The Shelf Criteria

(Talk about percentages to pass reviews to shelf, emphasising on albums and how the number 85% is decided. Show table and elaborate. Talked about how it was confirmed at start and a later confirmation last year led to such a phenomenon. Link to Ikimono and Aki-chan albums for reference on how this is executed. Also mention about specific exceptions developed over the years for example split compilations like Aqua Timez from last year and accepting it as a whole instead of separate compilations and thus it's either both or none, though this can be changed in the future?)

Hey. It's time. To reveal everything. Well, this is big enough of a reveal, in my opinion.

You know of Klassic Note. You know of that shelf residing in my room that has all the singles and albums I loved because I reviewed them and selectively chose to get them. But why them? Why not every single song in the compilation? I mean, if you think the 200+ songs per year comes from like, a dozen CDs of on average half a dozen tracks you must be crazy. So yes, there are requirements, and I've not been able to talk about it. I mention it from time to time, which probably makes people confused. In view of the biggest review of Klassic Note yet (which is Ikimonogakari's best album FYI) (and add that to Aki-chan's new album), I decide to talk about it. The lucky percentage number of today, is:

"85%"

THE CRITERION
Why this number, you might ask? Before the year 2012 (ie. Klassic Note 5th year) this does not have much of a meaning. Because back then I wasn't earning money, so I wasn't spending any too. But then the flood gates released within the year and my thoughts of online purchase from Japan can get fulfilled. Then came one question: How do I make sure I get the best out of the many releases I have listened to? Then came an immediate and simple answer: Set a bar. Set a bar such that anything below this percentage of songs that are on my list I exclude them. So that sounds pretty easy, huh. But then two years after that around last year then I question myself: Is this justified? (Yah I know I ask myself a lot of questions) And then I noticed this might be a problem. So I did some math.

THE MATH
See, in the table I tried the number against a lot of track numbers (for obvious reasons one track wasn't in it) for releases. I generally agreed that anything above 85% (highlighted in yellow) can be  good benchmarks because they generally require most releases at track numbers below half a dozen to need the whole album to be on my list in order to be given the thumbs up. I ended up reducing the top percentage considering that it sets minimum track amount to exclude, which should be one excluded track up and until 13-track albums (read one left before every 100%, and read two before after 14 tracks), which are typical for most full albums. This also means I can only exclude one song until I get a large enough album that I will be able to exclude two tracks in order for it to be on my shelf. This eventually sets the criterion to be around 85% yet again, confirming my initial benchmark.

THE EXAMPLES
Okay, so this release. The good thing about this (as you will find out in the next paragraphs) compilation is that it doesn't come separate, meaning it's definitely all or nothing, and yes, the 3CD Regular Edition is a 45-track album. Hell a lot in my opinion and it even went off the table above, but considering them being on my Ultimate Collection and me knowing of more songs than they ever have on this album, there isn't much of a problem. Over the previous weekend I have confirmed the order, and reached the golden percentage number.

Because 39/45 = 86.7%

I'm ready to give a couple more, so the number probably will go up by the time I do up the full review here. Now you know why I keep posting the Tweets about the tracklist and the associated ratings? It's for this.

Also, for Aki-chan, she has a 12-track album, which also means out of the remaining 5 new tracks I just need to give 4 of them in order for her album to be on my shelf. And yes for now it's the first track, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to give that one too haha

So 11/12 = 91.7%

THE EXCEPTIONS
Of course, with any rule in Klassic Note there have been exceptions. In the past there has been the problem of singles with Anime covers (just because) typically being the Regular Edition and that has been resolved. But then other problems include the type of releases. In 2013 I approved of a 16-track LIVE CD - yes read the text again - from SPECIAL OTHERS and stated the reason that it's hard to find their albums in quality online and it's hard to find best compilations from them and this is the next best way to give them.

(For this it's 14/16 = 87.5%, which explains the math above)

This also explains why sphere's first live CD released at the start of the year is not included in my review because (1) I cannot review it online lol and (2) SPECIAL OTHERS is an exception. I can guarantee sphere has released a best compilation, and if you may recall, is already on my shelf last year.

Also in the exception list are split best compilations. Unlike Ikimonogakari's new best compilation, from last year came Aqua Timez's 10th year compilations. Yes, plural. It came in two separate releases, and mind you as I mention now Tomacchan's new best albums also come in a pair. *sigh* Anyways, so the problem then comes in when one of the two compilations (namely RED) fulfil the criterion while the other does not. Then how? Checking back at past experiences, the first such case I did was for YUI back in 2012, and then I gave both because both fulfilled the criterion, so there is nothing to worry. Unfortunately if I calculate both compilations together for Aqua Timez they do not reach 85%. And this is where I conclude for best compilations that come together they both have to be on my shelf. It's an all or none thing. And yes, this is the standard I shall follow for Tomacchan until I derive a new rule for this to not happen. But for now, I think this is a good case to prove that this number need not always hold. It can depend on the big picture.

I guess this is it. I'm tired for now, and actually decided to spend some time to push this out in preparation of the album reviews probably this weekend. I hope this gives you a little more insight (or maybe it's just for me) into how simple math contributes to decisions I make in Klassic Note, so to control the amount of releases I can and am able to purchase today. I mean, I can do the digital downloads thing in the future, but seeing a limited budget I guess this will have to do for now. Until next time then.

Foreigners do not undertake local social education. This is precisely the globalized world we live in today.

Well, you know, those people who sit when they aren't even local and are fitter than that 80-year-old standing beside him. I mean, I can list a whole of examples, but don't even get me there, please.

Monday 28 March 2016

I don't mind walking fast; I just don't want to be running all the way when the time comes.

Even though this metaphorically describes myself when i walk to the bus stop, but this kind of explains everything in life too. And also a good reminder I should start revising for my exams. With less than month, walking slowly is not an option.

The Entertainment News 2016 Edition Issue #13

I just noticed it recently. I do regular checks of the week of the year just to make this weekly post make sense, but apparently it doesn't. It's week 12 of the year 2016 now and I'm... You know what? That is why I changed the word "week" so it makes sense to me now lol

And I'll probably fix this for the subsequent ones before this and set a footnote for the first post of 2016 to tell myself this is the innovation I did to the blog post title for this year. Self-gratification at work here huh, future self. MUAHAHAHAHA

ANIME
Assassination Classroom S2: Eh... what an episode?
Well, first things first. The happy ending. Obviously the class wins everyone in the school, and they get to rejoice. Not much for the Principal and Koro Sensei, who are faced with a gamble with the principal himself. I mean, it's not a matter of being smart at this, but being evil is the way to go, Koro Sensei. Seriously, being the bad guy once to deal with real evil is okay. I, if were a student of yours, will forgive you killing the principal. How to say this... remember the first episode? Where he threatened Earth to assassinate him in a year? (I know the year is dragging on, but still) Do that stuff. Now. Koro Sensei. It's time. (Honestly saying it's pissing me off, the principal. Good job, Hayami Shou. I'm impressed.) (BTW the math problem part... it's irritating. Especially when you REALLY know hot to solve this as you are in university lol)
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi: What an ending. Probably the best I've seen in years.
Okay, the happy ending first. Not that there is a bad one, but still. Satoru obviously has a plan backed up in order to say that last sentence in the previous episode, but then it made me think for a while that whether those two (murderer and hero?)  have any form of close relationship. I guess not. But then, Satoru believing in his friends is what got him through this. And yeah, it was justified. I guess he trusted a lot of people in his life (including the culprit anyway) too, but then at least it wasn't in vain. Glad that it didn't end up in some killing spree of some sort. Sorry I'm the extreme guy lol. Now the other half. Great quote form the show is that saying you believing in something or someone especially enforces your mindset about it, and that I agree is pretty important. People just don't acknowledge that in their lives these days - me included - to even show it behind their own faces. Putting up a front is one thing, deceiving yourself of the truth is another. And thus, this is a good show to learn from. The hero theory is running a lot on this episode too, but then I guess it's fine because we owe that much of it to drama anyways. And lastly, Airi-chan. The one Satoru started to believe in before even his classmates when he went to the past. This, I don't think they are close in age enough to go out together haha
(Nice one, Sanbe Kei-sensei. You thought me a good lesson about believing in others. And Kajiura-sensei, you have made me fall in love with your creepy yet awesome suspense soundtrack yet again. Kara no Kyoukai was something, but this one is another, really.)
Dagashi Kashi (last week's): Another episode of... more jokes, but a few more truths. We now know of why Hotaru has come for Kokonotsu's father because he has one of the most original ways of managing a sweet store, well, apparently so. But then again, it's not totally true. I mean, if you're willing to pay for all the snacks he has to eat just to take care of the new store Shidare company is opening, then sure, help yourself. I'll be the Kokonotsu and say yes to this offer lol. On the other hand, the boy seems to have missed the train the second time because of a dramatic ending? What the heck, isn't it? And yes, I didn't forget about sucking something... that is a sweet. *laughs hardly*
(As usual, we have once again proven Sayashi has lady luck on her side. Or even better, she IS lady luck. Can I go out with her now please? Oh damn age gap lol)

漫画
MANGA
BLEACH: What? Not much? You serious...
Anyways, the fight between Urahara-sensei and that Sternritter? Seriously man, Kubo, you're going to piss me off. On the other hand, Zaraki is also pissing me off, cutting the opponent as much as he likes, and ignoring the spiritual land he is standing on. Well, I doubt the world can get destroyed at this rate, so whatever. Instead of kicking his ass though, Kenpachi gets his ass kicked. For now, I guess. Kudos to Kubo (lol no pun there) to prove once again Kenpachi was holding just a plain sword with his reiatsu smudged all over it before that whatever fight happened with whatever Unohana again. (Uh, my head hurts)
Kuroshitsuji: "If it's science then I can understand now." -Kaineng
Okay, stupid self-owned quotes aside. This chapter brings us more insight into understanding what is happening in this exclusive gathering. Apparently, in a nutshell, the guys inside are trying to find (possibly, ideal) blood samples to do transfusion on and possibly... revive people? Man this is getting creepy. We know blood transfusion has its dangers, and without consent and proper tools this may be bad for whoever is involved. Not surprisingly, it may be safe for now, but not for those who have been missing. They have either been the receiving end for being drawn out too much blood (you know, anemia aka blood loss) or being fed too much blood for no reason. Both are bad. And this is just going to get (biologically) worse, which is bad for my mental health. I am scared of such topics. Oh dear Yana-sensei, please don't go too much into this. But then considering the Green Witch being involved in this we may have to go deeper than we ever have to. Into someone's blood. I mean, Ciel got stripped by Sebastian, what can I say? lol

This Week on Klassic Note

Okay, finally I can do this with a smile. But let's get to the first half of the week first. Ikimonogakari's new best album is finally out, and yes by now I've already ordered the album under the exclusive Lawson-HMV offers which you guys shouldn't miss (no really, it's here, and be quick; you have two more weeks left, and two more days for the special offer with two gifts!) because I know I'll be giving more than the amount I have already given, which is about... seven songs by tonight. And there are still six more to go.

Probably going for another couple of songs still, when I have the mood. This will go down as one of the biggest reviews I've done in Klassic Note, and we are all looking forward to it, yes?

And finally, this afternoon I got to listen to Aki-chan's album, and man it's good. With confidence this is ordered with Ikimono's best album because (1) I missed the Animate one already, and (2) I missed the Tower Records one too. So no close-ups. *sob* (I know I'm going to say this part again in my review, so sorry) Anyways, the only song I didn't give was the first, because I'm not a fan of five-minute songs. Others... I give the album as I would give her previous album about two years ago. Man, Aki-chan does (get to) sing some good songs...

For next week, I don't think I have anything much, so I'll be looking around for new songs as usual. Or maybe I'll post a few more stuff as and when I have the time to, or even start that stupid thing I mentioned. You know. Going around for one month listening to what other artists are listening to. We shall see. For now, I'm just relieved I've confirmed my reviews for the month. Phew!

That's it then. I'm tired, and there is school tomorrow. My exams are near, and so are deadlines. So until next time, or when I want to start doing my work... take care. Because if you don't take care of yourself... no one will. Not even your parents. Man, talking about my parents...

[P.S. Here you go. Aki-chan galore! Personally I like the last one but it's not as a special gift or else...

And last in the MusicRayn compatibility series we have the cutest (and most どじっこ) girl in the group from TrySail Asakura Momo, aka Mocho! Momo-chan sure sounds better on this girl haha]
[P.P.S. (Audience: Lol you quoting yourself because others don't...) I KNOW]

Friday 25 March 2016

Inquire upon others so that they don't inquire upon thyself.

I sound like God lol. Anyways, it's always a good way. Especially because if people don't ask. I mean, it's great to make friends and all, but if they like to treat you as a colleague than a friend that's fine with me.

Thursday 24 March 2016

We are criminals in our own crimes. Do not show or ask for pity for it.

Not that when I mean "crime" I don't mean only bad things, for example getting cheated when you clearly know you shouldn't. Also, showing and asking for pity are different things. Look at social media and those who are pitied and you'll get what I mean.

The Entertainment News 2016 Edition Issue #12

Many songs, difficult to give. You guys have such a problem? I guess not, huh. You guys just get the whole album. Or not. Unlike me. Still listen to every single one before choosing the ones I want. Yes, I'm talking about you, sis. *laughs*

ANIME
Assassination Classroom S2: I mean, we're so near the end, and I though this was a two-cour show? What are they going to do after the next half of the season? NOT kill Koro-sensei?? Anyways, back to the episode. The principal (creepy as usual) (Kudos to the voice actor once again) has taken charge of the top class, so he's literally fighting against that octopus, but then his kid Asano-kun is right: Defeat is a way to realise that he's been clinging on too much to victory already. I mean, we know of this since episode one of season one, but what it means here may be more in-depth than it will ever be. He pleads on the End Class to help defeat his classmates to make them wake up somehow, and I guess that's a way of being different than the father, who seriously is a maniac in himself. I mean, Koro-sensei is right in the reasons of education. Who knows what the principal is out for? Oh well. He's keeping the national secret well, he's getting screwed by it too, and he gets a lot of money out of it, so... why not? Haha anyways, can't wait to see a happy ending (I mean, it's the last exam already), and if not... I don't know. Never thought too much into this show in the first place. There are many endings for this though; Not sure where the author will take a stance on this time.
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi: Man, why? And then again, why??
Okay, the story first. So it's years later, and Satoru is alive. For some reason. Easiest assumption is that he somewhat survived enough to be unconscious but not dead, and the mother - being the godliest person in this show - saved his kid and waited for the day to him to become conscious. As if that wasn't enough, the friends and other acquaintances came to meet him. However, all of them came to meet him, and because he cannot remember just yet, the murder suspect of him 15 years ago was here to see him too. Now what? Going by what the Satoru now is going, he's sure to get his ass kicked. I admire his desperation to solve a crime, but then he is at no position to do anything about it. I mean, why doesn't he make use of the people around him? That would've been better. And that would have explained something. That intro story. Have you guys read up on The Spider's Thread? No wonder. The killer was talking about Satoru. His unwillingness to seek help of others he can trust yet only trust himself. See? Mystery solved. Not yet though, 'cause the true story hasn't ended. What will happen to Satoru? We shall see next week. Man, I cannot wait.
Dagashi Kashi Ep9: Maybe it's just Hotaru-san eating too much sweets. I mean, you can have many sweets, but that doesn't make you a kidnapper and murderer lol (Haha wrong show)
Anyways, this episode. Probably dumped in as a filler episode, Hotaru-chan is ill. Down with an ulcer, she takes sweets as her remedy?? Oh well, she still likes sweets anyway, so can we just get that cough syrup for her now? Not about that, the story progression is sure weird as hell, as it starts somewhere and ends up somewhere else. Like, is not eating sweets and taking medicine too normal a things to do for you, Hotaru-chan? Maybe, I guess. She is weird, actually. Someone get her some medicine, please. I like a healthier her, really. Although thinking about that weird girl making those weird pain noises really makes me... aroused? Nah, I guess not. I'm into 3D, not 2D. Sorry, Hotaru-san. *laughs*
(Really, for once I thought Hotaru has a phobia of Kokonotsu lol)

漫画
MANGA
BLEACH: What a chapter. Apparently Askin (that Sternritter) is going overboard with his powers, so everyone's got to die now. Neliel can't seem to do anything about it, so I don't see much of a miracle here, I guess. On other things, the captains are fighting together once again. Well, the usual teams, of course. I mean, some others still have problems, but these fought together with the Arrancars before, so this is pretty understanding and pleasing to the eye here, as a reader. What happens next to Urahara-sensei? Your guess is as good as mine, which is probably he'll survive. Just barely.

This Week on Klassic Note
It's been ten years, huh, Ikimonogakari. It's been rough, though. At least, in Klassic Note.

So, with Ikimonogakari's new best album I have difficulty even giving enough songs to fulfil requirements. If you ever wonder what they are, I've given one new song, two from their album from two years ago, and probably then still have to give three more in order for me to press the button. Yeah, that's the reality, people. I'm such a person. I don't just- Oh well, forget it. No one will understand. I'm saving money here. Although I bet in the future I'll probably get myself an iTunes account to download everything I've ever wanted. But that is not until then. So for now I have to do this. Whatever.

This week I also spent some time to dig through SID's best singles album to give them chance... and yeah, I ended up giving one. Just one. Honestly saying, the popularity on this is real low. And if no one reminded me I would have just forgotten. But I didn't. So, yeah. Just one. And it's not the recent ones. It's back then when they didn't sound like what they do today. Is that okay to phrase it like that? I don't know.

Also in this week is Iwasaki Ai's new album, and yes I didn't recall this until I saw it somewhere online. But then it isn't disappointing. I've heard her albums before, and they aren't impressive, but this set of simple melodies seem to have hit my happy yet emotional side, and I think I'm going to have to be very generous here. With three in, one on hold (after like, a week of review), this one definitely compares itself with the likes of... Ikimono. Okay, probably not. I don't think so. But then again, I ask myself why I don't give male artists who play such a style.

*silence*

Because they are guys? lol

I guess that's all then. I've been slacking off at school, so it's time to catch up, if I ever can anyways. I hope you aren't like me, and your life is going well. Until next time... like some music, man, if your playlist is shorter than the number of songs I had in my first year of Klassic Note. Talking about that number, it's concealed under a new website I intend to push forward earlier in preparation of MY ten years. You know. *laughs*

[P.S.: It's Tomacchan, but due to the top bar on my phone (you know, Google) I only got to see the rest of her. Which is good in a kind of way too, haha.

This week in the MusicRayn Compatibility Series is - you (wouldn't have) guessed it - Ten-chan. Similarities? Quite a lot, in terms of appearance. For the first few times I know of her she keeps reminding me of the other seiyuu I know of who has released like, half a dozen photobooks. I mean, I'm waiting, Ten-chan. I'm not even asking much. Just bikini shots. How about that? *giggles*]
[P.P.S.: Because Ten-chan is cutely awesome in the live stream on Monday.
I thank whoever cut to her for a few more seconds. Also, whoever cropped this video up. This guy is a genius. Too bad it's on Twitter and I forgot the link. Never mind. I got it. That's what's important.]

Wednesday 16 March 2016

Perhaps theory is never the ideal. Perhaps, were calibrating our theories to match real life.

If you study (who doesn't?), you may not even notice. This also explains easily why those in technical schools tend to be better at their work when they come out of school. They don't use theory heavily. We do. And I'm still studying in a university... lol

Monday 14 March 2016

I'd rather be dumb. Being too smart is bad for my mental health.

When you notice you know a hell lot more and can do a lot more things than just stay alive, you ponder upon such stuff Really, the human-pursuit-for-more thing is too much.

The Entertainment News 2016 Edition Issue #11

It's another week again, and the damn school just gave another week off again. Okay, it's half a week considering some those courses they can't do it online. Oh well. Might as well watch more shows and live more entertainment haha

アニメ
ANIME
Assassination Classroom S2: Hey another episode about lessons again, huh. Anyways, it's the school festival, and everyone has come to visit the class' cafe. Reasonable to attract almost everyone we've seen in the story so far (I mean, I don't read the Manga so I don't know if all are here, but-), and some lies and connections got them into Internet fame. Not winning the main school's class maybe a thing, but then it's the potential. As shown in the last part, it's more important how its influence will affect the rest of the school, and the principal is worried. Just slightly.
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi: What a cliffhanger. Anyone know who's the killer already, from the start?
Not that I've no doubts about the teacher, but yes I did. Because he's the only one who is not close to him and yet can believe what he is doing is NOT playing detective. (Which explains why Kenya can believe what Satoru is doing) So he went with it, only to know the kid is actually someone who knows the future and is stopping his actions. Yes, the teacher is an evil bastard, but then Satoru may also be too careless. And that is his weakness. But actually, by having to do such a mystery from a deductive perspective than say, a destructive perspective, maybe a little to play safe, or even, too easy for the culprit to see through. It's easy to do this though, considering lending help from an adult sure is an easy way to trust people, considering a 10-year-old Satoru. So now what? We've reached the point where sacrificing oneself is the option. Will that suffice? Or will that just leave the killer rampant? We shall see. Will a phenomenon come Satoru's way again? Well, now that he knows who's the guy behind it, this may be easier if it really happens.
Dagashi Kashi (last weeks): Yeah, boobs. Who doesn't like them, right? (I almost said "who doesn't like a pair of boobs" lol) (I did it anyway) (Sucks to be Ayachi, huh.) ("Sucks" haha) Okay, mature jokes aside, this episode brings a lot more fun and focus on the sweets. That English afternoon tea thing between the girls in this show is nice to watch, the ulcer in Hotaru doesn't seem to affect her much (besides trying to scare the heck out of Sayashi), and Hotaru, like Anime production, like to cut to scenes by walking in and out of parts of the show lol. Another funny episode, but then as sick as it can be, it'll never compare to the shows out there which I rather not watch. This one is good enough haha

漫画
MANGA
BLEACH: Wow wow. Urahara-sensei's Bankai. Not like I'll get to live to see it. Well, at least not everyone. Askin (that Sternritter) sure is shocked to be the first (excluding us) to see that, but basically the Bankai can "restructure" the user and everything around it. Despite it having a range, it's pretty effective as a healing and manipulating tool, kind of reminds me of Senjuumaru, that Royal Guard who is likely dead by now. Anyways, really looks badass, and Urahara-sensei looks like a puppet (lol), cannot think of how it links to his shikai at the moment, but then who cares? At least, Kubo doesn't. Not even Grimmjow, who came in for the kill. Let's hope the bad guy's dead. I mean. He pretty much is already. Or is he? I don't know already.

SHOWS
MythBusters: For the last time, fellas. The Duct Tape Special.
What an episode. That trebuchet must be the biggest weapon they've ever built, don't even say out of that sticky stuff. Jamie's design and ingenuity must've reached a new level with this one. And in an attempt to send Buster off (NOT, else that Grand Finale episode becomes a liar) they sent him into a shipping container. Well, still better off than a concrete wall, even if at the speed of sound. Still, this one may have bounced back on him (get it?), as the duct tape strapping on him has a limit. Because by strapping too much to his seat he lost some tug from what a real seat belt can offer, and even that can fail at high speeds. (Well it was scrap car already, so...) This show has reminded me the awesomeness within, and duct tape has once proven that I love this stuff. Well done, gentlemen.
(Still by favourite duct tape creation must be that sailboat. I'll soooo buy one if any commercial company wants to build it haha)
Million Dollars, But...: This episode brings three more weird conditions for accepting a lot of money, and likely I can accept them all. Having an evil twin must be troublesome, but you know what's the least troublesome? Letting the evil twin live and I die and inherit all the money to him. Why? Because I don't want to live anymore? *silence* Anyways, the next one is interesting as it involves movies... and your friends. Man I don't mind watching my friends starring in movies because that'll be funny. I'll gladly watch my DC-fans friends act a DC movie, but because they're my only friends I'll likely only see them for all other movies I watch. Besides, I don't watch movies often *laughs* The last one works well if you think otherwise, because you lose the priviledge of farting quietly because the band will always appear. Thing is that can turn into use when you need some music. Problem comes when you do it in crowded places. I mean, if they can appear in the lift that'll be terrible lol

音楽
This Week on Klassic Note
It has been another week. Yoru no Honki Dance's new album isn't all that bad at all, but then I can't bring myself to give them more songs than I wanted to, but still I gave a couple of them. THE BED ROOM TAPE's new album(?) is not supposed to be on my list, but then one morning Gotch (Ajikan's vocal and composer) woke me up with a music video sung by him so I couldn't help but listen to this weird yet oddly tempo-kind of song. Just now I took a review for Coalamode.'s new single, and I think I can give a song or two. Just, not much after that. The girl want to take some singing lessons to get rid of her out-of-pitch? Just saying.

Next week brings (likely) only one release, which is the long-awaited Ikimono's new best album. Let's see if I really can give ALL THREE DISCS. Unlikely, but we shall see. On other things, Aki-chan's new album is close to pre-order for me. I'm displeased with one song, which is the requirement to pass the order and for it to appear on my shelf, so let's hope I listen to her radio broadcast next week in order to make the decision.

This is it then, I'm not so much in the mood to type any more. I just also did a music video review this evening, so be sure to check that out. Cya guys next time then, and until then... I hope you're having it easy in life. I know I am. And I'm feeling guilty about it. Really.

[P.S.: Mina-chan!!~ Man I rather have selfies, but leg skin is also good!! *pant*

And Nan-chan (I call her that, Natsukawa Shiina, even though this sounds like the nickname for Mizuki Nana) is here for the first in what I call the "MusicRayn compatibility series", where I pair up members of sphere (Sorry Ayahi-chan in advance) with TrySail, to see what they have in common. This pair is easy. They are the youngest in their group. Nan-chan is just 20. Serious. I'm so going to be a paedophile in the future haha]
[P.P.S.: Tomacchan is for next week. Guess who's going to pair with her? Haha #theobvious]

The Music Video Review - Bye Bye Blue (Just The Selfies)

Hey! It's that time of the year again! Time, for another music video review.

For this one, unlike the one I didn't do for Tomacchan a month ago because it's pure fanservice, Mina-chan's latest topic song brings on a different yet popular perspective for fanservice: taking selfies.

You see, Mina-chan and probably everyone at MusicRayn (where sphere and TrySail members reside) do not get to own social accounts, probably due to company reasons. Even though they have blogsthe selfies they have are too low a resolution to be satisfied at. I mean, look at Mikakoshi's photos online; you'll get what I mean. *nosebleeds*

But then again, the images below from the video do not resemble a standard selfie quality, but then it's already times better than the mini ones that exist on the blog, or if you are a fanclub member then maybe you'll get more than me, but hey, I'm here for the music video.

The story in a nutshell: She goes on a day's journey with (supposedly) close friends, take selfies of their journey, and say goodbye to (probably Monday) blues, as shown by their happy faces. Just in case I don't keep anyone's hopes too high, I assume that Mina-chan owns a Sony phone (as shown by the intro), she is recording this video with real friends, and that those selfies shown in the video are hers. Mostly. Or at least she got involved in it in some way. Nonetheless, it's (part of) her work, so we'll take these images with a pinch of salt.

The selfies in the video (in order of appearance) (as small as she would/can post them lol) are as follows:
(Yes some of them do not appear because they are video shots or are the girls preparing for the shot)
(Edit: Sorry for the not-so-perfect crops; I'm in a rush to post this here)
And YOU BET I did up the selfie collage at the end of the video. It wasn't tough, really:

And there you have it. Reasons why I still spend money on these girls. But hey, I didn't get her single because of the B-side, but I have a feeling I eventually will. Just, not this year. Which means no new special gift photo, but then it's Klassic Note, so I only take that as a benefit, not a necessity. Cya guys later for the Entertainment News for the week.

Saturday 12 March 2016

I can't afford to get any smarter.

Always rings a bell in my mind whenever I study and end up without any improvement of grades. I mean, if you understand this then you better start studying. Or else if you don't, you're good. As a human. A useful human fit for society.

Tuesday 8 March 2016

There must be someone out there who accepts imperfection, otherwise how would you even meet the passing grade?

Not only on education, but also in life. In work, in expectations from self and others, everything. I'm glad imperfection exists, so that my perfectionist thinking will not be crushed easily by the imperfect self.

The Entertainment News 2016 Edition Issue #10

Wow, I'm spending some time actually understanding US elections. Even though I have no business with it. At all. Thanks CrashCourse, you make education easy. The link is not supported by either political party. Period.

Okay, let's get to the REAL entertainment for this week lol

アニメ
ANIME
Assassinaton Classroom S2: Well this episode we focus on Nagisa. And what is of him in the future. Funny thinking about this when you have to kill an octopus in four months time, but Nagisa actually thought of being an assassin. And yes, killing the mother who is a bitch is not an option. Koro-sensei dressing as the teacher is obviously weird (and it will get even more weird if the real one meets the mother), but then the mother of course, like many other parents, must learn how to let go. Having kids in the only investment in life that doesn't guarantee returns. Not even interest. So on that, you guide, you assist, but you don't interfere. Just like with stocks. And hope someday you'll know that the kid will pay it back to you. Well, in this case Nagisa might just do that, because if Koro-sensei is killed by the class I guess you can pay back the mother in any amount lol
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi: Dammit I forgot who's that girl from the last scene of this episode!
Oh well, let's talk about everything else first. This episode Satoru saved Kayo-chan, so that is good news. The grandmother is brought into the equation to have a better than bad ending, which is a good touch to this show, and yes I teared up at some point. Thanks to the teacher, Satoru gets help covering this potential kidnapping and child murdering, but not the other two which will also appear within this era. Hiromi is well within his reach (I'm slightly confused when the subtitles wrote "I'm a man" lol) as a friend, but that Aya-chan is not. And if I didn't remember wrongly, that girl in the last scene is meant to stop this from progressing. But then we're not far from the ending, so surely this is easier than the first one Satoru has to prevent from happening, right? Yeah, hopefully the other friends in his group are not there to stop this detective group from moving on the crime prevention.
Dagashi Kashi (last weeks?): I'm already confused because apparently licensing has caused the latest episode to not go through the rest of the world. Damn. Seriously man. What the heck is wrong with this-
Okay, the episode. Less about sweets (which may be a good thing IMHO), we have a lot of slice-of-life. Starting with horror stories. Avoiding a typhoon, the kids stay indoors for some... okay Sayashi is already freaking out, Kokonotsu-kun sucks at understanding horror logic (there is no logic in horror stories anyway), and Tou-kun sucks at telling them too. Coming from a sweet which had that many stories which are fake, I'm sure I'll never need to get scared of them because I don't. I don't think like Kokonotsu-kun BTW, but I just don't. (Because I believe in BLEACH lol) Kendamas aren't a thing with boys and once again we proved that Sayashi has plenty of talent that could get her in a circus troupe, and... fortune-telling really exists. The miracles do happen. In Anime, of course. I mean, it's not like we get to see panties of girls as and when we want to, right??

You know what? I believe it. In miracles. And I have been in a few. That is why I do. *giggles*

SHOWS
MythBusters: This is it, huh. Last episode. (Well not really; I'll explain later) 14 years, and probably I've not seen everything that these people gone through. And we're at the end. But of course all things must come to an end, and we don't have to question the reason(s) for it. Still, you must see how many times I tear up already. It's probably enough to do that myth that requires tears too. See? They've done everything already. And as truly as many have said, they have inspired the rethinking of the scientific method. At least I know I have. I've not done this much in my life yet, but still. It has channelled the thinking. And that is good to all.

Let's talk about the Grand Finale episode first (if that is not the first thing you watched first then... oops), shall we? Adam, the great decision maker of MythBusters, decided to send off this show in the best way possible. First, with the biggest use of slow motion cameras. Well, not much when you can only see a fireball and not things flying apart (actually would've been better with Jamie's recommended C4 haha) but that's okay. They decided to send Buster, that sacrifice we never remember to thanks for on this show, the best possible way. And yes, it's to strap moneys worth of rockets on it to send it beyond the speed of sound. It literally disintegrated after hitting a wall. (Wow what a way to make him die lol) Sad, but then again for the last time I will say to it, "Sorry, Buster." Last but not least, we have the much-requested cement truck blowup (and as I said just now if this one is max on ANFO then the first one could've used high explosives instead), and I know I'm satisfied. I'm not the one to ask for replays because the original one can never beat this one in anyway, (as they always say "failure is not an option") but still, it will satisfy all.

The reunion episode (I don't know if it is) aired shortly after that, and it's great to see the five of them together. Talking about their worst times and best times, it's good to know people are genuinely excited for experiments as the fans do despite being on camera for entertainment and science, and that the worst thing in this world is to deal with law enforcement. Which also explains why the most amount of explosives used on this show was 5001 pounds of ANFO. Probably also the most they can allow lol. Anyways, this show has done wonders, has saved lives for the people who watched it, and has inspired many to pursue the scientific method. If it's not Archimedes then MythBusters, who else?

P.S. Next week (or actually, tomorrow) I'll cover the special episode as mentioned (which is about Duct Tape apparently!), and that will really be the last of this show. RIP MythBusters. May you come back again that is not repeated telecast or even worse, change of cast.

P.P.S. Jamie could've waited for another year to disband this group. 15 years of MythBusters would have been better than 14 years. *sob* (Guess he ran out of money. Or patience lolol)

This Week on Klassic Note
Hmm... I have not decided. And that is bad in many ways. I've rejected Silent Siren's new album in favour of SCANDAL's new album, so you can see what difference it takes for my preference of music. But even then it's not by much, as besides the songs the girls promoted I didn't give any new songs from the list, which means I only gave two. Mina-chan's new single finally got my vote to not be accepted into my shelf because of the B-side, and I can even see why just looking at the song lengths, not that it represents much. Or maybe I'm just sceptical about it. Whatever. amazarashi's new album turned out to be a great review, but then I gave less of a compliment than I ever gave the first song I heard from them last year, which I must say is a good song. But still, I managed to sift out their two topic songs from the first single and this release itself, which is quite an achievement here in Klassic Note. I do that all the time haha. Primary's new mini-album is under my sight again, and thus I decided to give a song or two now that it comes by again. (I swear it definitely passed by last year, but I was reluctant to give it) The problem I'm stuck now is with ClariS' new concept album. I mean, they are all pretty good. The bad news is that they are all very average. I'm stuck between two songs, in whether to give or not to give. Well. I'll decide by tonight. And if I cannot... there's always next week. Or maybe I should just push till next week again. *sigh* I'm becoming more indecisive generous year after year, seriously.

Next week brings the long-awaited Yoru no Honki Dance major debut album, which no doubt will stir some chaos in Klassic Note in how many songs I can give these guys. We shall see. My bet is not much lol.

This is it then. I feel like this week has been... unfulfilled. Well, it's a term break, and it'll get worse two weeks later when this happens again. Goddamn E-learning week. Until next time... I hope you're doing your work. Or schooling. I know I'm not. *laughs* Ah. Maybe I shouldn't laugh this much.

[P.S.: As promised, there's only Tomacchan this week, so there it is.

I wish to put in Mina-chan, but she'll get in the way. She can take the next two weeks haha]

The Klassic Note Review 2016.03 Issue 1

And this led to this review. It may not be the last one this month though. Mark my words. Aki-chan's 3rd album will be on my shelf. Oh, also Mina-chan's single. Maybe. Provided I get a listen of the full single by this week first. Oh well, might as well clear what's left for last month.

Really, these two singles may be underrated, as I found out after the above Tweet.

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
Sayuri - Sore wa Chiisana Hikari no you na [Single]
Limited Edition Type A Limited Edition Type B
Anime Limited Edition Regular Edition
(Well... I want a Sayuri-chan close-up, and none of these look like that. Honestly saying the drawings of the 2.5D characters are great. Details about them below.)

Origin: It didn't take long before the second single of this new Anime singer-songwriter to land on my shelf. Going by the name of "Sanketsu Shoujo" [Suffocating Girl?] (as you see in the covers, if you can), she starts - if I am not wrong - as a niconico famous artist, using the image of a set of two 2D characters (which are shown distinctly ONLY on the Limited Edition Type B cover) to exhibit her character in, and attracting much attention in the past few years before getting recognition by (you guessed it) Sony Music Japan to release Anime theme songs under her name. For your knowledge her debut song "Mikazuki" was 16th in Klassic Note rankings last year. For this second single, she teamed up with famous music composer Kajiura Yuki-sensei (as I mentioned, if you don't know this woman it's about time you do) to do the ending theme song for "ERASED" (here in Klassic Note as "Boku Dake ga Inai Machi", FYI), and it went out better than expected, I must say. Let's get to it then!

[NOTE: The different editions released have different tracklists. As with all Klassic Note reviews I only do one, and it's the Regular Edition. And in this there are only two tracks.]

(1) Sore wa Chiisana Hikari no you na [(This is) Like A Small Light]
As I mentioned above, this song was done in conjunction with an Anime, and also the composer is also coincidentally doing the soundtrack of the show, and as with such combinations it always comes out as a better integration on the show, for the better in most cases. And this song stays true to the show, at least. For the song itself without the Anime, then... I guess it's fine. It's very Kajiura-sensei in style, and I mean if you heard years of Kalafina then this might be a fresh take on her compositions, but not with a certain level of familiarity if you've heard enough of her songs. On Sayuri's case, she did well in singing it, but some lyrics (okay, just one part) sound less true to the song but to her singing style, which may not be a bad thing, I guess. Overall, a pretty good song for an Anime theme song, so I won't complain much.
Rating: 4 stars (Less Than Average)

(2) Raise de Aou [Meeting In The Afterlife]
And yes, this B-side takes this single hands down. It's a good melody to show Sayuri's music style, and it does not disappoint. Following along to her "suffocating" style, it always comes with impact, so more than emotional music becomes less of her thing from the start. In this song, she displays great, strong impact in her music, accompanied by a decent song format which I think is very different from my impression of her songs when I listened to her first single. Nonetheless, I'd like to give her thumbs up for such effort, which did not make me hesitate much in giving her the song because the overall feel is great. It was as good as I first heard it as I mistook this for another music video preview for the A-side. Oh well, such luck brought about this coincidence of a song, so I must say this is good for me, personally.
Rating: 4 stars (Slightly Above Average)

Conclusion: She's great as an Anime singer, she really can write good songs which will no doubt be of use to the Anime industry (just like Kajiura-sensei), and she's sort of cute. And young. So what do you expect? A better single? I doubt so for now, but then if you watch the Anime then I shouldn't have to convince you to like this single. As a casual listener, I sure like to give this a good effort, and unlike many other Anime theme songs, this release stands out pretty well in itself. Go give it a listen if you like some punch in your appreciation of J-Pop.

THERE'S MORE! ANIME THEME SONG GALORE!!

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
nano.RIPE - Lime Tree [Single]
Limited Edition Regular Edition
(Can someone just explain to me why the people like Anime covers for Regular Editions of singles? Even so there's no band image in this release at all? Wait, there isn't the last time I reviewed them too...)

Origin: If you have heard of them, they are a rock band. If you have been following Klassic Note, yes they have taken the first place in my rankings before, so I definitely am not unfamiliar with them since 2014. It's been two years since then, and I've been actively listening and giving them their songs from time to time (as much as I can), trying to ignore the fact that they connect with the Anime industry real well, and it sort of depends on what theme they are going for each single. In this one, it seems rather mysterious, and thus the slight chance in style for this release.

[NOTE:

Same notice as above. There's no Choucho in this review though lol]

(1) Lime Tree
This is... interesting? This is... jazz rock? As much as it maybe different or even weird from their usual style of rock, I must say this one is pretty fresh in terms of melody and slight deviation in their rock style. At first listen without any form of previews from the Anime (in which I did not watch) I must say I feel great. As an impression of listening to their usual style of music this sounds rather different. And this itself deserves my attention. Also, the song format is simple and clean, the melody is straightforward, and I guess the jagged mix on the last chorus may be irritating for me, but then this is not much. All in all this is a good song.
Rating: 4 stars (Above Average?)

(2) Kibouteki Kansoku [Wishful Thinking]
And here I thought this song wasn't very aggressive. (The title lol) But then it is, if you listen to the melody it's more hyped than it is for the B-side, and very reminiscent of their music style. Written both by the singer Kimiko and the in-house composer Sasaki Jun, this song represents the usual song style I like, and also stems to the reasons why I listened to them this late in their music career and why I'm still listening to them now. Overall a very good song. If you like this song, this will make you like nano.RIPE, and I mean it.
Rating: 4 stars (More Than Just Average)

Conclusion: It's the second single I've reviewed for this upcoming artist in Klassic Note, and I'm pleased. I missed their previous single, but that doesn't mean I cannot give another. Ignoring the Anime theme songs they contribute, then they themselves constitute a generic rock band with their own emotional and hyped style, and I think everyone should give a listen to it. Especially the B-side, I say. The singles typically do not give the band much credit on exhibition of their own music style.

THE PACKAGE
If the postman didn't call my phone to check whether anyone's at home, I wouldn't have climbed out of my bed to answer the door lol
This one only came with special gifts for Sayuri's single, because... I'm not fast enough to grab anything for nano.RIPE's. Oh well, at least I got that A4-size clear file and that Anime character card inside that single. (Audience whispers) Wait, it isn't from the show? It's one of the 2D characters? How was I supposed to know? (Yes I did not research on what the other personalities of Sayuri are, so... xD)
Also, I hope I won't get blocked just by posting the most revealing Anime cover to date haha

This is it then. My enthusiasm is running out quick haha. Anyways, these two came rather late already, which was less than expected, but still, it could've been faster. I'm done with this one, and if Mina-chan's single ever surfaces then I'll probably be doing another round with reviews with the-very-anticipated-in-Klassic-Note Aki-chan's album. Until next time... I'm running out of money. To ship these things to my shelf.
