiya Sora - Eternal [Single]
Limited Edition Regular Edition
(Trivia: They're the same, but which Ten-chan do you think is cooler? Thanks for the close-up on the Regular Edition as usual hehe)

Origin: We may have missed her for quite some time, so let's talk about her. Voice actress newcomer award winner, 2nd batch of members from talent company MusicRay'n, member of new generation pop idol group TrySail (I've reviewed three singles this year here), and apparently a very good singer. In recent years I guess especially since her first album back in 2016 producers and composers have noticed her potential in singing power songs which she has done multiple times over her first three singles with Anime and Game tie-ins, and this time round they decided to give it their all. Introducing to you Amamiya Sora's strongest power single yet, and I must say, I'm impressed.

(1) Eternal
The song spells plenty of power than trouble at first listen and that is good. Before giving this song and hearing at first preview it totally reminds me of another very familiar song and melody from back in 2014, Hikasa Youko's "EX:FUTURIZE". Especially in the chorus, this actually brings more familiarity than negativity to the song itself, which is great to be honest. It almost feels like another Anime opening theme song, if the industry isn't filled with them already. The lyrics also had plenty of meaning, and ignoring the lack of English proficiency (sorry Ten-chan) the words gives much empowerment to whoever listens to it and makes you feel like leaping into another world. An awesome world with her, we hope. And that is eternal, we hope. What may not be though, are the usual bridge part of the song which will certainly fall through once I end up liking this song.
Rating: 4 stars (Positively Average)

(2) Marvelous scene
As usual the B-side takes more credit even as I review this, but this is more of a give and take in my case. The style of the song is quite similar to the previous song, and the melody is more acceptable because the resemblance didn't hit upon me as I listen to this, actually giving it points for being slightly toned down compared to the previous track. It's also the familiar pop rock tune we get to hear in almost every other release she has till date, which is a good thing. The chorus brings even more feel when you realise the lyrics is so nicely fitting the English to describe what world of despair and hope the words want us to believe in. Add the two together and you get a very satisfactory song overall, and that says things because I'll be listening to it often. Also, it's not often that something sounds cool and yet you can still hear Ten-chan singing with a certain level of cuteness when she hits the high note, which makes this even better in comparison to the serious tune before.
Rating: 4 stars (Strikingly Average)

Conclusion: This is a very good Amamiya Sora single. If you're looking to giving her a chance, this is it. I cannot convince you more. Compared to her debut single which I reviewed three years ago (man, it has been so long?) this has surpassed that by a lot. We don't have emotional tunes. We don't have crazy EDM tunes (lol). But we have power. Concealed in two songs by the new attractive power voice we can get in the next generation of Japanese voice actresses. Take a listen, and you'll see if I'm right to exaggerate or not.

I don't get to hear serious Ten-chan every time, but when I do, I'll be amazed.

-Kaineng, on the Klassic Note

(Sorry if the above review sounds weird or even totally biased because I'm trying to cover the fact I have to rank 200+ songs this year right at this period. Man, this review should've been done earlier)

THE PACKAGE
You can see I took out the CD before taking the above shot lol I'm sorry I totally forgot the order lol
Anyways, let's take some time to appreciate once again (like back in 2012) how wonderful the CD is done. Inserts, booklet, the CD... everything. Also, don't ask why I would take that last one of a special gift from (you guessed it) Aniplex+ when there are half a dozen other outlets with way better gifts to offer. *sigh* As soon as I know I can give this single I went from Animate (*sigh*) to Tower Records (personal favourite) to Gamers to the one from ANIPLEX+, so sucks to be me, okay? I didn't know her new single was this popular and thought I could take my time. Turns out everyone is as hyped as me two weeks ago haha
Also also, the shot below is "terrible" (you won't notice because low-res image!) but as I said I'm rushing for time so whatever lol

You want me to talk about the music video? You know why I didn't talk about the total-fanservice-only-two-scenes-shot-dynamically music video, right?? *laughs* Then again, I'm not into cool Ten-chan so no close-up shots this time hehe

This is it then. I've got a lot of Klassic Note things to do and since I only do them once a year, it's hard to remember the order and do them correctly. Automation man, it's not helping much haha. Cya guys next time then, and hopefully by then, I'll be ready. And don't ask if Ten-chan is in the list. Spoilers: She will be. Okay bye!

The Klassic Note "Searching Stars Project" Part 4

In case you don't know what this is, I explore what all the artists that I've given at least a song to, are doing today.

This project will exclude all new artists whom I've given in 2017. The list shall follow the one from Hall of Fame (not in order) (if you don't know that's a thing yet go to the Official Website), and shall be done in the following 5W1H format: [unless stated otherwise, in square brackets]
  • Who are they, in English/Romaji [in Japanese]
  • What was their best impression thus far/back then [One Hit Wonder - only impression]
  • When I started IN KLASSIC NOTE, and with what song/release
  • Where did it get lost, if I did [Active Artist - constantly giving songs]
  • Why I still care [One Hit Wonder - don't care; Disbanded/Retired - care, but gone before I can]
  • How are they doing now: The good, the bad, and whatever applies to them as of 2017
Lightning Rounds will only include the first and last point with the second point labelled as "One Hit Wonder" for simplicity. The Hall of Fame list will be updated on their status once each part is done, ie. strikeout on artist name to signify disbandment/inactive.
[*Information accurate as of 2017.12.27]

KANA-BOON
  • Four piece rock band focusing on generic and alternative rock styles
  • Their best impression is probably from 2015 single "Nandemo Nedari" and in 2017 "Fighter"
  • Started in 2015 with Anime "Naruto" ending theme song "Silhouette"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because I like their melodies, whether it's given to Anime or just their original tunes. Problem is I can never accept the other style of this band which is quick-paced speech and some off-beat melodies
  • They are active in the music industry performing lives and rock festivals. In 2017 they released two singles and an album
moumoon
  • Two piece pop band focusing on generic pop melodies
  • Their best impression is still likely their first impression single B-side "BF"
  • Started in 2015 with Anime "Assassination Classroom" ending theme song "Hello,shooting-star"

  • Pop duo focusing on generic pop and Anime songs

  • In 2017 they released their first album which I reviewed and a single which I didn't haven't
7!!
  • Four piece pop rock band focusing on generic pop and sometimes ballad tunes
  • Their best impression is still their first song I've given them
  • Started in 2015 with Anime "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" ending theme song "Orange"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because (it may be too late but) I see the potential in their melodies and they never fail to make the songs as appealing as possible. Transitioning themselves to write more ballad tunes makes them even more appealing in the long run
  • In 2017 they released their best album in their 7th year into music and before that an original album which I reviewed
TWEEDEES
  • Pop duo consisting of composer Ooki Reiji and drama actress Kiyoura Natsumi

=====END OF LIGHTNING ROUND=====

Tokyo Karan Koron
  • Four piece rock band focusing on generic rock and alternative rock styles
  • Their best impression is likely every topic song of the two albums I've reviewed, namely from 2016 and 2017 albums
  • Started in 2015 with "Spice"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because I appreciate their one style which is those upbeat songs, but am still not used to their other style which is rather freestyle in general
  • In 2017 they changed to an independent music label, releasing two singles and a full album under that
SpecialThanks
  • Four piece rock band focusing on alternative and especially punk rock styles
  • Their best impression is still likely their first song I've given
  • Started in 2015 with "Love begets love"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because I like their music styles more often than not, and their melodies are okay for me to give them more often than other rock artists, despite the punk rock genre. Even then, they have been supplementing their albums with music videos which explain their popularity
  • In 2017 they released a full album with (at time of writing) four music videos online to view. They are slated to release a new mini-album in February 2018
Yoru no Honki Dance
  • Four piece rock band focusing on dance rock and rock n' roll styles
  • Their best impression is from their recent releases especially their topic songs
  • Started in 2015 with single "By My Side"

Earphones

  • Their best impression is likely from their 3rd single "Hikari no Saki e"
  • Started in 2015 with single "Mimi no Naka e"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because they have potential since they three sound good together. However in recent years they have changed styles thanks to Anime they sing for and also songs given to them in g eneral
  • They are planning on releasing their 2nd album in 2018 after doing two singles from 2016 to 2017
amazarashi
  • Band stemmed from singer-songwriter Akita Hiromu
  • His best impression is likely the first song I've given him
  • Started in 2015 with Anime "Ranpo Kitan" opening theme song "Speed to Masatsu"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because his typical style is good and he sings well for Anime. Problem is his other style which is very freelance including recitals and freestyle music
  • In 2017 he released two singles from game "NiER" and Anime "Boku no Hero Academia" and an original album
Sayuri
  • Singer-songwriter also known as "Sanketsu Shoujo Sayuri" (Trans. Hypoxia Girl Sayuri)
  • Her best impression is likely from her 2nd single in 2016 "Sore wa Chiisana Hikari no You na"
  • Started in 2015 with Anime "Ranpo Kitan" ending theme song "Mikazuki"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because her compositions are strong and are, with assistance, produced with impact which gave her her nickname today
  • In 2017 she released a single for Anime "Koi to Uso" and also her first original album. She is slated to release a new single in 2018
Scenarioart
  • Three piece rock band famous for having female drummer as vocalist with guitarist as duet
  • Their best impression is likely the first song I've given them
  • Started in 2015 with Anime "Subete ga F ni Naru" ending theme song "Nana Hitsuji"

  • In 2017 they released an original album and sang a single for Anime "BORUTO" ending theme song
TrySail
  • Three piece voice actress Anime pop group
  • Their best impression was the topic song from their 1st album in 2016 "Hikaru Kakera"
  • Started in 2015 with single "Youthful Dreamer"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because, like many groups before them, they sound good together, and composers and producers are giving them good songs (see below) in order for them to excel
  • In 2017 they released two singles respectively for Anime "Demi-chan wa Kataritai" and "Eromanga-sensei", and their 2nd full album later in the year
Cocoro Auction
  • Four piece indie pop rock group focusing on generic pop styles
  • Their best impression is likely from mini-album topic song "Fly Site"
  • Started in 2015 with "Semishigure"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because I like their style but to a less extent in recent years. Still, I see potential in them for me to give them more songs in the future once they abandoned their indie style image
  • In 2016 they major debut under a self-run label, releasing a mini-album in 2016. In 2017 they released two mini-albums, one in original work and the other as conclusion to their drama-based music video series since their debut. In 2018 they are planning to release their first full album. Also, they are set to form an acoustic group "CCR UNPLUGGED" with music group "Melody Kitchen"

=======LIGHTNING ROUND=======
Bentham
  • Four piece rock band
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • They have been active ever since their initiation to a new major music label (Pony Canyon, if you wonder) in 2017, and have been releasing new songs since. In the year they released two singles and their first full album
Saitou Johnny
  • Singer-songwrtier from composer group Goose house
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • He has been fairly active in his own solo music career, doing lives and such. He has not released any new songs under his name though, besides the Members Compilation for Goose house in 2016
SCOTT GOES FOR
  • Four piece composer group
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • They have only released one album so far
Asakamidori
  • Four piece indie rock band
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • They have since then released a full album in 2017 (which I have not reviewed), with an improved version of the song I gave back in 2015 available as a music video
Silent Siren
  • Four piece idol rock band focusing on generic rock and dance rock
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Their compositions mostly leverages on their regular composer who may or may not write good songs for them. And since they are kind of a idol based group (somewhat like SCANDAL) songs written are also focused on that aspect which is less than appealing to me. Oh, activity? They are a very active group, and in 2017 they released three singles and topped it up with an album
MICHI

=====END OF LIGHTNING ROUND=====

Miyawaki Shion
  • Pop singer, mostly for anything and everything, sometimes Anime
  • Her best impression was from 2016 mini-album "Nakiyanda Sora"
  • Started in 2016 with Anime "Assassination Classroom" ending theme song "Kaketa Tsuki"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because of the many good tunes given to her, mostly thanks to composer ArmySlick
  • She is still fairly active today. In 2017 she released digital singles to movie and drama tie-ins, but a new release has not been scheduled
Takezawa Migiwa
  • Singer-songwriter graduated from composer group Goose house
  • Her best impression is likely the first song I gave her... oh no, it's the second one "I like"
  • Started in 2016 with album song "Michell"
  • [Inactive Artist]
  • I kind of care because I see she has potential in writing songs I will like, and I have given her multiple chances on the album I reviewed
  • She has been deep in own composition in order to bring out a new image for her solo music career. In 2017 she released a new mini-album in preparation for comeback as an active artist in 2018
Mrs. GREEN APPLE
  • Five piece rock band focusing on pop rock and hard rock styles
  • Their best impression is still likely the first song I gave them
  • Started in 2016 with "Speaking"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because I think they sound great with songs that fit in melody, but mostly deterred by their aggressive style as they hardly sing emotional tunes too
  • In 2017 they have released an album and a single
Minase Inori
  • Voice actress, Anime artist
  • Her best impression is likely still the first song I gave her
  • Started in 2016 with single "harmony ribbon"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care so long as good songs are given to her, and it need not be Anime related since she is capable of releasing new songs without Anime
  • In 2017 she released her first full album followed by two singles with one of them as Anime "Tsurezure Children" opening theme song
The Floor
  • Four piece indie rock band
  • Their best impression is likely still their first song I gave
  • Started in 2016 with single "Lip Service"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because as an indie band I see a lot of potential in them. I also got the chance to review one of their releases this year (which typically doesn't come digitally) so it's good to find out what they are made of
  • In 2017 they released their 2nd mini-album after releasing a full album and another mini-album in 2016
LILI LIMIT
  • Five piece pop rock band focusing on alternative and electronic rock styles
  • Their best impression is likely still the first song I've given them
  • Started in 2016 with song "Festa"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because I've gotten a lot more interested in them and have been following them since their major debut (more below) and hope they will release more songs I'll hear as I see the potential in the previously indie band
  • They have been very active ever since signing with a major music label (Ki/oon Music, subsidiary of Sony Music Japan if you're interested) releasing EPs and albums back to back. In 2017 they released a mini-album with a new mini-album slated for release in February 2018
SHISHAMO
  • Three piece rock band focusing on generic rock and sometimes alternative rock
  • Their best impression was from their first album "Boku ni Kanojo ga Dekitanda"
  • Started in 2016 with summer song "Nettaiya"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because they share a style of rock music I find familiar, unfortunately I'm really deterred in their compositions because they can't come up with decent melodies for me to give them more
  • They are very active in the music industry, performing lives and in rock festivals. In 2017 they released two singles
Cocco
  • Singer-songwriter mostly focusing on emotional pop and folk rock styles
  • Her best impression was the first song I gave her
  • Started in 2016 with album topic song "Yuushuu no Bi"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because her Western-influenced (who isn't?) styles and her impeccable strength in finding the uniqueness in her music, which shows in her works.
  • In 2017 she released her 20th anniversary best albums and is still actively invited to perform in major rock festivals
plenty
  • Three piece rock band focusing on alternative rock styles
  • Their best impression is from single "Sayonara Yori, Yasashii Kotoba"
  • Started in 2016 with album topic song "Kokoro ni wa Kaze ga Fuki Atarashii Asa wo Mitanda"
  • [Disbanded]
  • I cared because I liked what I hear, from a slightly different variant of their usual style plus emo rock tunes, which I found in place with immediately.
  • In 2017 they released their final album and announced their disbandment after 8 years in the music industry
Numakura Manami
  • Voice actress, Anime singer known for singing power beats
  • Her best impression is likely from 2nd single "Climber's High"
  • Started in 2016 with debut single "Sakebe"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because of the topic songs mostly backed up by famous Anime composer from WEST GROUND (Nishibe Makoto, from MyAnimeList.net) and other than that I appreciate Nu-chan and her great singing voice and I see that too as potential
  • In 2017 she released a single and her first full album
Asakura Momo
  • Voice actress, Anime singer
  • Her best impression... 2nd single topic song maybe? "Tokubetsu Ichiban!!"
  • Started in 2016 with HoneyWorks assisted debut single "Ashita wa Kimi to"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care mostly because she's cute (lol I said it) and also because she sings for Anime, but of course like the others it still depends on the songs which are given to her
  • In 2017 she released two singles for Anime "PriPri Chii-chan"

=======LIGHTNING ROUND=======
Sayaka
  • Singer-songwriter, keyboardist of composer group Goose house
  • [One Hit Wonder]

  • She is very active as a veteran in the Anime music industry. In 2017 she released two singles and is slated to release a new album in early 2018

AOP

=====END OF LIGHTNING ROUND=====

Haha good I'm done. But it's not over yet. Because after this I'll have good time doing up the Song Awards (which is why I rushed this good) and considering whether fumika should take top spot this time round considering I've not given her the past two times she was that close... Oops, I said too much lol. Cya guys next time then, and until then... I may just watch another movie (Pirates, probably) to fill in the Entertainment News this weekend otherwise it'll get real empty haha bye

Monday 25 December 2017

The Klassic Note "Searching Stars Project" Part 3

I hope not to finish this during Christmas, so here we are. Happy Holidays, everyone. Hey, if you need an artist or two to listen to, why not try the list below? Try finding on this page for the word 'active' for starters haha

Man, scrolling through this must be boring. You must be me in order to read through all this.

*silence*

Okay, never mind. I intend to finish this anyway, so let's get it done and over with.

  • Why I still care [One Hit Wonder - don't care; Disband/Retired/Graduated - gone before I can]
  • How are they doing now: The good, the bad, and whatever applies to them as of 2017
Lightning Rounds will only include the first and last point with the second point labelled as "One Hit Wonder" for simplicity. The Hall of Fame list will be updated on their status once each part is done, ie. strikeout on artist name to signify disbandment/inactive.
[*Information accurate as of 2017.12.25]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
  • Pop rock singing duo and band, singer-songwriters themselves
  • Their best impression is likely from the first single I reviewed "DAIKIRAI-DAISUKI"
  • Started from 2012, with Anime "Binbougami ga!" ending theme song "Koi Boudou"
  • It kind of got lost after I reviewed their 2013 album, but it's also likely because I couldn't get more (see below) even though I think their style is alright for pop songs
  • [Disbanded]
  • They have announced their disbandment in 2015, with their last album in 2014 and the total number of releases under major label countable with just one hand. Yeah.
ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE
  • Three-piece rock band focusing on alternative rock and punk rock
  • Their best impression is likely still their first impression, followed by a close second from their first album "Forever" of the same title as the release
  • Started in 2012, with "Forget About It"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because they sing English songs for a bunch of Japanese artists - which is a rarity besides SpecialThanks which I'll touch on soon, and their style is good most of the time. Their punk style also doesn't deter me unlike many similar artists
  • They released their 2nd album in end 2016 which was pretty good, they collaborate with other English artists here and there too, they go by their short-handed name "ALT MED" (which is also the album title), and have been fairly active since I listened to them.
SECONDWALL
  • (Sort of) indie rock band focusing on heavy styles including punk rock and melodic punk
  • Their best impression is from 2015 with album topic song "Identity"
  • Started in 2012 with unreleased (as in not in disc form) song "RESOUND"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I sort of care because I think they have potential. Knowing of them as an indie band from the start is encouraging, their album in 2015 is impressive, and now... I'm here and there as I struggle to give their songs. Only time will tell.
  • In 2017 they released their 3rd mini-album (which I did not review) and released a limited edition live only single later in the year. They have been fairly active since they announced their first mini-album back in 2013.
Team.Nekokan [Neko]
  • Composer duo, sometimes singers, both are guys but write for Anime girls
  • Their best impression is likely their first composition (I wouldn't say it's sung by them)
  • Started in 2012 with Anime "Kokoro Connect" ending theme song "Kokoro no Kara featuring Amaoto Junka"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I don't really care because it's for Anime. Then again they are just composers, which goes to say their singing isn't as attractive or impressive as we would think. Still, they make good songs to say the least.
  • They are an independent composer group just like sasakure.UK and Q-MHz (they'll be covered soon, also they comprise of Anime composers which is kind of different) but focus on doujin works (ie. indie, sometimes rated, in local context) mostly which is shown after their full album release for Anime in 2013. In 2017 they released three separate singles for artists ranging from pop to vocaloid tunes (yes Hatsune Miku included)
PHONO TONES
  • Four-piece instrumental group focusing on pop rock melodies
  • Their best impression is likely from their first mini-album, even though I'm not biased to any of them
  • Started in 2012 with "NANO-MUGEN COMPILATION" music "The World Is Yours"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because
  • In 2017 they released two singles in conjunction and in tandem with pianist and composer ADAM at, one under their name and the other in his name, in collaboration. Yeah. Confusing as heck. Before that they have released their 2nd full album in 2015.
mouse on the keys
  • Three piece piano-based instrumental focused on jazz, funk and sometimes electronic music
  • Their best impression is likely their only
  • Started in 2012 with music piece "saigo no bansan"
  • I got lost because I didn't care about their tunes which, in majority, I cannot give. I've gone back time and time again to find something acceptable by my standards to no avail.
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • They are doing pretty well now. I know they have been doing live tours (including where I live in) for many years. Their latest album is in 2015
eufonius
  • Two piece pop rock group, also music producers themselves
  • Their best impression is likely their first
  • Started in 2012 with Anime "Kokoro Connect" opening theme song "Paradigm"
  • I got lost because of their background, because they write and perform songs irregularly, and their prime activity is not in Anime (see below)
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Their latest single is yet again - in 2017 - for Anime once more, after their solo album in 2016 which I did review. They mostly write for Anime though if not writing for solo releases which are typically albums or mini-albums as such, which is slightly different from your usual Anime production artist

=======LIGHTNING ROUND!!!=======
9nine
  • Idol group comprising of four members as of time of writing
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Their Wikipedia article (as of writing) provides a great timeline to show how the members came and go, and as of 2012 when I reviewed the one single there were five members on the release cover lol. They are still active with two singles released in 2017.
deepNow
  • Three-piece rock indie band
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • As of their Twitter which ended in about 2014, the drummer of the group went on to form three-piece band with two other people "Lazuli" and have been fairly active since. (I will not mention about their short hiatus from May to August 2017)
MINAMI NiNE
  • Three-piece indie rock band focusing on punk and melodic rock
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Today's band feels a little different from before. Their image greatly changed from strong to somewhat relaxed with their first full album in 2016 as you can hear from the music videos. As of 2017 they released two mini-albums
room free fall
  • Three-piece pop rock indie band
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Today they are nowhere to be seen, to be honest. Their official Twitter is in private, and their latest music video is back in 2014. They have not been doing well since that full album, I guess
CLIFF EDGE
  • Three-piece pop group, focusing on rap and hip-hop genres
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • They changed music labels in 2014, one year after I've given them two songs (one was collaboration from Lil'B, one was with), and they are still releasing albums (less of singles) till date. Their latest full album was in 2016
=====END OF LIGHTNING ROUND=====

Neat’s
  • Singer-songwriter focusing on pop tunes, originated from RYTHEM's YUI ie. Niitsu Yui
  • Her best impression thus far was literally the whole of her third album, and of course from her 2nd album topic song "Modern Times"
  • Started in 2013 with song "BBB" and also her 1st album
  • [Active Artist] (see below)
  • I care because I liked her music style. Her subtle pop styles sometimes playing a lot more in style than in melody is precisely the reason I'm still listening to her songs.
  • It has been rather rough for her since her 3rd album in 2014 (which I reviewed) because she has been quiet, and until now in 2017 did she announce her return as a musician next year, under her real name Niitsu Yui, which will changer her image (she hopes) for the last time along with an accented pop music style, apparently. We shall see if that works for her again.
yucat
  • Singer-songwriter focusing on punk and gothic rock, originated from RYTHEM's YUKA
  • Her best impression is also the first song I gave, and another time in her 3rd mini-album from 2015 "Dr.Code"
  • Started in 2013 with song "505" which I didn't give until in 2016 "Stop Me!"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because apart from her slightly deterring style her melodies work, and I've gotten used to her style over the past five years to be honest. Will most definitely stay to listen for more.
  • She has been active every year releasing mini-albums, unlike many artists who release full albums or just a bunch of singles. In 2017 she released her fifth mini-album after her 5th anniversary best album which is basically a compilation of all her releases thus far
Hikasa Youko
  • Voice actress, Anime artist singer
  • Her best impression is likely from her only concept album topic song "Glamorous days"
  • Started in 2013 with single and Anime "Attack on Titan" ending theme song "Utsukushiki Zankoku na Sekai"
  • [Inactive Artist - gone quiet for a long time]
  • I care because songs given to her she sings well, and she has a good singing voice, as evidenced even from long ago on her Anime character songs, most memorably as Akiyama Mio from Anime "K-ON!"
  • She has gone real quiet since her first full album in 2014, likely signalling her departure from being a solo artist, so that's it I guess

=======LIGHTNING ROUND!!!=======
Teshima Aoi
  • Anime singer, sometimes voice actress
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • She is still releasing songs as a solo artist, so that's good, but mostly never without it too. Her latest original album is from 2014 and her latest Anime tie-in single is in 2016
Annabel
  • Anime artist, sometimes lyricist, sometimes accompanying vocalist
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • She is doing well as far as I know as an Anime artist with her latest single in 2015. She also is in many bands as accompanying vocalist including binaria (yanaginagi's sub-band group) and siraph (School Food Punishment composer)
Linked Horizon
  • Anime group run by composer Revo, focusing on symphonic metal style
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Considering he's been singing often for Anime "Attack on Titan" on their latest movies and recent Anime season, I say he's doing pretty well for himself. His group's new album is based on the Anime.
Imai Masaki
  • Solo artist, accompanying vocalist in collaborations
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • If not for Anime "Kokoro Connect" I don't think I'll ever know this guy. His official website shows his activity, including singing with collaborated artists in releases over the years and actively participating in acoustic-based music program "MUSIC FAIR". A calefare for music, if you will.
Aso Natsuko
  • Anime artist and drama actress
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • She has announced hiatus after an album and final live in 2014, and thus been active in the drama industry, starring in various TV shows, commercials, drama and musicals today.
Kitamura Eri
  • Voice actress, Anime solo artist
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • As a voice actress, her roles in Anime naturally get her character songs to sing to, and then for Anime she has regularly been releasing new songs under her name. In 2017 she released a mini-album
=====END OF LIGHTNING ROUND=====

Komatsu Mikako
  • Voice actress, Anime artist
  • Her best impression... I don't know actually, but her 2nd album was still the most I've given her in a release. Also, 2016 single "Imagine day, Imagine life!"
  • Started in 2013 with Anime "Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi" ending theme song "Owaranai Melody wo Utaidashimashita."
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because firstly, she has a good voice, as expected for all voice actor based artists today apparently. Secondly, it's because she recently around 2016 changed music label thanks to Anime composer group (will mention in future post) Q-MHz which have since then dedicated to writing her out for a new music career.
  • She has became active since her new initiation with a new music label and backup composer group Q-MHZ recognition (see above). Her latest release was a full album in May 2017
Iwasaki Ai
  • Singer-songwriter focusing on acoustic pop styles
  • Her best impression was also likely her first song I have given. Also, her 2016 full album "It's Me" (100% recommended)
  • Started in 2013 with "NANO-MUGEN COMPILATION" song "Hanataba"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because I like her style, if her style has always been from that album I heard. Of course it may not be so, but still, she has potential for me to be watching her release new songs, that's for sure.
  • She is still an active artist in the industry, for sure. Her latest single was in 2017 in collaboration for a commercial product I think, and has released music videos to get people into her latest release which is the album from 2016
cinema staff
  • Four-piece rock band focusing on alternative rock and hard rock styles
  • Their best impression is literally every topic song from their albums (lol), but most notably from early years of Klassic Note was in 2013 "Seiki no Hakken"
  • Started in 2013 with Anime "Attack on Titan" ending theme song "great escape"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because they are good. And I think I can acclaim them to be the next generation rock band in Klassic Note. Their new albums every year are hard to disappoint, and even so are still actively providing songs to Anime, drama and more.
  • They have been real active, considering they release albums every year since their major debut back in 2012. In 2017 they released their new album "Netsugen" with topic song known as "the continuation of great escape" titled "pulse"
Kuso Iinkai
  • Three-piece rock band most infamously known for missing a drummer (lol)
  • Their best impression till date can still be the first song I gave, but worthy mentions are all the romance songs they've written, eg. 2016 "Boku ga Yuki wo Kirau Wake"
  • Started in 2013 with song "Hadouhou Girlfriend" (music video online)
  • I kind of wandered off when they started playing with their peculiar music style which I kind of dislike, but other than that I have been actively giving new songs as much as I can
  • They are active in the industry since their initiation with a major label in 2014. In 2017 they released their 3rd full album which I did review
Ray
  • Anime artist, sometimes lyricist?
  • Her best impression... I would say all of them are fairly good hehe
  • Started in 2013 with Anime "Nagi no Asukara" opening song "lull ~Soshite Bokura wa~"
  • [Retired]
  • I did somewhat care to the extent I've been waiting just to give her new songs, considering how hard it is to give Anime songs not catered for her or my tastes
  • She has announced her retirement from music in late 2016, confirming the end of her music career in mid 2017 after her best album
fhana
  • Four-piece band composed of three composers, focusing on Anime song composition with vocalist "towana"
  • Their best impression is also likely the first song I've ever given
  • Started in 2013 with Anime "Gingitsune" (didn't watch) opening theme song "tiny lamp"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I somewhat care for their songs but since they moved on to focus on duo vocals and had inconsistency in melody composition considering it's from three people I wouldn't comment on why I didn't give as much as I should
  • They are active in the Anime music industry, with the three composers writing for various Anime considering without towana they are literally a music group. In 2017, they have releases two singles related to Anime and are going on overseas performances starting from 2018
yanaginagi
  • Anime singer-songwriter, sometimes music producer?
  • Her best impression... can I give her latest single which I reviewed? Okay, from 2017 "over and over", and from her album in 2014 "Tetragon"
  • Started in 2013 with Anime "Nagi no Asukara" ending theme song "Aqua Terrarium"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because I want to give her more songs that she doesn't write for Anime because her style for Anime is vastly different from her usual style, as many Anime composers do.
  • She is active in the Anime music industry. In 2017, most notably she released two singles at the same date for two Anime, and took her first music and soundtrack producer role for one of the Anime "Just Because!"

=======LIGHTNING ROUND!!!=======
sasakure.UK
  • Vocaloid pop songwriter, mainly focusing on vocaloid songs, sometimes pop and Anime songs
  • [One Album Wonder]
  • He is active as a composer in the Anime music industry, typically writing songs for artists and producing music so he can fill up yearly original album releases. In Klassic Note he wrote for Toyosaki Aki "Flip Flop". Outside he writes most often for GUMI and Hatsune Miku, to name a few.
tacica
  • Two-piece rock band which was previously three piece focused on generic rock
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Since the retirement of the drummer in 2014 they have been rarely active in the industry. Their newest song is from 2015, but they are still actively performing lives
earthmind
  • Three-piece band focusing on electronic pop styles
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • They have not been releasing new songs since the single I gave back in 2013, and there isn't much news after 2014, so...
Base Ball Bear
  • Four-piece rock band focusing on indie and alternative pop and rock tunes
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • In 2016 their guitarist has retired leaving the current group to release new songs. They have been active in rock festivals and live performances, and their latest album is in 2017.
Mary days story
  • Three piece indie rock band
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • I don't know man. No news of them anywhere. I assume they have stopped long time since I heard the one song from their only mini-album release, I guess.
mpi
  • Anime artist, supporting vocalist, sometimes lyricist
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • He is low in profile but rather active in participating in Anime songs from time to time. In 2017 he sang for Anime "Attack on Titan" and "Re:CREATORS" soundtracks
STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION
  • Singer-songwriter, music producer most notable known as R.O.N
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • The guy has used this name multiple times to write for Anime and sing too, and outside Anime he performs for band ROSARYHILL as keyboardist and vocalist, way before this name
FictionJunction
  • Five piece vocal group singing for Anime composer Kajiura Yuki
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • To avoid confusion, I'll only be talking about the group without Kajiura Yuki singing (she doesn't anyway) and without the YUUKA sub group. The group is also only active so long as the composer has time to write songs for them, but considering Kalafina is a more successful group compared to this, I can guess why it has gone quiet. I reviewed their latest album in 2014, and in 2015 they released their live video performance.
FLOW
  • Five piece pop rock group focusing on punk and rap mostly
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • They sing actively for Anime artists outside of releasing original songs themselves, after their best album back in 2015. In 2017 they released one EP
=====END OF LIGHTNING ROUND=====

[Champagne]/[Alexandros]
  • Four piece rock band focusing on generic and also alternative rock styles
  • Their best impression is likely from their album in 2016 "NEW WALL"
  • Started in 2014 with song "Namida ga Koboresou"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because their music style is strong as well as vivid. Sadly I'm very deterred by the use of English in lyrics as well as speech sometimes
  • They are fairly active in the music industry even after having to change their name (you can find out about that yourself). In 2017, they released two singles, a live video release, and a music video compilation
Yuuki Aoi
  • Voice actress, Anime artist
  • Her best impression is still likely the first song I gave her
  • Started in 2014 with "VisuMania"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because... Well, initially it was because I see potential in her pursuit in her solo music career, but (see below) now she sings for Anime credit so I just hope it's good
  • She has been on hiatus from late 2015 because she can't seem to agree with coming up with a style she can be happy with (a rarity in the music industry), but came back in 2017 under a new music label just to sing Anime theme songs.
Goose house
  • Eight seven six people singer songwriter composers group mostly playing pop and acoustic tunes for Anime
  • Their best impression is likely from the albums I reviewed for the most part, from 2015
  • Started in 2014 with Anime "Gin no Saji" ending theme song "Oto no Naru Hou e"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because I see potential in their compositions. Personally I've heard from a couple of them their individual works and I have been impressed and I can see potential for more, even if it may be for Anime
  • They have been active even with departure of composers in recent years. Leader d-iZe left in 2015 and Takezawa Migiwa left in early 2017. Even so, they released two singles and one full album in the year.
Tsuzuri Zukuri
  • Two piece pop band focusing on alternative pop styles and acoustic themes
  • Their best impression is likely still their first song given
  • Started in 2014 with "Tsubame"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because apart from the sub par melodies their style is still one of a kind, apart from being in a more traditional fell it's still okay
  • They released an album in 2017 and have been relatively active since I heard of them
Gotch
  • Solo singer songwriter also known as vocalist ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION Masafumi Gotoh, focusing on pop hip hop styles
  • His best impression is likely from his first album
  • Started in 2014 with album "Can't Be Forever Young"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because his style is still something I didn't get used to, and his melodies somehow are similar to the parent band he was wrong
  • He is fairly active in the industry, performing in lives and rock festivals. In 2017 he released a new single in about two years since his 2nd album, splitting his jobs between here and his parent band
nano.RIPE
  • Four Two piece band focusing on alternative rock styles
  • Their best impression was from single I first reviewed
  • Started in 2014 with single "Toumei na Sekai"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because I liked their styles and melodies in general, and I see potential to hear more
  • They have announced their return after a short hiatus from 2016 and losing half of their band members. They are till now actuveky writing songs for Anime, including a single in 2017 and another slated for release in 2018
Takagaki Ayahi
  • Voice actress, Anime artist
  • Her best impression was from her album song "Watashi no Tokei"
  • Started in 2014 with song "3 leaf clover"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because since she sings for Anime, I can only give chances to songs written for her in albums and single B-sides. Best impression song lyrics was written by Chatmonchy vocalist Hashimoto Eriko
  • She is fairly active in the Anime industry. In 2017 she released two singles for Anime
FLOWER FLOWER
  • Four piece rock band led by former singer songwriter YUI
  • Their best impression is from their first album
  • Started in 2014 with "Kamisama"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because there's still YUI compositions in the group which I missed, and then there's the unusual style she sings today far different from her before. It's kind of a give and take.
  • They have been back in activity after YUI hiatus to settle her marriage and pregnancy. In 2017 they released a single titled "Mannequin"
wacci
  • Five piece pop band focused on generic pop and acoustic styles
  • Their best impression was from 2017 "Ah!Oh!"
  • Started in 2014 with Anime "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" ending theme song "Kirameki"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I kind of care because I think their style is soothing and thus great, but still really deterred by their melodies written by the only vocalist in the group so I won't comment much on that
  • They are fairly active in the music industry, seen performing lives and in rock festivals. In 2017 they released a single and their 2nd album since their major debut back in 2013
.lady.
  • Five piece Anime voice actress group singing for radio show "A&G NEXT GENERATION Lady Go!!"
  • Their best impression is from 2016 "A Little Magic"
  • Started in 2014 with first single "Open Tuning"
  • [Graduated]
  • I kind of care because... they have good songs. I mean, they sing for a radio show, so I won't say much, but the songs are good as far as I've heard, and I've still not heard their only album release
  • They have started since 2012-2013 (the radio show), released theme songs starting from 2014, and ended in 2016 with a full album and graduation live to pass on the time slot to the new generation of voice actresses also known from 2017 as "A&G NEXT BREAKS FIVE STARS"
d-iZe
  • Singer-songwriter, previous leader of composer group Goose house
  • His best impression is still likely the first song I gave
  • Started in 2014 with his first ever album song "sweet lies"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I don't really care because after the first album released back in 2012 (which I reviewed later) he changed styles and melodies quite differently, so I didn't stick around
  • He has graduated from parent group Goose house in 2014 hoping to continue with his solo music career, to some success. He released his new album in 2016 and started lives even touching overseas territories
Satou Satomi
  • Voice actress, Anime Artist
  • Her best impression is still likely the first song I gave her
  • Started in 2014 with Anime "Seitokai Yakuindomo" ending theme song "Mirai Night"
  • [Inactive Artist]
  • I care because as with all voice actress, I liked her singing voice. Sadly in recent years she has been relatively inactive which shows the lack of interest in continuing to release new songs
  • She has been rather inactive since her 3rd single in 2016, before that releasing full album and mini-albums every year
Takebuchi Kei
  • Singer-songwriter, current member of composer group Goose house
  • Her best impression is likely from her mini-album song "MERMAID"
  • Started in 2014 with her first mini-album "KEI's 8"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care because after the one release and her many other compositions in Goose house with some level of English proficiency, she seems like the next best potential to knock it out in the J-Pop industry
  • She has not released songs under her name since her first mini-album in 2014. Other than that she has released a song under her solo title with Goose house members album in 2016 with song "Nakanai no wa, Mou"
Amamiya Sora
  • Voice actress, Anime artist
  • Her best impression is likely from her recent 4th and 5th singles, but I'll say from her album "Absolute Blue"
  • Started in 2014 with Anime "Akame ga Kill" opening theme song "Skyreach"
  • [Active Artist]
  • I care so much, you won't believe. Although early in the time she wasn't given great songs so I practically ignored her 2nd and 3rd singles, and has pretty much came back now
  • In 2017 she released two singles of which one of them I'll be reviewing... sometime soon

=======LIGHTNING ROUND!!!=======
tic tac case
  • Three piece indie rock band

Good Morning America
  • Four piece rock band focusing on hard rock styles
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • I say the above because I've not given enough to justify their existence in Klassic Note btw. They are active in the music industry if you liked their style. In 2017 they released a new album
TOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA
  • ???-piece jazz music group
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Okay as of Wikipedia's statement it currently stands at 9 members. Their latest music release was back in 2014, but that doesn't stop them from appearing in live performances and rock festivals every year
iki
  • Three piece indie rock band
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • I know they released three singles, and that's pretty much it. Their presence is missing in social media, and I've not searched for them since 2015.
BIGNOUN
  • Four piece pop rock band
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • According to their official website they have been quiet since 2015
AKIRA
  • Singer-songwriter focusing on emo rock music
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • She has been fairly active releasing songs for Anime, however her latest single is dated 2016. She was involved in a drama CD for Anime "Ouryuu" in 2017 though, likely hitting drama transition here
Larval Stage Planning
  • Three piece pop group singing mainly for Anime
  • [One Hit Wonder]
  • Since 2014 it has ended up to left a single member and thus used the solo name to release songs for Anime. As of now vocalist Airi has then been doing DJ work

=====END OF LIGHTNING ROUND=====

Sorry once again for the delay, because it's quite a lot and I should've made sure it's done in five parts, but whatever I'll still do it at my own hurried pace. The next one will come earlier though because after Wednesday I'll be busy deciding awards for Klassic Note for this year. So... yes, by Wednesday, and it'll be slightly shorter than the others, I hope. Cya guys then.

Sunday 24 December 2017

The Entertainment News 2017 Edition Issue #52

Uh oh: (It's) "Issue 52 liao". Does that mean the year is over?

Also uh oh: I'm back from a long day and I don't think I can clear all the Anime tonight. I'll see about it.

Good, I cleared it, so here I am. Sadly, this is already going to be late, so sorry to anyone or whatever. Let's do this. And no, the year is not over until I say so. Or at least, until I get the new song rankings up haha

アニメ Just Because!
So wait, once you get accepted means you cannot change your choice? Or you can take and pass as many entrance exams and just choose one? Haha sorry not Japanese student so I have no idea
The new episode (#JustBecause11) is the most cliffhanger of episodes in this series, so sit tight. Almost forgetting that the two are applying for different colleges (universities), I always thought Eita and Natsume will meet each other in the same place, so yeah, I was wrong, and for quite some time haha. The focus this time, after being done with Souma and Morikawa, focuses back on the main trio. From the intro, Komiya clearly doesn't want an answer if she can (even if she wins the competition she wants the other two to be together), Eita wants to pass the exam so he can confess to Natsume who he thinks doesn't like him at all with all the rejection stuff in previous episodes (if you have been following closely), and Natsume wants to pass the exam to the school Eita got accepted into so that... hey, I'll leave the inner tsundere in her, but suffice to say yes this will also lead to confession. Not to go crazy about this, but below is therefore (I swear I thought of this before the ending part) my analysis of this situation, and I'll split them to a YES and a NO, former for accepted/won competition and the latter for otherwise. So, [long post warning] from worst to best ending, if (1) the plot is going for worst ending, it's that all of them are NO, which means all of them won't confess, even Komiya, who desperately want to even if the other two aren't going to. Then if (2) the plot is going for bittersweet happy ending ie. someone's going to feel sad because of the other two or otherwise, is that all of them are YES, meaning Komiya gets to confess, Natsume too, but will find out Eita also got to another different college which will suck, and chances are Komiya will get the jump. And probably with some struggle (if the last episode has that much space for that) Komiya will lose out in the end with the reunion of the other two. And yes, I'm assuming Komiya never gets the win in all cases btw. Lastly, if (3) the plot is going for full-on happy ending with little resolution needed, then the girls are YES, and Eita is NO. This means the two entrance exam takers will be together and Komiya will exclude her need to confess and be confessed. And I'm assuming the same if Komiya is the otherwise too. Whether I'll be right next week? The final episode? Natsume's sister has a better idea than me probably haha
The sister's impersonation of Natsume is perfect haha #siblingstuff
P.S. The animation man, is at its peak worst this episode where Souma and Eita walk down the stairs. Looks like a game glitch with a super-high flight of stairs for some reason lol. On the other hand, the best part is where the two look (at each other, I guess) out into the scenery seemingly for each other they write on the exam paper literally the best the animation team can do hehe the soundtrack's amazing btw good job yanaginagi
P.P.S. Oh wait, it's 2018 already in the story?? *thinks for a moment* Oh it's so they can replay it until the sponsorship is over? I see... haha
[OMAKE!!!
I need a bro tap like this every once in a while tbh
I'll leave the other meme thing for my Facebook feed it's getting empty lol]

アニメ Houseki no Kuni
"I'm jealous of my old self" To be honest, Phos? I liked your old self. You now is serious as heck hehe
The final episode of this series (#HousekiNoKuni12) is not an ending. It's an ending, for an Anime adaptation. Because why? There is no resolution. As shown last week, there is a truth to discover, but there's no result. There's conspiracies among the many beings that live in this world and that moon, but there's no conflict. So what now? Of course this is an easy pitch to let you guys go read the original work, but for me who just watches the adaptation I feel cheated, like some other shows in the past. Leaving it dangling, failing to achieve a result or a state of point we all can be happy to conclude on (unlike for example, slice-of-life shows which can just end with a field trip *wink* Gamers), I feel unsatisfied. Which is not a good thing. I will not mention how lack of content to signify any ending this episode has, but I would still like to compliment what it has shown us thus far. But for the production and animation design to go this far without seeing any future, I feel unfair for them. I don't know if this will get a season two, but if it does, it'll be more exciting than ever. Even so, I'm glad to have taken this journey. So thanks anyway, Anime. I wished it ended on a different note though.
I miss happy-go-lucky Phos. Serious Phos is waaay less entertaining haha

アニメ Blend S
I aspire to be the author that Miu-chan has become. Just, not so dirty-minded haha
Summary and whole emphasis of this series haha
Hey, of course the final episode (#BlendS12) of this series (unlike that other one before *wink*) must be a trip to enjoy snow, and of course to end with a recollection. Very typical of a slice-of-life Anime series so I won't comment on that further, but we learnt a lot. We actually also reached some form of conclusion of the manager Dino wanting to confess his love to Maika-chan even though I think we noticed he did that in the first episode already tbh. Other than that, I still liked the jokes (original or not, because this can be Anime original) from that ski trip, it's good to know of the story before Maika was in the cafe for sure (I mean, they didn't explain how Dino didn't get caught by police before dragging Mafuyu in lol), and all is well with that cross-dress freak. I mean, did you hear that Anime character song? Uh, just a reminder it'll be with the video release in the near future lol. Anyways, this show is great, I had a lot of laughs, it ended better than I thought it would, and all is well in Stile cafe. I mean, if this show didn't make you laugh I don't know what will.
"... And then, there was anal."

(Haha yes I didn't get it wrong Hideri was not a female)
P.S. *saw ending* Okay that is one too much of deja vu from the first episode. We get it Anime, so let it go okay??
P.P.S. Last one - one bad and one good thing about this show. Bad, I suppose it's most likely me not getting used to Dino speaking with a feminine Japanese form ie. using "watashi" and "desu" and so on, because it kind of bugged me but still forgiving as he's a foreigner anyway, so whatever. Good, I suppose I would like to thank the newbie cast that is Waki Azumi (voices Maika), Kitou Akari (voices Kaho) and Haruno Anzu (voices Mafuyu) for the wonderful theme songs. You girls are half the reason I'm watching this series. The other half is just the perfect production combo between A-1 Pictures (animation) and Aniplex (music) because they can do any slice-of-life Anime right. Remember WORKING!!?

アニメ Sangatsu no Lion
"A commemorative match with Souya Meijin?" I mean, you scared, bro?
The new episode (#3Lion33) brings us a lot of joy, something seriously lacking in this show. And I thought they'll just bring me back in the ditch after halfway through the episode, but nope. It went all out. Firstly, Kiriyama wining the Newcomer Tournament. Then again, there's Shimada, the unwanted image of a winner in Kishou Tournament. Hey, what can I say? You have them pros, you get them pros. Shimada celebrates by drinking despite his bad stomach, and Kiriyama... just picked up a new habit of diary writing. But yeah, we always remember the happy stuff, and it's fun to write it down. Like this. *giggles* Anyways, we bring ourselves more focus on a couple of secondary characters, including bring-you-to-the-mountains-and-win-your-heart-over Gakuto-senpai, the school staff including two teachers, vice-principal and the principal lol, and last but not least, 3rd-year Noriguchi-sensei. *laughs* Never felt any more happier in this show, and I hope it'll last a bit longer. Well, not until we're reminded of that match between the main guys and that legend. Hey, gotta face it someday. Besides, it makes of good publicity anyways, so... do your best yes, Kiriyama?
Did I say there was BL in this show? lol
P.S. Wonder who voiced the most idol-like shougi player Gakuto? Look no further, for it is done by the one, the only, Ono Daisuke. Hey, cannot beat that awesomeness, you know. On the other hand, cannot beat that coolness, that Shimada haha

漫画 Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!
The new chapter (57) is... man, I don't want to spoil it for you, but yeah, Uchimaki cross-dressed again. Haha, for what reason I'll not reveal to the extent that the thumbnail below will not reveal anything, but I can talk about the recollection, to say the least. The school has a yearly club Miss Heroine contest it seems, and Usami ended up being the victim of her first year in the club, courtesy of the President for some reason. This time round, it's a two-fer, so we know who else will be included. Unfortunately, someone else we know is cheating. Accomplices too? Man, this is turning out to be some interesting competition to be honest. What happens next? Will Usami win the likes of the school faster than Uchimaki? *laughs*
Deep inside me I wished I get slapped by girls every time I say something wrong lol

漫画 Dagashi Kashi
The new chapter (95) besides getting really on time regular, is focusing on a drink I have no idea about. Well, apparently it's some weird tasty cinnamon drink packaged to look good, but hey, I'll leave it to you to believe whether Sayashi or Hotaru is right about its taste and whatever feels that come with it lol I like how the author reminds us that Hotaru gets excited seeing people taste dagashi for the first time
I always liked an image of Sayashi up close, so here you go hehe

(Yep, it's been some time for this segment, and I'm experimenting for next year's news *thumbs up*)
アニメ Kuroshitsuji ~Book of the Atlantic~
"2 Days Later" Yeah just in case you didn't notice they said the meeting's on the 19th and they mentioned the date of departure for the ship like, twice haha
Hey, it took some time, for many things since the premier of this movie since the last Anime season two years ago, but yeah, I'm glad to have caught it by the end of the year. And what a movie. Firstly, I congratulate on Aniplex (the animation company) for blending 3DCG appropriately (if you didn't notice, the ship, camera angles which they could've done a dozen 2D camera angles of) with 2D animation to a fine degree (and I've watched a 3DCG Anime this season) to make everything from plot to action scenes very palatable and awesome, to some extent. I won't spoil too much on story, but the movie nailed everything possible. Considering this is the second arc I've read the original material of (the circus arc is the first), I'm impressed in the amount of detail they can squeeze in 100 mins of video, and for that, I salute them. Secondly, let's talk about what's fun about the plot. In a nutshell, Ciel receives orders from Lan, his business friend, that weird things are happening in the dealing with medicine in a certain hospital, from a formed occult society famed to create advances in medicine. Problem is, it involves death. It's hard to wonder for anyone who knows of this series (and those who don't as much) whether it'll involve more people who will deal with that, and many deaths are going to occur. I'm not as crazy as those movie death count websites (lol), but be assured no humans are harmed during the making of this animation haha. Lastly, scenes to take note. Since I won't spoil anything much besides telling you what's about to happen, I'll just spoil those that I like. Elizabeth is pretty much MVP in my opinion when she's with Ciel (I'll leave you to figure out, unless I mentioned in a previous Entertainment News long ago already), Undertaker's real identity is the coolest part of this show and is also probably the only thing that got me more excited to remember that this was also an action series (no really, this is not in the mystery/fantasy genre only FYI), and I'm glad the production did remember to give most of the focus (not that I'd like to watch it again because they've done it multiple times in vague) to the history of Ciel and his butler Sebastian. Although I've read the latest of the manga I won't say otherwise. You know, like whether Lizzy actually knows of both of the Ciels. Okay, I said too much. This movie is overall as spectacular as the time the ship "Campaina" left the docks, and ended as beautifully as that very ship sank. Good job, everyone. This is making Yana-chan-sensei proud. Hey, I would if I'm her. She's the Anime version of J.K.Rowling already imo
Spoiler-free salutes to whoever made this movie possible.
Also, whoever remembered to include Tanaka-san haha
P.S. I've expected it. She has delivered. Thanks Tamura Yukari-san for the role of Lizzy. I never would have guessed you'll do this well. As expected of a veteran, I assume. *giggles like Lizzy* (Also, I pity those who cannot appreciate her role; I just didn't expect Yukarin to get this good)
P.P.S. Once again, I hope the production of this movie noticed the potential of cutting all of the original story arcs into movies. Because if that is so, I'll have more epic animation to expect in the future. Also, international release please. I want people around me to know the awesomeness of this show too. (Well it's going to be tough considering Aniplex is under Sony Japan, but still)
[Okay, last one. I did mention the word "fine" in the review instead of "awesome" for animation because there are flaws that could easily be missed, and I decided to overlook them. Most notably in terms of time is where (spoiler alert) Ciel was on the rescue boat with Sebastian holding an oar. Yep, the oar wasn't moving up and down (to show floating on the boat) and Sebastian was most definitely not floating on air. So that's that. Otherwise, I'd not comment too much on animation quality. Period.]

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
This week also pretty much marks the last week of Klassic Note in 2017, so let's talk about what I ended up with. Firstly, I decided to give Roy's first song from Anime "Koi to Uso" because I waited for some proper release and it didn't come and I can't wait for next year with no future date. So, I went ahead this time, like the many other times I did. I mean, could've done it earlier tbh. Then, there's the albums I decided to give another chance on, and so I did. Well, for the most part. I gave up amazarashi's new album because I cannot take his style if he doesn't sing normally, I gave a couple from negoto's new album because I liked the melodies (seriously ignoring music style of course), and I took one from Porno Graffitti's latest album to remember what I really liked about them. That, and including my recent review of GLIM SPANKY will conclude my list this year, standing at a song count of... haha if I mentioned here who will read my report? Well no one does it anyway so whatever lol

Talking about report, I'll try to do it ASAP so long as I can push out that Searching Stars Project over the holidays (I regret to report I haven't finished with Part 3 yet, sorry Christmas), and I'll be sure to give you all a surprise for this year's song awards. Not #KN10YEARS stuff, but something else. Be sure to stay tuned, wherever you are.

In recent news mostly about new songs in the new year, Taketatsu Ayana's new song preview for Anime "Dagashi Kashi" is sounding fine, my final review of the year will be delayed up to the point of dangerously falling outside of the end date for this year (proposed next Wednesday on the 27th), and SCANDAL has confirmed a new album set to release on Valentines' Day to win back fans lol

This is it, everyone. Enjoy your holidays if you aren't doing so, and I'll see you... next week? Yeah, we still have another week to go, nicely placed to end on a Sunday, so be sure to come back. Although next time round it'll be pretty much short because two Anime just concluded this week and I'll be busy doing up Klassic Note stuff so no more movies and... well, you know. Until next time, yes?

P.S. To Fujita Akane's Christmas message of telling us to go back to our partners: "I have no one to go to, and you're my only one, Akane-chan." Is what I would like to Tweet in reply, but I better not. Besides, it's on Anime "Eromanga-sensei" Twitter anyway lol

彼女がいないよ、おまえだけだよ
Merry Christmas, everyone.

P.P.S. On the upside, the best greeting I've seen (images aside, because everyone's posting selfies anyway) must be from Yuuki Aoi, but this one would require you to have a LINE account and add her as a friend. Because she sent her Christmas greetings "without the staff saying it for her", as mentioned by herself. How cute. Have a merry Christmas, Aoi-chan. Your honesty is always appreciated.
