The Klassic Note Song Awards - Official Results (2018)

Welcome to the Klassic Note Song Awards 2018!

I'm Kaineng, Klassic Note's only listener and judge. Every year, giving out awards and displaying those decisions has always been a challenge. This year is no exception as I move on to the next stage of my life in adulthood. As I continue to listen to more new artists while reminiscing the passing of many artists within the year, it motivates me more to further search for better songs to make this a better experience and involvement in my life.

Once again, the results below do not fully represent the many songs I listen to for the year. More indie artists have surfaced thanks to YouTube videos, mainstream artists are saying their farewells including uprising ones too, and I still cannot stop myself from giving Anime and idol-based songs as they continue to creep into the ranks this year. A big thanks again to another year of wonderful songs from all artists who got in the list, and there wouldn't be Klassic Note without any of them, but of course, give yourself a pat on the shoulder if your song(s) ever appeared in this results page somehow. I tried my best to give recognition to as many artists as I can every year.

The report below will be split into six segments, with the first two covering statistics and analysis of the songs given this year and how they fare. Diagrams will be shown in some segments to give a better overall picture than just displaying tables of data. Finally, I'll conclude on the report with an audio edit of all Top 20 ranked songs of this year, so to give a better idea of what songs truly represent the year around.

(Results finalised on 31/12/2018)

[Sorry for the mess, just migrated from the previous official results site and it has been rough]

[Note: For a detailed explanation of the results, hover/tap over the small text you thought were lines, like the one above]

Segment 1 – Song List Statistics, Song Integrity Survey & Song Appetite Report

This year, I have given a total of 205 songs over the past 12 months. Not as much as last year, but still very significant considering the number of new artists that have graced their presence in Klassic Note this year.

Firstly, I break down the songs to who sings them and sort them by size and gender, giving a good looks to a certain bias of hearing just female artists sing good songs, also known as the Vocal Styles Popularity Survey. For 2018, Female Solo vocals are close to a two-to-one ratio against Male Solo vocals, which shows a consistent improvement of reducing vocalist bias over the years.

Then, we have the Song Integrity Survey. Taken as an experimental analysis in Klassic Note, here I give further detailed analysis to the many songs rated in the generic 4-star category to give a better insight into how most of the songs are rated. It is also became the new benchmark in recent years in pushing to give more 5-star songs based on impression as done in early years of Klassic Note. As you can see, there is bias to giving more 5-star songs as songs above average rank are more than below average. Also, starting from next year, the categories for 4-stars will be increased from three to four, with 4C being average in order to show lesser bias to the standard average rating.

Thirdly, we have the generic statistics of the songs for the year. These include language (for those with a vocalist), year of release (old songs can appear in the list as far as 2001 for this year), Anime songs (because "sometimes") and B-side analysis for singles which is a direct representation of showing that songs which are good need not be their release's topic songs.

Lastly, we have the Song Appetite Report. The chart represents how many songs I've given every month, and whether there are peak period of giving songs or not, typically based on release month dependent on the music industry or periods of time where I just want to give more or less songs.

This is how the new songs fared this year:
VERDICT: Female Solo is the most popular vocal style in the songs of 2018.

Segment 2 – Song of the Day Rankings & Statistics

Every day is unique, it is special; it will set us in a different mood every day. And so it does, with the waking up and going to sleep, different melodies pop up in my mind mainly after listening to the large number of songs every year. I could confidently say that my mood is easily summarised with what song I'm listening to, that's for sure.

Congratulations to Cider Girl for taking the top for Song of the Year 2018!

So, the first two tables below show what are the most popular songs I've listened for the year and for each month. The last two tables show the most popular songs to wake up and sleep to to give a different perspective as to how they potentially can feel if you start and end the day with maybe.

Segment 3 – Single & Album Rankings

What are songs without releases, right? Here we talk about the overall packaging of songs in compiled lists, also known better by their smaller and larger counterparts. Many releases did not perform well this year, which explains the number of reviewed releases this year, however I did give more songs out of the decresed reviews, which is a good thing. Best album dominate the ranks this year as many are leaving, and some want to make an impression here before they leave so I can't deny giving them chances here and there.

In Klassic Note, best singles are determined by (1) whether they are on the shelf ie. all songs of the single have been given and (2) how good they fare in impression. Details for giving these singles shall not be discussed here since there is The Klassic Note Review for your reference. Best albums are determined mostly by how many songs have been given in it, so best album have a natural advantage if I've been listening to the artist for years.

Congratulations to Sambomaster and miwa for being best single and album of 2018!

Segment 4 – Song Commendations

In Klassic Note there are Awards. And then, there are Commendations. When I think of those worth mentioning but not necessarily worth of competition because it feels more like an achievement or special encounter, I take note. Songs here represent special moments for the year, and I think they deserve their own space. And I swear, nothing's harder than making sure Polkadot Stingray gets the best music video just because. So here they are! I regard the songs/videos mentioned here more relatable to my everyday life than other segments, to be honest.

In Klassic Note, Commendations are given to songs which stand out on their own (with terrible English), songs that are on my shelf, songs that have pure lack of creativity (same song titles) and songs I cannot forget.

Also included in this segment is the mention of music videos. Instead of giving them Awards, Klassic Note here compliments videos which stand out better than their music, sometimes better than not, in order to give better representation and thus impression to their audio listeners. And so, I commend and also criticise (a bit) on those, as you can see below too. Many of the music videos can be found online too, so be sure to check those out for yourself. I'll post the links to get you started.

Segment 5 – Song Awards
One of the most important things that built the foundation of the song awards are of course, the awards themselves. They have also been the toughest to decide every year besides the Top 20 songs, which shows how much thought needed to be put in in order to award songs into categories every year to show what kind of features they possess, and how unique they are. Like last year, it feels really hard to even get enough songs for entry to even award one of them as I hardly feel for some of the songs which are worthy of the titles. However, I have made my case, and below are the results.

Congratulations to Mineuchi Tomomi for being THE CHARASON of the year with a character songs from Anime "Slow Start", and to GLIM SPANKY for being THE CONTRIBUTOR and THE ARTST of 2018!

The Award titles mean exactly unless stated otherwise, which are stated as follows:
  • THE CHARASON now represents all songs from the Anime and Game genres so to give more songs recognition on how good they are.
  • THE IDOLISM awards idol songs (sung by voice actress solo artists mostly) which have been on the rise and gives the one with best impressions
  • THE INSPIRATIONAL awards songs which create motivation and creativity for me, and encourage me to further heights
Some Awards may feel familiar (NUMBER ONE SONG [OF THE DAY], ALBUM, SINGLE) because they are taken from previous segments, and awards are given to the best in their category

Final Segment – Song Rankings
And last but not least, we have the song rankings. Every year, I try my best to showcase Klassic Note in the most positive possible, hopefully with a good balance and representation of what the year means in Klassic Note, and many more in these 20+ songs I'd like to recommend. Unlike past years, this will have a reduced number of songs not because there aren't many good songs to give, but it's getting real hard to give songs their place, so this shall in protest of trying to give as many songs as recommendation instead of songs I like. Because if I list half the song list this will never be determined. Okay let's get to it!

Congratulations to Yoru no Honki Dance for snatching the #1 song in Klassic Note despite only releasing one single this year and immediately taking over the ranks! It's way too good to not put you guys on the throne this time around!

In Klassic Note, The Top 20 list will include certain conflicts in rank number as some of the songs can't stay apart due to my lack of criteria to differentiate them, but is also a clever attempt to show certain trends or similarity within topics and timeframes, to a smaller extent. So do not be surprised to see up to 25 songs every year on this supposedly "Top 20" list.

Below is an audio preview of the Top 20 Rankings of Klassic Note 2018, for your listening pleasure.
Enjoy.
(Trying out a new cry and I swear it's not my voice)

And this is it for yet another year of awarding new songs in Klassic Note. Again, if you're just here to give yourself a chance to listen to the above preview, I thank you for giving me a chance to tell you how wonderful Klassic Note has been for 2018. And if you have given them a listen after this, even just one of them, it will already make my day. Klassic Note has once again had another wonderful year, and I'm proud to be in it as deep as my passion can take me.

See you all next year again for another year of Klassic Note! And as always, don't forget to be "Searching For A Different Melody".

The Entertainment News 2018 Edition Issue #52

Hey! Welcome back to *cough* the slew of blog posts I'll be doing over to the new year!! (Yeah, I'm still weak) Second up in case you missed the previous one, we'll be concluding this year with some talk on Anime next season and Klassic Note stuff on the last issue of The Entertainment News! We seriously need a better name this sounds so lame...

Without further ado, let's get to it then! This one will be short, I promise.

アニメ Winter 2019 Season Preview
Rather disappointing in general, plenty of sequels, nothing that interests me so I might look at a couple on first episode and hope I'll actually get shows because we're starting from zero here, just so you know. Maybe I should go watch older shows instead lol hey there Katori Layton haha

My general comments after exploring and reading the link (which is kindly provided by me) above:

  • Boogiepop wa Warawanai actually sounds like a creepy show, and with Yuuki Aoi taking the lead on this I don't see why this show wouldn't get popular. So no thanks. *laughs*
  • Haha a world where the number of otakus are dwindling? Nice joke, Pastel Memories.
  • Initially I thought Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! was as terrible in lolicon talk as UzaMaid I watched this season, but hmm... I'm not into little girls though, so... If I ever watch it's because I know more than half the female cast haha
  • I've seen a chapter of the manga from Yakusoku no Neverland and I know it's good in plot especially in terms of suspense, but no, not a fan of such stuff to be honest. Too dark to enjoy every week. Remember: Me watching Attack on Titan was a mistake. Kara no Kyoukai is a happy accident though hehe #RIPKalafina
  • If I didn't even see the name "Sasuga Kei" (author of "GE - Good Ending") I wouldn't have stopped to look at Domestic na Kanojo [airs 11th Jan 2019]. Wow, as expected, you've done it, Sasuga-sensei. (Word pun not intended) You've got an Anime adaptation. Premises seems familiar with the previous work with some level of sexual references (and not in the form of sex jokes) (but not as extreme as "Koi to Uso"), and it may have just came in (literally) at the right time. I'll give an episode one on this one, to be honest. Again, congrats sensei on getting your work on the big screen. Been waiting for another work since then actually. Never bothered to find out though for some reason lol
  • Okay this one I might want to give a chance. Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Ren’ai Zunousen [airs 12th Jan 2019] is actually a typical romance show, but in this case I guess in a circle of people who are very up on themselves, and confessing or falling in love means you lose, there seems to be so much premise for the fetish I've always liked. No, not sadism and mashochism, please. (Not so sure about tsundere on the males, but still) Man I wish Ten-chan (Amamiya Sora) would act any character in this show but too bad, we're not getting her. Not a lot of familiar names here, so I hope I'll get to know more new girls like Asakura Momo or Kohara Konomi (voices Kasumi in "Asobi Asobase", Akane in "Tsuki ga Kirei") lmao

Yeah, that's it. If we get lucky on episode one on the two of them I would plan to watch then at least this section will not be empty starting next week. Oh yeah, they don't air this early, huh. Uh oh. *laughs*

Well, looks like I will have to take a break real soon. Or, I could revamp this post...

P.S. Sasuga Kei is the author of "GE - Good Ending", the first original manga I picked up, finished reading in translation and DID NOT become an Anime even though I thought it was good. Heck, all original manga I follow are not even close to becoming one, so this came as a surprise, to be honest.

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
Two things I'd like to talk about here which might be interesting or whatever I'm trying to fill this up anyway haha...

Firstly, is what I am doing now about this year's songs. I know it's important to do #KN10YEARS too but I'm not in a rush for that for I have to think of how to even give The Top 20 now that I still have no idea how I should give them. (I have less than 24 hours to decide, by the way) So that is still my priority now, figuring out the order and to what I have to put in. Man, this one is the toughest yet since 2015, to be honest. I did the Song Integrity Survey wrongly, to be frank. I thought a changing ranking system may help boost the changes in giving song ratings every year but turns out I became more complacent and gave more average ratings in general, making it real hard to know which ones I think are still good. Well, hours of brainwashing would help, but I'm not doing that. Oops.

And also, is the announcement of song award results this year. Starting this year I've thought of making it easier on myself to avoid hosting outside of the blog so I have decided to bring it to here! Well, not for the previous years since moving in will be a pain (in the future if I want to), but suffice it to say I'll have more flexibility in showcasing the results here than... anywhere else. Strikingly is an exception, by the way, that was for summary. I mean, for starters, this site is mobile friendly. So yeah, that is that. I'll try it out tomorrow (including audio previews because why not) and see for it myself. Should'nt have any problems but the format might change a little.

I guess I'll stop here for now, I really need to stare at the list of songs I have for this year and decide how I should give the best presentation of The Top 20 (which usually features more than 20 songs lol) for Klassic Note 2018, and boy am I excited to do that, even though hesitant because I can't decide who should take the top spot! Man, headaches all over. Not as bad as this cough I've been having for weeks and seeking medical help didn't really help much because as soon as I stop taking medication, it immediately comes back. Maybe I need to quit my indoor office job so I can recover lol okay bye

The Top 5 Bizarre Music Release Formats

I thought I'd keep the year end blogging momentum going in view of the new year in case you've been living in a well with a laptop with an Internet connection... okay let's start haha

This is just one of those posts from Klassic Note which of long-term observation, defies the standard definition in Klassic Note, and thus we make change for it, and make decisions on how to classify them. This time, we talk about music releases, whether physical or digital, in this time of age.

As you know, today's music can be released in a variety of ways, from physical media like CDs to now digital download and even music streaming services, there are now easier and cheaper ways to listen to the music you love. But it is also because of that that Klassic Note has to adapt, for if you recall this passion project of mine started in 2008, and man did things change a lot in this past decade. So let's talk about it.

LIMITED EDITION ONLY SINGLES
Surprisingly not uncommon, but I only got my first taste of it in miwa's single in 2013 "Miracle". In this single, I gave both tracks which will make it qualify for being on my shelf back then. However, I went in for more research and found out that this release only came with a two-disc pack, along with the music videos of the two topic songs in the release, and does not have a single disc Regular Edition, if you have seen my Klassic Note Reviews before. And thus, this one does not qualify, at least under Klassic Note, to be reviewed and to be on my shelf. The reason here is simply that I only have a track record and also on financial grounds, to only review the music in Regular Editions rather than anything that comes with it like in a Limited Edition release typically with music videos or live performance footage. The bare minimum. Where anything more is not forgivable. You'll notice this trend later in further releases below and see that my judgement on this may deviate from the usual.

MULTIPLE REGULAR EDITIONS
Yes, this is a problem. With the rise of Anime music releases, and blurring the line between Anime and mainstream artists, there is a need to make sure Klassic Note can differentiate between them as one of them is taken into review but the other is not. Reason is that Anime-related releases do not count towards honouring the mainstream artists who work more than those Anime releases which are typically produced by Anime music producers selecting voice actors to sing them, making it less than supporting the artists than just supporting the Anime work. So, with this out of place, how can it be more complicated? The producers out there thought of a way to make sure they can brand artists on their work while still make sure the Anime credit is seen as clearly as possible to make sure consumers remember to give them a listen, and that is Anime Edition releases. Typically these releases are Limited Edition to give it some form of scarcity, but recently it has gone mainstream to give itself a bigger image so as to attract a wider audience, and that's where the problem comes in. Which release am I supposed to give? Say fhana for example. on their single in 2015 "Comet Lucifer". Clearly, there is a difference between giving the Anime Edition and regular Artist Edition. Both have different tracks, both represent different images the artist wanted to convey. So how? Which one should I select? And thus foreseeing this difference, reviews of these singles now in Klassic Note is determined by which version is available for listen as of 2014, and even then most of the time they won't pass the criteria. I can foresee this will no doubt still be a problem in the future as with music streaming I will be able to listen both of the versions and yes, fhana has finally revealed its music library in Apple Music. Let's just say this is going to be undetermined until I have to deal with such a case, yes?

ANIME VERSION AS REGULAR
Aw man, this one's a pain in the neck. Remember what I mentioned above about Anime music producers and companies being smart about how to brand their artists while making sure the Anime credit is seen clearly on the cover? Now instead of splitting them up in different versions or levelling them up to two Regular Editions, it is now merged into one. And who shall be on the cover: artist or credit? You might ask. For the producers, it seems that the latter is more important. And so we see in MICHI's 2nd single in 2016 "Checkmate!?" and Taketatsu Ayana's 2014 single "Kajirikake Ringo" that the Anime cover took the place of the artist instead for their Regular Editions. So now what? I used to be able to resolve these, but now that I can give the whole single should I accept the fact that Kon Natsumi's debut single has an Anime drawing instead of her face on the cover? I mean, for most applications this sounds fine, but then as I mention, in Klassic Note we like to do reviews to honour artists or the songs BUT never the Anime credit behind them. Looks like capitalism has taken a wrong turn, but we still  have to come into a conclusion. So with Kon Natsumi being the first obstacle that I have to overcome, on the summer of Klassic Note 2014 I have officially given the green light to Anime covers on Regular Editions so I can continue to review the songs in order to give the artists behind them some form of credit. Hey, in these releases I already barely talk about production, so whatever.

DIGITAL RELEASES AND WHEN THEY MATTER
This one has also been a problem happening in the long run. Many artists, at least not from Japan, started to only release digital versions of songs online as download or streaming around 2013 to 2014, and that made reviewing in Klassic Note hard, and if it ends up on the shelf... I can't even put it on there. See the problem now? I only give reviews on physical releases because it's there. In any digital medium in case you don't know you only sign a contract of rent of the song whether it's streaming or download. (Yeah, don't believe me? Look it up) So when Tsuji Shion decided to release a slew of singles digitally online in 2015 it became a problem in Klassic Note. Specifically, her summer single "Summer Flag/Hanabi ga Agattara" was so good I decided to give both topic songs, but... I can't review it. And it still stands today, in Klassic Note, that I shall not review any digital release unless it is available in physical copy. And it's not I burn an empty CD of it, no, which means I'll just miss out reviewing a lot of releases which just for some reason, do not have a physical copy due to production budget reasons. So say goodbye to Tsuji Shion's single and VELTPUNCH's singles in 2015 because I can't review them as much as they are good. So yeah, still the Klassic Note standpoint today, and it will likely not change unless I can come up with a way to represent them online. The biggest problem now is that it is really easy to give digital singles as most of them are single track, and if they do well then two months later they will release a physicsl copy but along with a larger release like an album. (Looking at you, TWICE, and your repackaged album) And that will no doubt continue to be a major factor to me rather reviewing single track CD releases and give a review of a multi-track digital single. The upside is that music companies do know if their songs are popular that eventually physical releases will be made, like King Gnu's 2018 single "Prayer X". I just hope more will do that if their songs are popular. Those songs deserve a better place than in the digital medium.

LIVE ONLY RELEASES
Okay, this one is in exception category already, so I'll make this a special part of this blog's topic then. Back in 2013 I wanted to give SPECIAL OTHERS credit for how awesome they are as a musical band in Japan. And to that, I thought of a way to do so. I'll give a so-called "best compilation" so long as they are able to present it in some way that I can review, or at least, buy. So in comes their 2nd major live DVD release which, hear me out, has a Regular Edition live CD as a physical release!! So I'm like "Why not give them now?" than regret later (I wasn't wrong; their best album is actually sandwiched in the Limited Edition of their 2nd collaboration album) and so I did it. I bought the album after giving the amount of songs needed to pass the requirement in Klassic Note. However, as 2014 was the first year I did reviews, I didn't have to think about whether I needed to review this album, and so I didn't. I technically let it off in view of me trying to give support to the artists I like who in a thousand years will NEVER release a single since they just don't. This one is for you guys, SPECIAL OTHERS.

This is it for today. The current schedule for the slew of blog posts for until the new year is currently as follows: today is meant to be a special #KN10YEARS post in case you didn't notice, tomorrow I'll be doing another Entertainment News Special hoping that I can revamp the presentation of it once again maybe give it a new name(?) or something, the eve of new year will be the first time I'll move announcing Klassic Note Song Award Results to this blog because I'm sick of maintaining the posts on another site which loads slower than me waiting for a cup of noodles to cook (yeah, no joke), and I'll start the new year with another Klassic Note Artist Evaluation once more (it's going to be real pain this year), and a special post maybe on the things I hang in my room. I swear, there's only one thing (besides the one Garfield frame which I will also explain there) I hang in my room. I'm no otaku, okay? Okay until then everyone.

The Entertainment News 2018 Edition Issue #51

Merry Christmas... Eve, everyone!!

Yes! This is a (delayed) Christmas Eve Entertainment News Special!! And it's definitely not because I'm at a gathering and forgot to watch shows on Saturday but it's totally because I wanted all the shows to end with Honda-san so we can have a Anime fiesta!! Muahahahaha....

Ok, jokes aside, let's begin. All three shows are ending this time around, so next week... well let's hope I can do the previews for next season then haha

アニメ BANANA FISH
This blockquote is dedicated to the most dedicated underlord who loves to f**k young boys and created the legend who saved the world, Dino F. Golzine. Rest in peace, old geezzer.
No seriously, they gotta kill one of the main guys. Figured out it was that old perv. *laughs* Okay, in the final episode (#BANANAFISH24) of this superb series which was originally written 20 years ago, it was pretty straightfoward. Meaning there's plenty of development making this probably the most fast-paced episode in the series. Golzine was shot good, but hey, not in the head yet, so technically he can still be saved. Foxx is one sick bastard, as we have proven from his words that he is kind of a Golzine himself, but as he mentioned to the old man, he's no soft guy to Ash since it's not his creation anyway. (Spoiler alert: Ash's creator was his parents down at that house in the countryside so technically Golzine you're not too) That, and Ash was apprehended again by the army veteran, but hey, didn't say he could'nt get out of it, with a pending injury and on anesthesia. Hey, doing a handicap for you, seeing your white hair. *laughs* So yeah, plenty happened which is not Ash dying as also the gang behind him went on to clear the armyin the building as best as they can, and when they can't they got Blanca just in case. Guns can only get that much more accurate, so why not a minigun on a heli, yes? Well, you forgot the sniper haha. Every turn on this rollercoaster ride of fights makes all this waiting worth it. Hey, I'm not just here for the super cheesy storyline lol. We end up with Foxx being drilled and then shot on the head by, you guessed it, Golzine. Heck, this man has much endurance considering he's that of a size and he can manage to crawl himself to the main computer to hack it AND walk to the top floor of the building to shoot the one guy on the head. Sorry Ash but I've got to say he's the most legendary human living on Earth right now- Oh, he dropped down the building into a sea of fire? Never mind then, you can take it, Ash. *laughs* #RIPGolzine, by the way. Respect. Moving on (haha), Foxx refuses to die, but then again if I have a drill and wasn't too weak (Ash at that state is still stronger than most people alive, FYI) he could've just drilled through his head, just saying. No really, I can take that much gore. Been corrupted by some magician psychological Anime already. All's well ends well, the building isn't rigged enough to blow up all the gang members and the prisoners so they are good, Max marries his ex-wife once again, and Sing? Let's say he's MVP this episode. Hey, we killed the real MVP who saved this series already what you want me to do about it? (#RIPGolzine haha) Lee was useless so he carried him up as well as Chinatown, Eiji leaves for Japan on a wheelchair (man, 0/5 on TripAdvisor lol) and Ash is not there to say farewell. Because he doesn't want to. Not until Sing finds hiim and passes him the one letter that if you didn't tear up to it as it's being read go watch a kid's Anime because this one is not for you who can't appreciate what has been going on all this time. To summarise, it's the opening of one's heart through loneliness even though through all the danger and adversity it feels like a saving than more of a befriending, at least, to Eiji. And for Ash, it's Eiji showering his kindness all over him that makes them gay *ahem* that makes them all the more tied up in the strongest bond we know of as friendship. All in all, wonderful series, didn't regret watching it (thank Mikakoshi for the recommend), and now I'm going to miss making gay sex jokes now. *laughs*
So much evil in such an old face.
Rest in peace, old man.
TFW you realised how much the animators got paid after making 24 episodes lol
(No really, it's not much, but thanks guys)
P.S. In a production perspective, I know it feels rushed in the last episode, and we've seen Ash clear buildings like a pro with and without handicaps, but yeah, it ties up with the story well. Aniplex, thanks for making the series good. It was a good run, and I enjoyed every episode. It was cheesy, and at some point I may thought of changing gender lol, but still. I want to see Ash Lynx in Japan. I swear. Preferrably without a gun haha

アニメ Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!
You know what? There's no such thing as happiest times. So wake up your idea, kid. Not here to break dreams, but still.
If "WAKE UP YOUR FUCKING IDEA" isn't in your mind this whole episode, then you're probably still too young to read this, but hey, in this final episode (#UzaMaid12) of this series which we'll miss Midorin's... whatever lol, we make sure you're into little girls. Also, this is a nice storytelling session, so stop crying already, geez. *laughs* (Thanks for the occasional jokes, really helps here because) In the conclusion for the Anime series, we carry on the mishap that is someone treaded into the territory that is forbidden. Besides the obvious of the need to lock up that one room you don't want people to enter, again it's just a matter of explaining what that room means to Misha herself. I'll talk about everyone else first. The kids aren't at wrong, but as Midorin as mentioned, probably not a good time to apologise, but over the phone wasn't that sincere, so I hope those two did apologise at some point. Not going to chase over that here though. On Tsubame, shelving on the responsibility, shitting on her, and then attempting to leave is actually the most f**ked up way of shirking responsibility, by the way. We're all growing up, after all. So good thing this episode is actually not a lot about that. On Misha's side, it's good to know her concern is not about asserting blame or hating those who tainted her dreamland, but more of her worry about forgetting about the deceased mother. And with this, I would say the storytelling session was a good job in making this the most tear-jerking series this year. Well, at least, from what I watched. Misha first. So yeah, we know about the mother thing, we know about the room thing, but with Yasuhiro's explanation we now finally know it was also at her best times with her mother living with her (maybe Yasuhiro too), and the family was happy. Technically yeah, but the love didn't go around back to Yasuhiro so whatever lol. And of course, on Tsubame. We now know that she lost her eyesight which explains that obvious patch that is not totally due to cosmetic effect so we can remember her by a visual trait as all Anime intend to depict, we now know that she joined the Air Force because she wanted to find her deceased father in the skies, and we now know in loss of hope she found her life once again... in that Russian girl. Okay lolicon, you're forgiven. *laughs* So yes, Misha then realised: they both lost something and are trying to find something to cling on to what we call life. Very bad for most depressing children as I've gone through this a bit, but to find any meaning in life after loss is a real important stage in healing that heart. And yes, Misha maybe taking this too much but considering she's an understanding child and her worry which we have mentioned earlier, I applaud the author for coming up with a most wholesome story to tell a story about life. For this, I really enjoyed it. And yes, so much so I even love the irritating parts too haha seriously Misha-chan you need to be more like Midorin a bit lol
The truth of this series, in a nutshell
If you thought 4 choices was bad, Misha-chan, you haven't gone to university with 5 choices for MCQ quizzes lol
P.S. "It's not good to hold it in, so just let me know, and I'll deal with it" Yes this is a Midorin quote after she gave someone a potty haha yeah you know what's going to happen SHE'S GOING TO BATH IN IT HAHAHAHAHAHAH
P.P.S. lmao "(4) I'll bear your (Misha) child" Hey we got our season 2 material already- What do you mean it was rejected?? haha

アニメ Gaikotsu Shoten'in Honda-san
"That granny was like 'feel-good', I almost took her to the BL shelves" Wow please don't
Well, Honda-san, just so you know, I had my Christmas Eve party in the office wearing that Christmas hat. *laughs* (I hate work, can't you see?) Okay, in this final episode (#HondaSan12) of this series which cannot not keep the jokes coming, we cover the final two runs which will, as always, summarise what is good about this series. Firstly, Christmas. Heck, you hate to wear those hats too, Honda-san?? I just did it today!!! *half an hour of ranting continues* Okay, back here. *laughs* When it comes to holidays, it's always a good time to hold sales, attract customers to clear up dead stock, and set up new stock for the upcoming events or releases which will no doubt fill up the shelves slower than the customers can clear them, no joke. That, is overall still better than dealing with the gift wrapping, especially the kids department because if you think Santa got a busy time at that house North of the planet you haven't seen the shops at Chirstmas Eve haha. Then, there's the ending. Ending as not in the series, but as a closure, but of the shop. Since there are working shifts, Honda-san got placed in the night shift along with colleagues and a whole bunch of part-timers who apparently can do their work better than this dork haha. So yeah, Honda was just there to make sure no one else comes in. Thank goodness it wasn't some crazy customer who needs last minute presents or something lol. Which brings us to the end of the series, all with checked-out cash registers and cleaned up stock. So, in summary, this is a light-hearted yet very knowledge-imparting series, I must say, about what it feels to work in a bookstore in Japan. And I think the author - who happens to have the same name as the main guy - kind of nailed it, along with funny jokes at every corner, really makes this show never boring even if the topics are pretty much the same. Hey, customer service in a nutshell, everyone. Who needs to work part-time (I don't) (I never) (no really) if you can just watch a show about work and learn from it? See? Instant experience gained. It's like opening that experience bottle in Minecraft and doing a Level 30 Enchantment within the duration of each episode. *laughs* (That's going to be a gaming joke no one will get) (Oops thought this was about games) (About game guides?) All in all, I liked this series, never regretted picking it up, sad the only things I can see besides foreigners are that back silhouette of that one part-timer who has a ponytail and looks kind of cute, but hey, you get the euphemism of what the author is trying to achieve here, isn't it? What a way to make jokes whilst still making a straight face- Oh wait, that skullhead doesn't have a face tears just come out of it straight down lol
Here is when I cracked this episode lmao
TFW you won the lottery OR when you cleared your student debt lol
P.S. TIL staff are told to announce to the ceiling when the shop is about to close to warn customers to check-in their purchases before closure. *silence* Wow, they don't have a speaker system? *giggles*

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
In this last week of Klassic Note reviews, we give what's left on the list... on the list. KANA-BOON's new mini-album for the winter season apparently is getting me ready for the spring season which is likely to come until April next year so... I wish it'll come soon though haha "I'll wait for it". Warmer weather, I mean. I also took my chance to give ORESKABAND's only song this year celebrating their 15th anniversary which is full of ska which makes me wonder why I didn't give the song two months ago probably where there are many good songs. Hey, I still gave it though.

There won't be anything releasing this (next) week though, just so you know. Not that I listen to anyway. I need a break too so I can start thinking about what songs to give this year, so...

On Twitter and around the web this week, Toyosaki Aki and Kotobuki Minako music videos are on YouTube for some reason (if you can access it it's still region locked) (that and you need a YouTube Music Premium subscription ugh) (before this announcement they were nowhere btw), Touyama Nao just announced her 2nd album slated for next year, and... that's it actually. There are more photos of cute girls wearing Santa outfits online (in chronological order) (yes the last one is a joke) than there are announcements on music. Don't take my word for it; count them yourself.

Have a Merry Christmas, everyone. By the time I post this it'll be time, I'm still coughing non-stop and I still haven't got laid. Santa, you've not been doing a good job, by the way. Maybe I should beome Christian haha bye

The Entertainment News 2018 Edition Issue #50

Hey.

I can't believe my whatever sinus infection is not over yet. Coughing on Thursday night, I had to see doctor on my work leave day, and had to say no to that Malaysia outing with my colleagues because with the way they work I'll be more sick by the time I come back home now. I haven't packed because I knew this will happen though haha

It wasn't that fun at home though. I didn't manage to do anything in faith of sleeping will help improve my condition but seeing as I am *cough* now I don't think I've recovered. Hey, 1x useless body right here, if anyone wants it. *sigh* No wonder I wasn't getting laid the girls knew just by seeing my fugly face lol

Let's move on to less sad things, shall we? The only things that are making me happy this week are getting sad too. Can I just have a solo crying session now? It's been some time since I did that lol okay moving on~

アニメ BANANA FISH
"He doesn't exist for your salvation" wow Blanca got him good there
In the still pretty sad new episode (#BANANAFISH23) of this series, we now know what this series is all about, and it's not underworld action, fight scenes, or conspiracy and lies. It's about love, and not specifically gay love, okay? (lol) As mentioned by Blanca most clearly in this episode many times to Ash and even to Lee, it takes a lot to love. And to lose that will make one go crazy. To lose that will make one lose meaning in life. (I mean, I've never been loved so that makes me one of them lol) To lose that will make one choose other insane options instead of protecting others. In this episode, Ash was stopped by Blanca so that he can help protect Eiji from... probably the most wanted criminal in the state right now. And Ash? He's taking it in maybe. It was of good reason that Blanca did that for him even just as a trainer, but hey, it's also of concern. For Blanca, it would seem like his state of professionalism is over. He'd rather take emotions into his own hands, and help protect Ash by saving Eiji, which I might say is a real noble act even after hearing of his story. Lee's wasn't much to pity though, as his one was just quite brutal, even though his standpoint is what we have been thus far until Blanca decided to change sides, which is to whoever can't feel love then should make others also feel the same. That need not be so, as Blanca has exhibited this much in the episode to (1) join Ash and his actions to stop the Banana Fish plan/save the people in the building, (2) to give him one last chance to see Eiji who is in hospital now and is often visited by the cops, and (3) to disobey all his own actions as a professional, meaning he has to go against Lee and Golzine now. On Golzine's side though, things have started to take a turn. We see in the last part where Foxx decided to take things into his own hands, and being the most underhand of them all, he will no doubt heartlessly drug as many people as possible in the Mental Health Institute (which mostly are the gang members from Ash who were captured, mind you) (and Max) and even kill the proprietor in order to advance on his selfish plans, whatever that may be. What his plans are though... well I guess he's a military guy, and he's internationally well-known, so... maybe he wants the fame to himself too? If the story goes in this direction, I wonder if Ash will make the ethical choice again (as he did to Shorter) and end the lives of the people in the building himself. #RIPGolzine anyways it was a good run old man haha hey at least you get to f**k all the little boys you want in Heaven lol

アニメ Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!
"Your existence in the first place brings me embarrassment" Haha Misha got her good there haha I just LOVE these tsukkomi
*looks at flashback intro* Tsubame must be nosebleeding right now looking at this *laughs* Okay, the new episode (#UzaMaid11) really brings us a lot of fourth wall references like the fake end and how no one mentions Midorin's age but since it's shown on screen the girls know lol. Okay production jokes aside, it's interesting to see how our very query about Misha's place is going to be unveiled to us in the next episode in the most cliffhanger way possible: making the maid mistakenly step into forbidden territory. Hey, the Anime adaptation got to end somewhere haha. Okay, setup first. In a nutshell, Misha invited Washiwashi to a stayover, and heck even Morikawa-san knew about it. I know Tsubame will know about this we're not concealing the plan from her unlike the last time lol. So yeah, in an effort to live life with a bunch of friends, Misha ended up having two friends up at her place. It was great and all, and the usual antics from that irritating maid kind of throw Midorin and me off lol, but yeah, it was all in an effort to reach the plot twist. So yeah, if you watched the episode already then I can say it here anyways, which is actually the two guests being afraid of the dark - Washiwashi and Morikawa - that accidentally led them to the mother's study room (hey, it's "accidentally", Misha-chan) (also, should've got the door locked) with them stepping on dust all over the room and knocking the bear on the chair over. No really, it's not Halloween yet, the girls are just freaking out for whatever reason. *laughs* Stupid things aside, the reality came in when Misha noticed someone entered the room without her permission, and in an effort to not let Misha lose her friends, Tsubame noticed the situation and immediately admitted it was her. Why though? If it was the classmates' fault (actually both are in the wrong) then why push the responsibility to herself? On the other hand, it's logical for any of us watching this episode to think the production was forced to weave a convincing story so they can make Tsubame the scapegoat, but even if this is not the real story then what can Misha do about it? Kill the people who did it? So what? What if Tsubame loses her job? That's it? Isn't it more troublesome to find a more dedicated maid who can take care of the house? To be honest, there are many ways to hide the truth behind your past while still letting people dig- well, clean up the place a bit. Not referring the dust to ashes on this one because I'm not that cruel to shit on people's past, but suffice it to say I'd like Misha to wake up her own mind when we reach possibly the last episode next week. Heck, it's childish to think like this, Misha. There, I said it. Happy now? *looks at Midorin* Okay, could you just stop getting high over there please? *laughs* We shall see how this lesson will be taught considering no one around her is technically close to her. Anime, prove me wrong.
P.S. "normal girl" haha *gets Asobi Asobase flashbacks*
P.P.S. "If it can be done tomorrow then it's okay to do it tomorrow" wise words from a slacker haha same here *laughs*

Update 2018.12.17: I'm still awake and not dozed off at my bed so why not haha
アニメ Gaikotsu Shoten'in Honda-san
"A customer caught me" Oh hohoho LITERALLY amirite?? *laughs*
"It's when the healing stops working that it's time to move on, I guess" Wow I'll take that advice in well, paper bag head. The new episode (#HondaSan11) is all about extremities, because the production thought you didn't get enough mood swings watching this series because you're likely just laughing all the time lol. Okay, mood swing number 1: fear. Hey, who knew that after 10 episodes of those snippets dealing with bad customers we can still get more, and heck they just changed the setting to like hell? Lol seriously, but yeah it's when times get tough is when... you call the department head haha. Hey, you gotta. We don't get paid this high to deal with that one freak who can't handle only getting one book which is selling like hotcakes. But hey, it was fun to watch, to say the least. Man, that namecard is real solid where can I get the printing on that for mine? Oh, only in hell? No thanks. *laughs* Mood swing number 2: happiness. The reverse, actually. When you actually know of a good customer, asks when necessary, and still thank you for helping out. Hey, did you even know that work is all about helping out? If you are not helping out on anything but just furiously getting stuffed with money, you're not going to be happy working. And as paperbag head said, you're better off quitting. Which may be never. Hey, when one's passion for a job is strong, it takes a lot to change one's mind. Still, if you need me to live a sh*t work life, I'll leave I tell you. Not for now though, I've got much to learn as much as... not leaking anything here, my company's product isn't great. Oh no don't kill me please I could use two hands to mastur- do programming haha looks like we're ending this series with Christmas it seems hehe took a look at the official website to see if this is the last thankfully not
P.S. "You Can Quit Your Job Whenever You Want" Hey don't drop that title on me now I just got employed for less than half a year here haha
P.P.S. Lmao the candlesticks on that pumpkin head man they making this first half of the episode really look like Halloween

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
This week was quite a week in Klassic Note, possibly the last of the active weeks in this year probably. 7!! seven oops new album (You can't find the release? So do I) from where the drummer left was meh, as I ended up only wanting to give one song, and even it's not in the list yet because I have no confidence in giving it. Eventually. *laughs* ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION's new album was finally decided as I only gave two including the topic songs just for the fact it's nostalgic of their early day style which I honestly missed. Hey, I need to give Ajikan more, man. I feel so bad not giving this Klassic Note veteran already, you know. Still, no reason to give more if I can't feel for them if not for this weekend lol (see post intro for details) Survive Said The Prophet's new single was actually an expected fail, as I try to grasp what the heck was going on with the rest of the topic song as I heard the Anime theme song in the show which was actually really good. So yeah. The B-side too, trying to capture us with the Anime theme song feel they did last season? Nice try, guys. But I've heard of your style 3 months ago so this is not surprising or fascinating already to be honest. Also, not to forget that I reviewed Asakura Momo's 2nd single from last year because I wanted to give her something which is not her album or her photobook or a chance to go to a handshake meeting haha okay my inner fanboy is showing lol

Next week brings us KANA-BOON's new mini-album after quite a release this year and me not giving them, I'll try to give more this time around. No promises here, guys. Your music isn't as impressive as I thought you guys are. Hey, impressions are deceiving in Klassic Note. I hope you'll forgive me. (Audience: Who you're taking to now?) Oh. That, and maybe I'll listen to the albums mentioned above again, I guess. I want to give chance. I seriously do.

This week was quite a ride on Twitter, with fhana opening up their music library in Apple Music and other streaming media - (one of) the first artists from Lantis to do so - which is great to say the least celebrating their 5th anniversary album (Wow, it's been that long? WHERE WAS I??), VELTPUNCH promising things to happen in 2019 (please do, I have no one to give #1 song this year I'm in trouble now lol) and among many other things new releases including Taketatsu Ayana's new single and Anime tie-in once again (See? People do like your singing, Ayachi) and Yogee New Waves new album in March next year following that many digital singles singing for summer and fall but I only liked the spring one which was in March this year hehe sorry guys I'm very picky when it comes to songs

I guess that's it then. One more week of work after having to face my colleagues for MIA-ing on that trip (because it's easier to book accomodation in bulk) before I can get to enjoy my last week of this year at home, probably doing up everything Klassic Note for KN10YEARS and song awards this year. Heck, I haven't even come up with a list yet. *sigh* Can I just shrink the rankings to 10 songs instead? Oh hey, maybe I can just give 20 songs this year instead of the 20++ songs every year lol. We shall see. Or actually, I shall see how. *laughs* Okay *cough* cya guys tomorrow for Honda-san or else next week then~
