The Entertainment News 2018 Edition Issue #43

Well I've been out doing a lot of things just now including having dinner with my family, getting that wooden automatic watch strap adjusted (hehe) because that big mall near my place doesn't even have a watch store for some freaking reason (for context there's two before it was renovated), and watching some livestream. So yeah, I have to wake up early tomorrow to travel halfway across the country so if you'll excuse me I'd like to finish this quick

Should've read the manga earlier today haha

アニメ BANANA FISH
"Why am I always being pulled down by old guys?" Oh Ash that's not what you wanted? *laughs*
I like how the whole escape involves Max's decisions screwing up with Ash's escape with the Professor lol sometimes in life man you just don't know. The new episode (#BANANAFISH16) completes Ash's escape under the supervision of Golzine and action of whoever that took the role of the old man for the Foundation. Hey, remember last episode when Golzine told him to escape? And that's why he's just watching now, probably also because he has "no power to do anything anyway". You know, legal stuff. But now, I guess everything's back to normal? Okay, what happened first. Firstly, what Ash did to escape. He was planning to escape alone, but he knew he needed evidence to tell the world once he leaves, so he brought the inventor of the drug with him so he could tell the full story. Secondly, Max and Ibe-san's involvement. Well it's mostly Max's fault, but suffice it to say their participation during the events that occur while Ash escaped were nothing but a hindrance. As a result, the Professor has been bonked on the head by a security guard, Ash has been brought up and down an elevator and he still has to save their asses after he successfully escaped with a hostage AND without their help. Thanks, old men. *laughs* All in all, they managed to disguise themselves and leave which was great mainly because Golzine let them do it, but also in consequence Ash found out that Eiji is missing. I mean, we know where he is (for now), so there's nothing to worry about maybe. So next, Ash is going after Eiji. Which will likely involve his engagement with the Lee brother (the only one left who is still sane and is in New York) which may get dirty if you want to compare it to the trash chute the three fell in or the time the guys have to watch a doctor and nurse make out. *laughs* Man, this show has everything to laugh to and I like it! *thumbs up*
Lol why is Eiji in this even though I'd argue he's technically in the same category too haha
Dear Max, if I can beat you up for everything this episode I'll do it for Ash haha
P.S. I mean, the fact that Golzine has created a genius which surpasses anything that the government has made technically makes him one of the most revolutionary people in history ever. Well, ignoring that Ash may be a genius as a kid before he was under Golzine, I guess.
P.P.S. I sure hope Mikakoshi watches this because she has not been mentioning this on Twitter (I suppose she is busy) or she just doesn't want to talk about it because I think it's a good... watch-bait? Yeah haha

アニメ Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!
"No matter what evil tries to attack you tonight, I'll protect from you all!" Says the evil itself haha
You also want to stay at home, play games all day and laze around? What a coincidence because me too, Misha!! *laughs* #SlackLife haha anyways in the new episode (#UzaMaid04) of this fantastic series which is still bombing you with pecs, lolicon and small animals (I totally dig the last part for some reason) and to top it off, displaying how much of a life you can have over the weekend. Well, if you're Misha-chan, that is. The first part brings us into the life of Misha over the weekend, and with an assignment pending I'm even glad she can forget about schoolwork until only at the end of it all. Hey, #StudentProblems, am I right?? *laughs* Okay. Thanks to the father being busy over the weekend, the maid has to stand in because how can you just leave a kid alone at home? (Okay now I'm sounding like a lolicon) More importantly, it's also because she doesn't know what to write for the assignment, as it's an essay for your future. Hey, I know I'll have problems doing that as a kid and boy am I glad I'm smart enough to write some cr*p to make up for it back then and not write what I am now doing my first full-time job (lol), but still. Thanks to the maid, she figured out what to write. It may be too realistic for a second grader (who is about 8 years old), but hey, there are more realistic things she can do as a human haha. Which brings us to the other half of the episode, where Misha brings her closest (human) classmate/friend Washiwashi (lol) to her place because she keeps showing off her animal squad to her. (And that's how you know Misha has a close resemblance to Tsubame it's literally Tsubame if she led Misha's life but with small animals) To think that she's living the life of a satisfied person (refer to Asobi Asobase for the significance of being a ”riajuu”) based on the things she do now seemingly being of a popular person (inviting friends over, playing around with them etc.), you can only guess how good this afternoon after school has become. Of course Tsubame can't get her hands off the classmate, but just slightly, she behaves herself until she gets to tell the girl to wear one of her hand-made clothing. Well, what do you know. No Misha-chan dressup. I'm as sad as Mori Ougai right now tbh haha. Anyways, the girls had a good time, Tsubame stoned so hard she's rather die (please do so then haha), and... Misha's a lucky girl because she doesn't have to worry about money now. Well, sucks to be your father then haha
God I love these things you wished life imitates these cute animals hehe
What's with this aura close resemblance to every other action Anime lol
P.S. The hamsters and Kumagoro are the best haha especially the reactions you wished animals can sync with you this well lol (sorry but gotta say it twice in one week)
P.P.S. "You push when it's time to push, and pull back when it's time to pull back" It's just like Taichi haha you want more of this? (Audience: We didn't ask for-) "I'd rather shave all my hair then let you touch it!" Haha this is just so wrong anyways you want more- (Just as an endnote if I can put every other quote and comment on it here I'll do it but I'm not going to because I'm not a freak like Tsubame haha)

アニメ Gaikotsu Shoten'in Honda-san
"A welcoming attitude is built on smiles, which is based on muscles" Oh really? lol
If you need an episode to describe why there are literally a thousand faces in this series, look no further. The faces, I mean. Specifically, the smile. This new episode (#HondaSan04) of this short episode series makes us wonder why we aren't smiling enough. Heck, I would smile all day if I'm paid more than a bookstore staff haha. Okay, for the whole thing they feature Honda-san going to this training session for the staff, and apparently it's just a sacrifice done for all stores for the sake of customer service lol. I guess it is important to train the staff even for a bookstore franchise, and we technically can't just change faces in an instant lol that guy, so yeah, Honda-san had to go through Hell, literally. It's like boot camp but only for the face muscles haha. There are a couple of things to take away though besides the cr*p that is learning how to smile: Honda-san may have found someone to like (hehe) and he is actually taking this course easily. I mean, Okitsune-senpai probably got it worse maybe we don't know we won't get to see it please don't I don't want to see it too haha
This episode in a nutshell
This freaked me out, even for just a moment.
P.S. I want to love this series, so... please make the new theme songs good which are releasing soon please I'm betting on the ending theme based on experience of listening to Anison
[O-MA-KE!! God, this is why I watch this series haha]
My normal face and when I have to smile lol

漫画 Dagashi Kashi
Haha the new chapter (132) (again, take the word "new" with a huge grain of salt as I'm aware of the Japan serialisation, thanks) talks about mufflers. How boys seemingly want one from a girl. And Sayashi can't make one. *laughs* Hey, not that she dodged knitting class in school or refused to go to the store where his childhood friend resides and watch the girls to find him for sweets (lol), but just that she's not that type of woman. And yeah, so is Hotaru apparently. *laughs* I mean, apart from thinking that Hotaru-chan is only good at sweets (mostly on eating them probably) I can't think of anything else even in games that she is good at. So yeah, again proving Sayashi is a genius, and it'll probably take an old lady from the village to teach her to make a proper sized muffler probably for Kokonotsu becuase that tiny one for the brother must be a good April Fool's Day joke haha
Me when people ask me whether I know how to do my job lol

漫画 Nagasarete Airantou
The new chapter (163) concludes on the journey to search for the legendary eggplants, and if you need a recap they only can be harvested by ninjas because they are hard to catch, only catch them in the forest every decade, and the eggplants spread pollen which can have adverse personality effects on people in its immediate surroundings, as seen from Mikoto and Shinobu when they came back from the harvest. Everyone had a great feast of the eggplants and- Wait Shinobu was affected too? You bet! Haha actually Mikoto being poisoned technically will be a normal villager in the island which will be a good thing maybe until you remember this story is a harem fest so one less (or two if Mikoto stalks on that carpenter lol) of them would be easy on Ikuto to be honest haha
Things that will not happen in a decade to savour it while it lasts haha

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
Wow this was quite a week in Klassic Note, probably the busiest. And because so I did not have enough time to finish them all. So let's talk about what I listened to this week. I confirmed on Kuraki Mai's new mini-album after like what, 3 weeks in review? Yeah, and also because I saw that music video with Mikakoshi in it haha happy birthday Kuraki-san. Anime "Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!" theme songs are... you just need to know I only gave the opening theme because I'm kind and that is your stereotypical theme song so I just closed one ear giving it haha. Tsuji Shion's new album is actually rather good, but if this was what she was focusing on after her 2nd album in 2016 I would say it didn't change much. Her further emphasis on pop styles make me want to give less songs but it's not as bad as the melodies because most of them aren't that good and it took her livestream to burn that topic song into my brain and I just gave it because I have the mood and I listened to it too much on one day and that day is Wednesday when it came out haha. Lastly, Toyosaki Aki's cover album was... man, I can't give 70s Japanese songs, I guess. That, and it sounds so like her album because it's mixed to her style and while her singing on them were great those aren't spectacular melodies. I'll see if I can even give any of them because fumika probably did better in Klassic Note in terms of cover songs given lol (Aki-chan, this might be the first second release I'm going to reject I'm sorry)

Talking about cover songs, I've yet to listen to (we're still at releases this week btw) Yoshioka Kiyoe's cover album ever since her solo debut earlier this year (yes Ikimonogakari vocalist blah blah) so I'll give a listen to that next week. Also on the pending list is Kalafina's 10th anniversary best album, which I think is the final, but still not enough to get into my shelf mostly due to lack of new songs I've given over the past few years. That, you can blame Anime mostly on it. What are they going to do besides sing for Anime? I mean, write good songs because they are better without credit? Someone tell Kajiura-sensei that please

Next week brings us a couple of releases we should definitely take note of besides Anime "Gaikotsu Shoten'in Honda-san" theme song single which I better try to give one of them (opening theme probably, ending is better maybe), Numakura Manami's new single because she's cool and it's been some time I gave her a song, and TWEEDEES new album because why not? I'll be looking forward to that in particular but as from the preview tracks in Apple Music (three of them) I'm getting worried already. (Did I say that last week? If not then forget about this lol)

Lastly on news from Twitter because you're too lazy to go check out my liked Tweets, Tsuji Shion's LINE LIVE livestream was literally just for the music video maybe and her... her assets? *laughs* SpecialThanks seems to have lost another member making their band a two-member group now and that spells a lot of anything but bad news, TrySail's new single sounds... better than their previous single which I hated lol, miwa's new song has a "Title" (pun intended) (not joking that's the song title), I will give a listen to wacci's new album releasing next month I swear (thank goodness they are in Apple Music), FLOWER FLOWER is coming into major streaming platforms soon hopefully (some guy on Twitter said he can see some of the tracks on Spotify) (some, bro, isn't ALL haha), and that stupid girls group from Korea (haha) which I gave the one song this week (oh I forgot to mention them above?) TWICE is releasing a new album which is actually their first album in Japan released like two months ago PLUS that one song. Re-released. Full package. It even writes "Repackage" on the title. Totally intended to rip people's money off. Hey, thanks marketing; you know idolism best. #CapitalismAtItsFinest lol I'm not that dumb this one song is all you're getting (I DARE YOU to compare the tracklist in this with this) (Put side by side and tell me) (You can't put browser tabs side by side on desktop? You've not been using Vivaldi browser? #ad)

Okay I'm done. I need to wake up early tomorrow- Oh I said that already haha. Cya guys tomorrow for Honda-san, and next week... if I have Internet access over the next couple of days I'll try to do up the pop-ups. But with my luck I think I'll have to mobile tether just to even get work done because I don't know the client location's Wi-Fi password?? Oops I think I spoke too much haha bye

The Klassic Note Spirit Part 3 – The Year 2009 and the Big Bang

In the previous post, we discussed on how Japanese music came to influence how I would perceive music as melodies instead of thinking of language as a barrier, and even opting for music without vocals altogether. In this part, we shall talk about the explosion of music entries in Klassic Note and what came into the list that will eventually stand as a force to putting in definition what it means to discover new melodies that have yet been released.

The Klassic Note Spirit Part 3
"The Year 2009 and the Big Bang"
(*The below information is an adaptation of the original excerpt which was posted here in 2013)

ANIME INFLUENCE CONTINUES
If not for Anime, I would lose half the reason to be here listening to J-Pop. Thus, I continued to watch more Anime. From "K-ON!" to "Kara no Kyoukai" to "Hatsukoi Limited" to "Shakugan no Shana"… a whole variety of genres (somewhat only having female leads LOL) that got me to know a whole lot of artists, including "BLEACH" which is still ongoing at that time. "K-ON!" especially is the first show to have me dive in to so much into Anime songs instead of listening to mainstream. This is far different compared to Anime "Toradora!" in the previous year. As the year goes on many Anime songs end up in my list, and many have the potential to compete with the mainstream songs.

Also at that year, many voice actors were introduced into the music industry, going solo and releasing singles and albums for our fandom and idolization. Emphasizing on Anime appearances and popularity rather than their singing compared to mainstream and Anime artists, these female talents managed to catch my attention. Notables include Tomatsu Haruka (who started in the previous year but not until now do I noticed her in "Kannagi") and Toyosaki Aki-chan (mainly due to her main role in "K-ON!"), and along with this many other music labels and talents companies start to follow, creating their own divisions for not only voice talent, but a whole package of being a all-round artist in the Anime industry. Voice actor groups also start to appear, with one of the first being Sphere, consisting of the two I mentioned above, Kotobuki Minako (who started her solo debut the following year) and Takagaki Ayahi (who… I end up not giving her songs until 2014). They, unlike many others that followed, are actually groups which are created under talent company MusicRay'n which focuses on expanding their talents in various forms of media including music, and this shows how much forward planning are companies there to promote their voice talents.
It's going to be ten years, ladies.

NEW ARTISTS APPEAR
Apart from the above, many new mainstream artists also start to appear in Klassic Note thanks to Anime from STEREOPONY and SCANDAL who brought out the Rock in Japanese music, to Lil’B, Porno Graffitti, SID, Kalafina and many more. They continue to complement the Klassic Note library, bringing in more great songs that I could ever imagine.

J-ROCK EMPHASIS
Since THE NANO-MUGEN COMPILATION was released on a yearly basis, I’ve been starting to listen and give many artists from it. OGRE YOU ASSHOLE is a good example of the exotic, Alternative Rock that is in Japan. SPECIAL OTHERS also has made yet another impact with their album “PB”, making it the best I’ve heard from any release even at that time.

Quirky video and voice isn’t it? Unique, I would say.

OTHER LANGUAGES IMPOSSIBLE?
But of course, that does not mean Japanese songs are everything. English songs were in THE NANO-MUGEN COMPIALTION too, and at that time I was still transitioning from watching any drama to specific Anime, so Korean and Hong Kong dramas are still in my list and keeping a song or two is somewhat necessary. This shall be rectified in the 10th year decisions which we will discuss in a future post.

CHALLENGE OF MUSIC SOURCING
With the revamping of SonyMusic Online (around that time it was my main source for audio previews I guess) and many region locks and copyrights of various sources in Japan, it became difficult to get even a listen from sources which are not as popular. Back then J-Pop is still not widely promoted (compared to what it is today) and I had to dig through so much just to get a listen to songs which are the latest in Japan. The good news is that I’ve always been able to get it through other means, which largely did not stop me from finding more songs to listen.

THE ARRIVAL OF HIGH DEFINITION MUSIC VIDEOS
With the implementation and conversion to HDTV channels in Japan and the opening of more music-based channels, this led to the community online publish and promote high definition videos of various Japanese songs over the Internet. Of course I’m glad of such a backbone in wake of such a lack of promotion as mentioned above; it just makes things looks better than before. (We don't talk about life before HD because it sucks) One of the first I’ve been impressed thanks to the upgrade in technology might be RSP and their songs, with music videos telling a stronger story each time after splitting up with their dance group to focus on songs instead. Pity they have been dormant since the following year.
(Below is NOT the HD version though; I just want to share the song with you guys)

THE IDEA OF SONG AWARDS
With song counts a record high every other year, it’s no wonder this brain of mine end up deciding on carrying on this spirit of listening to new melodies expressed wonderfully with a determination to discover and a huge language barrier. It’s also around this time that I started to think of awarding and giving recognition to those who have made my everyday life (Flat Three song title pun not intended) meaningful in an era of uneasiness and stress. And that is how I decide to come up with the "KN Song Awards" as it was initially called since I couldn't come up with a good name and used my own initials instead. ("initials", get it?)

The original Song Awards (it was an Excel) document consisted of several fundamental things you might see in in a music awards presentation: Awards, Top 20 rankings in my case because I felt this was the perfect balance between giving artists recognition and not boring myself to death over choosing who should be in it, Song of the day which has been established since 2006 when I noticed the power of diary-writing and song title dictation and some basic statistics which I picked up from my math lesson in school. This probably was the basis of understanding computer logic and basic statistics because at that time, I have no idea what I was doing. Despite that, I came up with a decent list of things to discuss about the song list that I did which wasn't that long at that time too. (I know, right? I'm weird)

As you can see from this website which is still up (although I'll be migrating to a new website soon maybe), I showed my bias towards recency (Year of Release Survey), song judgement and appreciation (Song Ratings Survey), lists and lists of music videos and translated lyrics I compiled since I had plenty of free time alone (I mean, I can't even read a word of Japanese Kanji back then, not even say the basic character set "gojuuon") and gave artists credit for making their songs stand out in many ways than other (Commendations) for what would be generally considered a mess today. Looking back, these became the beginnings of a long and yearly run for me to compile these results (manually) and share them online, though at this point it's all in private for my viewing pleasure. Well, not unless you know of my blog which was probably also secluded from the World Wide Web. You know, I'm kind of an introvert even till today.

Next up: The Klassic Note Spirit Part 4 – The Year 2010 and the Exclusion Principle
(It is meeting its downfall and bias already, after all the exploring in foreign land? I don’t think so...)

The Klassic Note Spirit Part 2 – The Year 2008 and the Culture of Initiation

Welcome back. Previously we talked about how Klassic Note started and mainly where and how all this listening to Japanese music even came about, living in a place without such music culture. In this part, we talk about how my enthusiasm continues to power the amount of songs I listen to and want to listen to, bringing upon more joy as I immerse in their music culture.

The Klassic Note Spirit Part 2
"The Year 2008 and the Culture of Initiation"
(*The below information is an adaptation of the original excerpt which was posted here in 2013)

"I suppose here's where everything really started rolling: The introduction of Anime theme songs and its unique style drew me into this world I know of as "J-Pop". And yes, I - at that time - am enjoying it. It should be the time that I felt the most of (it)…"

THE DEDICATION TO SEARCHING
Many thanks should be given to the artists I dedicate many hours to find out their other songs from their debut till date, which include solo artists like YUI and bands like Aqua Timez and Ikimono-gakari. Many songs at that time came in to make me touched hit me in a different way I felt from Chinese songs which are mostly emotional and mostly tied to love. And it is that difference, I guess is how they attracted me to listen to them. These made me end up with above 100 songs by the end of the year, compared to the handful of songs I listen just a couple of years ago. Let's take for example, Aqua Timez. The unique long string of lyrics I don’t hear anywhere else (normally it’s too long that it became rap) actually are strings of meaningful words with the aid of several fan-subtitled (also called "fansub") groups to let me understand the lyrics, bringing understanding to the scenery and worldview they were presenting. Back then I may not have understood the songs that much, but it does not matter. The melodic tunes are truly what attracted me.

"They (My parents) ask why I like to listen to songs 'that no one understands', but I tell them I'm 'listening to the melodies instead of the lyrics'."

THE INFLUENCE OF ANIME

Additionally, the influence of Anime has not stopped in providing me with fresh new melodies especially from artists that I don’t know of, and that maybe on their road to debut release or just a long-run veteran in the industry. This is so much so to the extent that I actually watch Anime just to listen to the theme songs (two typically in a series, opening and ending) or even just give the song a listen and dumping the show entirely because I like the music more than the Anime itself. Bands like THYME and VELTPUNCH are great examples of such a trend, ignoring shows like "Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto -Natsu no Sora" and "Nabari no Ou" which were probably popular back in 2008.
THYME:
Cool girl isn’t it? Is she even Japanese?? And...

The best song of the year. And of course an awesome song is in an Anime...

VELTPUNCH:
Anime “Nabari no Ou” Opening Song. With subtitles!

FORMAL INTRODUCTION AND EXPOSURE TO J-ROCK

Just like above, when I was just enjoying the songs of J-Pop, I was actually more influenced by the songs that Rock! One of the artists responsible for the expansion of Klassic Note and the search is above: a 90s debut alternative rock known as VELTPUNCH. Their music style is so uniquely appealing it makes me have a desire for more like you'd never believe. Along with bands like ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION (Ajikan) and Chatmonchy, they bring the best and special of the genre that is Japanese Rock music. With Ajikan and their own compilation, THE NANO-MUGEN COMPILATION which consists of Japanese rock and English rock artists and their featured tunes with live tours featuring those artists, help bring along the best and amazing styles of Rock music I've heard so far.

"Among all the stress, J-Rock truly made me 'high' and 'emo' (emotional) and forget about all the stress in school that time."

HOW DID INSTRUMENTALS?

And it’s not only songs that made me interested, because back then there was instrumental and J-Rock group "SPECIAL OTHERS" who are so special and different from others - hidden in the NANO-MUGEN COMPILATION as mentioned above - who started me on a journey to listening to instrumental music from Japan instead of songs with vocals, even though before that I was just listening to piano instrumentals or even classical music. That didn't have a language unlike singing Japanese, and that I have nothing to judge on besides the beats. And back then I can't believe how good they were and how happy I was, joining the fans in listening to their live video performances; Looking at them already makes you feel the beat and want me to go join in their live someday.

That’s all I guess. There’s definitely more from other artists from various other shows I watched, from Anime "Nagasarete Airantou" featuring voice actress and solo artist Horie Yui (you guys should know her as you probably watched a show from this veteran at some point) to Anime "Shakugan no Shana" featuring Anime artist Kawada Mami (artists signed exclusively to Anime music labels) in the theme songs. These artists go a long way to define the unique melodies in Klassic Note that is from J-Pop and J-Rock and many, many more.

The Entertainment News 2018 Edition Issue #42

So once again, no more Anime Extra from this week onwards because... it's only Honda-san now which is a half-length show and I'm not going to open a post OR am I going to wait six days to post my review, so it'll be here. At the time it's posted, tomorrow. I know it's confusing, so I'll do it again below, yes?

Oh yeah, the weekly post. Well technically I've done three more over the weekend, so be sure to read them all. KN10YEARS is starting this week (I'm not going to promote this thing on Twitter because it's not going to do anything spectacular anyway), and hopefully by December I can finalise my compilation lists and announce it here. Let's get this week's stuff done and over with. (Spoilers: Not for music I don't have enough time or mood to listen to new songs)

アニメ BANANA FISH
"There's nowhere for you to go" I mean, Eiji can go back to Japan just like Ash wanted. *laughs*
Aw man, no sex?? But seriously, if you didn't intend to change TV channels so bad when you see Ash dancing, I want to because I am most definitely NOT GAY haha. Okay, the new episode (#BANANAFISH15) brings back Golzine (finally), lets Eiji off the bat from Lee (it's going to be the one guy in their family who in charge now so I'm not going to say his first name or whatever) and reveals that firstly, Ash is not dead. I mean, if that isn't any more obvious to any of you you're as dumb as the local media lol. So yeah, Ash is sent to the Mental Institute (which was established recently, for some reason) (2012?? I thought this story was created 20 years ago!) not to be killed of course, and if it's any surprise to you, to be experimented. By the CIA it would seem, because now that they took charge, and apparently they got rid of Golzine's role in the whole thing. Hmm, good time to do that I guess, but the old man's back and he needs to get a hold of the situation. Thankfully he's still friends with Kippard who now runs the project, so he's not totally off the hook. Ash, on the other hand, is in another predicament, as we find out more about the drug. Scientists have found out weaknesses that will eventually make recipients of the drug stupid (not joking), and to remedy that they have to test new samples on smart people like Ash I guess? Hey, we're already seen like two retards who now talk like robots, so... *laughs* Fortunately, it was just a jab... of anesthesia, and Golzine did sort of spare his life so he could see his "kid" come and take revenge on him? Haha you wish. Likely for salvation, and to remedy the current situation. Because now it's no longer only Ash vs Golzine as we continue to uncover the bigger conspiracy with the government being controlled by other private organisations? You're welcome, capitalism. So yeah, that is that. I don't want to make myself seem more complicated explaining this lol. On the other side, Eiji manages to "escape" after hearing of Ash's "death", and now is in the... care? Of Shing, that Chinese leader who was previously with Shorter. #RIPShorter but hey, this guy here is still kicking and alive. It wouldn't do much for Lee to let Eiji go, but why not? He is not of threat and "easily retrievable" (lol), so that's not going to be a problem. For now, everyone rather deal with how Ash is making his escape, considering that this lab apparently gives public tours which is great and Max is dumb enough to introduce himself to Golzine about him writing a report on his deeds. Man, this show's got drama and makes it easy to understand haha. Ash's brain though, not that easy to comprehend to be honest. "Prodigy" may be an understatement for this 18-year-old.
MFW that guy in the cell does something funny (no sexy scenes included)
MFW that guy in the cell does something funny (no sexy scenes included)
P.S. As a Chinese-speaking human, 请把我的耳朵剁掉我已经受不了了 haha OMFG that dubbing accent (Yes I provided translations on it hover/tap to see it) (And please use a professional translator to hear whether the voice actor for Lee spoke it correctly. Spoiler: He didn't.)
P.P.S. Ash's IQ is over 200? Can we get him to be President of the United States?? The current one is as if he was inserted with B1. *laughs* (Please don't kill me)
[OMAKE!!! Not a GIF though]
Golzine be like "remember to escape alive so I can f**k your a** again" lmao (ugh)

アニメ Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!
"I promise to love you, even after your first period." This is so wrong in so many ways I can't even
Little does she know that if you leave the house that maid will ravage the shit out of the room like there's no tomorrow and make it look like normal before you even return haha. This new episode (#UzaMaid03) actually details on why it sucks to be attractive in looks. Hey, not an everyday phenomenon even for those who put on makeup (and it's reality for me already), but you know, Misha is a good exception. But seriously, never crossed my mind when I think of why I'm never in the same school as those in international schools. Partly because of social status I believe, but yeah, blending in for most of foreign students will be rough. I mean, I would say otherwise for university but, kids are insensitive. And that can mean a lot of problems. Like for example, how our girl Misha here end up not wanting to go to school because of all the unwanted attention. And so, Tsubame tries to convince her to go to school. It worked of course, dressing up like a student and going with her which she promptly rejects (lol can't you disguise yourself as the teacher?) making her think that she should go to school herself to avoid the nightmare that is the maid lol. And so she did. (We will not talk about what happened to Tsubame when she HAD to monitor the kid in school) And it turns out, it wasn't that bad. I mean, because there's something worse than her not going to school haha. Okay, story goes that she and another girl take care of a couple of hamsters in class (and that's why you don't buy one male one female) who to be honest is best character this episode because not only did she not blame Misha on her absence but also helped her with schoolwork... Okay, back to the hamsters. Because mainly due to the teacher who thought taking care of one hamster cage is easier than two, it quickly became a disaster since the two hamsters were having it off like rabbits. *laughs* So yeah, Misha took it to her hands to resolve the issue and - of course with the help of other classmates - perhaps make things a lot better for the class. And this, is how you make an impression, kids. Don't be an emo kid; be proactive. And that's what Misha should be: a girl who can stand on her own, instead of mourning over her mother's passing. The father is right though: It takes time for her to forget about it before he can try to convince her to lead a normal life, but hey, the maid did kind of do it through negative encouragment so that's good haha. Honestly this show is great. Just... ignore the pecs and her stealth skills in the toilet lol she hid UNDER the stairs wtf
MFW I realised I said something contradictory haha
MFW I realised I said something contradictory
and no one else found out because they're dumb lol
P.S. And you thought Tsubame is only into Misha when you realise she likes "little girls" which will confirm her lolicon obsession but hey "Russian species" are hard to find in Japan, isn't it? *laughs*
P.P.S. MFW I found out I said something dumber than a contradicting statement lol "I'm Russian so I don't have to go to school"
[OMAKE!! Kumagoro still MVP btw the new kids didn't change my mind haha]
You know they're gonna f*** the moment you put them in the same cage lmao
Their love can be represented by this image lol

[2018.10.22 Update: Oops just noticed I can only edit this unformatted so I'm staring at HTML now as I review this haha]
アニメ Gaikotsu Shoten'in Honda-san
"More, please!" "We're out!" "Then why are you here!" Haha #SoTrue
To answer your first question, Honda-san? Yes I have seen people in suits come into otaku bookstores you should watch Wotakoi haha oh they are not customers? Okay, the new episode (#HondaSan03) has practically made Honda-san break his shoulders. And again, it's with customers. But first, not customers. They are called salespersons, however they do not sell directly to consumers but to bookstores. And with heavy changes in supply and demand (even if demand is just the one guy who bought 200 copies) this can be either a wonderful meeting or the worst encounters in the day of a bookstore staff ever. From running out of stock or screwed up orders to trying not to accept too much novelty they cannot afford to stuff as decor for the store, there's always something to worry about. Then, there's customer trivia. Because people are often lost when they want to find new stuff to read, it's hard for any of the staff to come up with some good recommendation off their minds. So, they pop open that staff room door and ask the others. And when you thought trivia games were fun, wait till you can come up with something better than these guys the moment that one French guy had pretty much no clue to give you and he wants to buy something for the granddaughter. I mean, Honda-san did pull it off in the end so that's good. That and probabky his shoulders too I would think lol
That's me down there when I think how colleagues will treat me if I interrupt them
Lol didn't even notice the words were the same thing
P.S. The reactions in this show are fantastic you bet I'm going to finish this series... until I give the theme songs which will release next week haha cannot promise now I've got a reputation to maintain

音楽 This Week on Klassic Note
I didn't give anything this week. *laughs* What to do? They aren't all that impressive to give off the bat! But yes I did listen to a couple of releases this week. ORESKABAND's new song was okay, and still better than that other band I'd rather not talk about now because I rejected their digital singles two times now (it's Yogee New Waves), so I might just give it. Who knows when these girls are going to come up with something soon, and I'd rather not wait. SIXLOUNGE's new mini-album wasn't impressive to be honest, and even their topic song turns out going in from one ear and out of the other. I did mark one song though so I'll see if I can give that or not. Kuraki Mai's concept album was still in the questionable area as said from last week, so I'll need time to give them. *sigh* No new songs already?

Talking about new songs, the theme songs for that maid Anime above are going to be released. Yeah, I have to give one of them. Ugh. I just hope the opening theme isn't a disappointment because there is NO FREAKING WAY I'll give the ending haha

In Twitter news, hey didn't notice Minase Inori is in Apple Music now and other streaming services (which I don't care) with her new single release which I did not listen to (thanks King Records), TWEEDEES new album is due in two weeks, (from the preview video I'm liking a couple) ClariS is releasing their new album in November, and LILI LIMIT is disbanding. Yeah. Real sad now because I've got nothing to say when I want to show others what... I listen now. Oh well. Those were a good two years tbh

That's it then. If I have the mood I'll do the attachments on the post. Cya guys next week then. Well actually tomorrow but you probably won't notice the one part pop up in here so... next week then. And hopefully by then I can complete the rest of Klassic Note Spirit to publish all of them in schedule. Yeah, got like three more years to go haha

The Klassic Note Review 2018.10 Issue 1

Hi guys. I said it'll be soon, but I took my time because my weekends are precious so here we are lol

On the other hand I'm here to review another one of those single-track releases so if you would excuse me I'd like to finish this quick. Thank goodness they are all good, otherwise I'll not do it already haha. This one is from an Anime "BANANA FISH" which I must say is pretty good and popular, so you guys should go check it out. Their theme songs are dope by the way (*Accurate as of first cour)

音楽 The Klassic Note Review
King Gnu - Prayer X [Single]
(Interesting artwork, I must say. It'll leave an impression, to say the least)

Origin: I know little of this band, to be honest. But if I knew them earlier, I may be interested. Dipping into Alternative music genres, King Gnu is somewhat special in their expression with quite a lot of Rap, some Rock, but none unlike this one. Thanks to Anime "BANANA FISH" I'd like to believe the band set out to make an impression showing the grim mood of the series, and that immediately left an impression. Fast forward a month after its digital release, and a disced copy was released I guess due to its popularity. It sure was unexpected, but since it's Klassic Note I have to give them, and here we are.

(1) Prayer X
From intro:
"Like the tears that flow out and shining for (that) moment, as if that was life
(With) encounters and farewells repeating in the days (we live in), what in the world should (we) believe in?"
And yes, this is describing a song of conspiracy. A lack of trust, and in general what is the Anime it was represented all about. Dark in theme, but the melody is sound, and it did catch my attention at first listen even at the preview. The overall song was short which was good for making it impressive, so I thank them for that. The lyrics above repeat throughout the song, so if you wondered what it felt like, there you go. They also went a little further to describe the killings and surviving in the dark world in general, but that I shall not dwelve futrher. To know that this was a melody to remember, with a unique pop style and memorable lyrics, this makes of a perfect song to like.
Rating: 4 stars (Above Average)

Conclusion: This is a good single. Of course, I'm giving it credit because it's a single-track release, but this one stands out on its own to be recommended, to be honest. The acoustic track (though short) stands to make you like the song more, and I would say if you liked this style this release is a must-have in order to remember their feat for producing music for Anime. You have my respect, King Gnu; This was impressive for a song.

-Kaineng, on the Klassic Note

THE PACKAGE
Because of a certain thing I mentioned in the review earlier, you might have guessed this might be a haphazard production. In their news feed there wasn't an expected disced release which was why I gave the digital single when it was out in August. But come one month later was this, and if not for the Anime's Twitter account promoting this, I wouldn't have known. But hey, I'll do it. It's for Klassic Note anyways. But, I didn't expect a glorious release package. And I wasn't wrong.
As you can see inside, those light blue bars are either done by an intern to make sure we can see the lyrics or they just are rushing for release. I can see the lyrics though, but man did they not bother to make it look good. From custom font to making it look like the red font around it would be easy solutions but I do not want to further comment. This must be by far the most disappointing single release ever in Klassic Note. Okay, Earphone's slip case for a single may be below that, but this one is close second. Also, it used wrapping instead of plastic packagaing so I had to put on one of my own so it can look good standing on its own. Ugh. *laughs*
Klassic Note Review 2018 so far.

This is it then. Cya guys tonight, if you have finished reading the last two posts from yesterday. Yes, KN10YEARS is kicking off. But just like 5 years ago, I'm not going to make a big fuss about it. But I will. Eventually. Until tonight, then.

The Klassic Note Spirit Part 1 – 2007 and Where It All Started

Hi, and welcome to the KN10YEARS segment where I talk about the story behind my biggest passion and hobby till date: music appreciation. Okay, that might just be it for all of us, but it is rather important to me, and has taken up much of my life than what my life represents right now. And so, I'd like to talk about the journey. The journey, where I took 10 years to passionately search for something I like in music. The journey, I'd like to call "The Klassic Note Spirit". Let's start from the beginning, shall we?

The Klassic Note Spirit Part 1
"2007 and Where it All Started"
(*This is an adaptation of the original excerpt which was posted here)

THE BEGINNING
It is surprisingly hard to determine how it all started considering that by the time you realise it you're already deep inside, unable to find the origin. I suppose it was because of my craze of several Anime at that time which influenced me when I was still a (secondary school, or middle school senior equivalent) student in 2007 listening to Chinese songs and oldies, watching and laughing to old shows and to practically any media that appeared on the TV. At that time I’m still far from using the Internet due to the speed limitations that prohibited the development of mass downloading of any sort of media. Of course, if I had to define a start to everything, that shall be...

"If it was anything that started the J-Pop craze, it has got to do with Anime. And for my case, it is none other than BLEACH."

THE REAL BEGINNING
Well this is not exactly true. What really started goes a little further than that period of watching Anime. In fact, it should be more further back. In 2006, Japanese music had influence over Singapore and what we listened as music. And among them was Koda Kumi. Yeah. Her music video back then surprised me, opened me to a new world of beauty (I was exaggerating here to show impact) who can sing to the tunes I like. And maybe it’s because of that, I started to fall in love with specifically one of her songs, named "Koi no Tsubomi". (Trans.: Bud of Love)

Bud that said (pun intended), probably it was because she started my interest in Japanese songs, followed by Anime "BLEACH" as the boost - where I got to hear many theme songs from a variety of mainstream artists in Japan - which meant a lot to keep my interest going. A good analogy would be if Koda Kumi’s song was the starting fluid, then Anime "BLEACH" theme songs were the fuel. Here I thank the Anime staff (production and all, especially the composers and artists in the theme songs) for making an impact on me.

"I still remember those days where I was waiting for a new episode or arc of (Anime) BLEACH to be subbed and when I heard the new theme song, all (of) the action came to me. It was the first time I heard such a powerful and different (style of) rock music. It was the first time, I knew of Ajikan. (ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION)"

THE POWER AND IMPACT OF J-ROCK
Looking back at them, those were the days, wasn’t it? Another representation of such power in the first songs I've heard which made J-Rock was Sambomaster. Their feels for Rock n' Roll music is probably one of the strongest and most influential in Japan. Their appearance in an Anime "BLEACH" movie may end up being the best of the theme songs which got me hyped back then, titled "Hikari no Rock". (Trans: Rock [Music] of Light)

"At that time, I repeated the song so many times just to shout along and then weep on the last chorus. Seriously; It was just a song…"

And that is probably how it all started. Some exposure to J-Pop a decade ago when it was locally popular (screw you K-Pop) along with a slew of Anime theme songs... It was abrupt, it was sudden, it may have been an orgy of new songs I have never heard in Chinese or English music, but back then it was fresh. So fresh, I've decided to stay and search for more. It may not have been to do with my introverted personality though; it needs another story for this. But still, music may have been what everyone liked, but being inside Japanese music... that was my life. And my desire to want more could not stop.

Next Up: The Klassic Note Spirit Part 2 – The Year 2008 and the Culture of Initiation
(I'm soaking in new songs like a sponge right now to be honest)

The Klassic Note Initiation for Dummies (2007-2017)

Hey. I hope you're noticed, we're going to be serious from here on.

Today marks the start of a series of posts under #KN10YEARS which I shall discuss in detail on whatever is this phenomenon that has kept me going, which I refer as Klassic Note. So firstly, I will kick things off in here by talking about what it is about, and what makes any song out there worth adding to my song list.

Yes, I know this should've been done back in 2017 but I can still remember how it feels, and many of the "rules" which I shall refer to in this post, still applies today.

(LONG POST WITH NOTHING BUT TEXT WARNING)

WHAT IS KLASSIC NOTE?
Klassic Note - as it has been previously abbreviated as "KN Song Awards" as taken from my initials because I didn't have that much creativity for a name back in 2011 if I'm not wrong - is the name for the analysing, exploring and in general, my song list after treading into the Japanese music industry circa 2007. I felt that back then the sudden surge of new songs and exposure to various styles of music even within specific genres affected my life drastically that I notice it was worth to remember them. And what better way to do so with awarding and complimenting at scale? And here we are.

THE MOTTO
Klassic Note in general had three main motto, two of them are used within the 10 years from origin.

For the 5th year anniversary in 2012, I knew that I should come up with a general direction for this project, and also try to describe the mood and goal of such a project, and with that, I focused on "Searching For A New Melody", which brings upon the fact that all I've been doing since the start is to explore, to find new melodies, to find different feels which can express my daily life, and I think I've done a real good job to follow that motto. From different genres and music styles and an array of artists to follow, this was an adequate representation.

However, as times changed, so did the feels. Setting judgement and giving certain levels of criteria to so objectively give songs from all walks of media, I thought of using certain level of objective criterion so I can distinguish the good ones from the everyday oens which I will still give with increased comfort following the artists I liked in style. So in comes "Searching For A Different Melody" as of 2017 to better represent Klassic Note, which shows the need to hear something different other than sticking to the usual comfortable melodies and styles or even genres, giving what was previously impossible to pass for song requirements a better chance, and giving transformation bigger credit for the goal to impress.

THE RULEBOOK
This, of course, is not THE rulebook because I'm human. I have my opinions, so I won't just give any song off the streets. Neither am I a robot, so requirements in this post won't always apply. Release time, size (single, album), marketing and relation of the artist with me in Klassic Note are heavy factors which have changed over time. But today, we shall talk about what did make most of the songs stay in the list instead of being brushed away as quickly as I finished hearing the first chorus. Yes, let's talk about it.

But before that, we need to talk about song structure. Specifically today's pop music structure. I'll like you to take a short read at Wikipedia if you have the chance, but if you don't, I'll give you a quick brief to what I think is in a song. Four terms you need to be aware of before we talk about them. Verses are parts of the song which lead to the chorus. Pre-chorus are right before the chorus and are typically shorter than the verses. If you don't know of the chorus I don't know if you know music or not becuase it's the part of the song everyone cares about. And finally, the bridge is the part of the song which creates an alternative transition from the (typically) middle of the song ie. second chorus to the final chorus and eventually, the end of the song. Other than these four, most of the parts of the song can be flexible, as these are more easily identified.

So, the rules, and on what I have given and have not given over the years.

Firstly, in melody. The melody describes what notes go into a song, and how they sound greatly affects how much we remember the song in general because we can hum or sing them. That is the essence of the song. What I do give is unique melodies: the better I can't relate to any song and I like, the better chances I'll remember it, and the higher the compliments I'll give every year for the awards. In early years this wasn't much of a case, as there weren't many songs to compare to (FYI my song list before Klassic Note is pathetic, just so you know), so it was pretty much everything I come across. We'll talk about that later. So, newer songs in later years came into increasing judgement on how different they are or actually, how comforting they are in famliarity, typically more of the latter as we see the lack of creativity in the music industry in general. What I do not give typically are those that do not fall into any of these categories, most notably in recent years the increase in "off-beat melodies" I would like to call it, as they create familiarity in melody but add a note or two in every phrase, making it impressional but less than convincing than me because it feels like a prick on that cactus which is a new song just slightly modified. And that applies to all parts of the song, most notable in the chorus because again, it's the impresison maker. It also appears most often, at least based on my experience, on the bridge part of the song as songs typically set to give a good impresion on which is known as audio previews released publicly before release, and giving a disappointing full song on release. These cases are most often seen in Anime songs written by producers in major labels instead of mainstream artists who are more dedicated to explore different melodies and styles. Other than that, some artists do exhibit unique melodies which can be memorable and happen more often with indie artists (as when I heard of them) including sunday morning bell, Lattice., amongst many others.

Secondly, in genre. In Klassic Note, I define genre differently from style (which I will talk next after this) and as what type of music is generally agreed upon in the industry, so for me it's kind of a gray area which can be exploited often so I can give melodies. In this case, it's most often a low priority factor. What I do give is what I have heard before. In early years, I have a Commendation mention of song genres I give over the years, and starting from familiar genres like Pop and Rock I have thus far advanced to having given Rap, Jazz, Heavy Metal, Electronic and Punk genres over the years. But yeah, I still give bias to song genres I feel comfortable giving, mostly in J-Rock and J-Pop, or a combination of both. Many Collection Artists in Klassic Note are there because their genres align with my interests. What I do not give though, are beat-based genres. I know it's compelling to have listed some of them which fall into this category, but hey, I'm being flexible, and as I mentioned earlier, not a heavy factory. However, the Techno genre has always been a no-go in Klassic Note from the start, and I hesitate to give any song even if the melody is good, and I generally avoid artists who touch on that genre of music or exhibit such styles. (It has been broken in 2018 but I'll leave that for another story) Also, because the definition of genre in Klassic Note is vague, a couple of songs which are prioritised of melody will be forgiven of this genre, namely from in 2017 Shishido Kavka's "Tachiagare" which can be argued to be in the Electronic/Techno genre and which I highly praised in the Song Awards. It was held back due to this rule as she stays 14th in the song rankings of that year.

Next, in style. Style in Klassic Note is defined as how an artist expresses different emotions, namely those with upbeat melodies and those with an emotional or sentimental feels to it, as far as I can feel. Rap is a good exception to this and is also seen so I guess this is a third style. For most artists, they (have to) display several different styles that will define them, and it's always shown in most artists, so liking one or the other in Klassic Note is not unusual. For example, KANA-BOON possesses all three styles. Their songs come with a variety of lively tunes, emotional melodies and of course, rapping songs which they do every now and then. Personally, I'm a fan of the lively songs, not so much on the emotional ones typically because they don't come up with a good melody every time, and rapping is out of my league for them. So yeah, just an example on how artist generally get my attention, and also how I give songs for artists and figure out if they have anything in style I can eventually like. Not a dealbreaker in first impression, but more for further analysis and inspection once the artist comes under the microscope.

Then, there is the instrumentals. If you've only been hearing the melody of any song, you've bene missing out. Part of listening to a song is to hear everything that is in it. The full audio spectrum. So yeah, from guitar riffs to drum beats to techno beats (not going there), there's always an instrumental melody or beat to remember by. So much so that since 2008 I've been introduced to intstrumental only bands from time to time, from SPECIAL OTHERS to PHONO TONES and so on. These artists remove the need for vocals for instrumental melody playing throughout, even for a long track length. And as distinctive as a melody, these make sure you'll remember the song itself as long as you can hear them. What I give and do not give though greatly depends on what I like and think is great, but the standards are generally lower compared to singing.

To a lesser extent and only preent in recent years, is lyrics. I know some people swear by song lyrics to give songs, but coming into a music industry for a language I have no idea about, this doesn't apply. Which is why the above rules take precedence in a world of not giving lyrics so I don't get distracted by the theme of the songs based generally on love and sadness if you are outside of Japan. In Klassic Note, you get a variety of emotions just listening to music itself, and the lyrics only came out of light as I continue to listen to more songs and sing along to the lyrics, from pronunciation to reading Japanese itself. With that, it brings a whole new level of comprehension and appreciation for the song(s), especially if it expresses a certain emotion. This however won't do good on song which have little meaning, but that is fine since this is not a dealbreaker rule, especially on first listen because the melody is more prominent than the lyrics since I can't comprehend them that fast to leave an impression.

And lastly, obligations. Because I like Anime, it has always been the reason for me to give songs in Klassic Note. Today, I have to give an Anime theme song if I have to give the corresponding show. Yes, it's a rule. So yes, maybe bad songs may have appeared from time to time to lower the quality throughout, but hey, there are good songs. More on that in the future posts, but yeah, this one I cannot dismiss. From Linked Horizon to practically anything in the "K-ON!" series, it's hard to see how this might throw the balance off what my bias is towards giving songs using the rules above. Another common trend which happens from time to time, is giving of cover songs. Whether it's for an Anime or an artist chose to release a Cover Album, it's another reason for me to give them songs for something they did not write, and that sometimes falls into two main categories: songs I have never heard of and I think the artist sang well, or - in more relevance to hearing songs for 10 years - songs I've heard of in Klassic Note. So yeah, standpoints for these have changed over the years, but since Collection Artists are getting their Tribute Albums which feature other artists covering their songs? For now I'm avoiding the awarding and addition of cover songs unless they are real good. Remixes of songs are even more of a no-go so don't bother asking if I give any of them.

THE WHITELIST
As with all rulebooks there are exceptions, and this is no... exception. Becuase there are too many differences out there (I always give them, and I want to end this post already), I'll just list a couple. Remember this is not an exhaustive list, but the most common trends that are observed throughout the years listening to Japanese songs. (I may just add a few more over time if you want to read this long post again)

In present context, it is harder for me to give emotional songs today not because I don't have emotions, but it takes more time to absorb the message and mood delivered by the song, and that does not work in recent years. In early years it was easy to give along with a compulsory school education and regular ups and downs, but moving on this will be harder as the rules in the book may not count anymore. Instead, giving lyrics may come in handy and first impression of the melody became higher determining factors compared to the others since I won't bother to listen to them a second time if I didn't like it at all. The Awards every year are good examples of what I give every year in terms of style, not genre, is never consistent.

Another thing which will likely break the rulebook is also, the inclusion of objective judgement. As mentioned from the start, this makes it a lot harder to give songs based on any rule or even any impression, as it continues to tie me into rejecting songs because of a certain lack of quality eg. verse is boring, and then ignoring everything else in the song which can potentially be good. To this, a solution is typically to give them a second chance as long as I find the need to, so Yogee New Waves is a good example in 2017 where I started off with giving zero songs and ended the year with two. This greatly hinders on the progress of giving good songs versus giving songs which I like, both important and presented very realistically in Klassic Note itself. Anime songs are another good reason this exception exists too.

WHAT I GIVEWHAT I DON'T
Familiar and/or fresh melodiesPoor song parts esp. chorus, bridge

In summary, we discussed in our first post for KN10YEARS what Klassic Note is about, its motto, and what goes to giving any song. Six rules are presented as reference to any song that is given over the past 10 years, with exceptions that are typically forgiven since it likely presents a unique mood that I'll not forget. As they say, music reflects on life, so if you listen to any song be sure to think if it represents what you feel right now. With so many songs out there, it's hard to even comment on all of them.

Next we shall kick start on The Klassic Note Spirit, starting from the top again from the origins, and presenting two years worth of stories every week until December where I will reveal The Master Plan for KN10YEARS. Cya guys then. First post on origins will follow shortly after this post.

The Entertainment News 2018 Edition Issue #41 - Anime Extra

Well, it may be a little hectic for this week ever since the last time I decided to watch that one show on a Sunday night before I sleep, but these are not it. So yeah, gotta cram watch these in one night then.

We're going to say goodbye to one(?) of the shows this week though, so we'll be back to normal next issue lol oh wait

アニメ Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3
"There's more than just Titans outside these walls" I mean, how did YOU know, ARMIN?? *laughs*
Okay I better check if I did mention that Eren's father was from outside of the walls or not... Oh I didn't haha good. The new episode is an episode of hope. Man, how many episodes of this series we get one like this? Not many- Wait, there's something in the ending theme song? WHAT THE FU-
#Spoilers (maybe I should cover this up just like the Reiss family)
Sorry for the sudden interruption because I was shocked. But first, where we left off. (Oh yeah, this will be the mobile site thumbnail too, oops) This week's episode (#AttackOnTitan49) was an episode of hope. We now know from the internal meeting that Eren's father was one from outside of the walls, and apparently he may be coming in to save the people within, but unfortunately encountered that memory-wiping of a Titan from the Reiss family, I assume. The rest, is probably as you know from the Commandant. Moving on, Levi now takes control of the serum, even though he got it from... Kenny (wow I forget the names of dead people real quick), and showed it to the higher-ups. He also had a confrontation with Erwin, who practically isn't fit to be a soldier right now. Well, he can still ride a horse. And scream. And wave his sword in the air. That's good enough as a Commander, right? *laughs* Anyways, re-taking of Wall Maria is in place, everyone had one final night eating the rarest food in their world now which is meat, and the three main guys talked through the night. Man, if we ever get a beach episode in this series I'll... *laughs* On other things, Beredo- what's his name, may already be waiting for them. Hey, not so fun now, isn't it? *looks at official website* Wait, this is it for now? Okay, then I better summarise. No wonder it was such a positive episode, this one.
Still Season 3, huh.
(Hey! It's the sea!)
This season (I wouldn't say that actually since next season is also called "Season 3" for some reason) brought us a lot of hope. Mainly revealing the truth behind most of the stuff within the walls, we now know of how Titans came to be (or can form), mostly through injecting that serum in you hoping that you're of royal blood so it works best on you. However, it may be more than that as they continue to witness the marvel of technology ahead they can't comprehend. Moreover also, the conspiracy regarding the politics ruling the walls. We also knew about Historia's real identity, and how she contribued to bringing peace once again to the now reduced region. Hey, we gotta expend again someday. Too bad it isn't this season. Things I got to wonder are why the theme songs barely lasted one-cour (which is on average 12 episodes) (okay it was close), why the haphazard conclusion which will be slated for explanations half a year later (like, why), and still mainly why the humans haven't gotten wiped yet. I mean, with the powers of the Titan at this point? An ambush would have easily wiped everyone in the walls. Hey, ever wondered how the walls were built WITHOUT the Titans f**king them? Me too. These, and many more questions unanswered, but I guess we'll just have to wait. Bring back better theme songs, man. I feel ashamed to have to give Linked Horizon another song lol (Like, where's cinema staff and Hikasa Youko?)
Let's end the "season" with two of the most pathetic people this time.
(lol)
Let's end the "season" with two of the most pathetic people this time.
(lmao)
P.S. All that idiot can do is scream, that Erwin. *laughs* <= Very deep meaning in context btw go figure it out yourself

アニメ Tsukumogami Kashimasu
"He made a fair bit from the rice market in the Kansai region..." Hey Sataro you forgot your 80 ryo debt to Okou-san? You broke her stuff, remember? (Also she could use the money to pay off the lending shop's debt *laughs*)
Hey despite Notetsu sounding like he's talking crap he actually makes sense. Not because of finding another woman, no no, but with the uncle he can ask around in there what they need, that last incense burner. (Notetsu gained 11 episodes worth of balls to say it though lmao) In this final episode (#Tsukumogami12) of this wonderful, wonderful series that is... oh come on, you guys know it. In the conclusion to #TheGossip we finally got the happy ending we all wanted. Did I wait 12 episodes for this to happen? You bet I did! Did I wait 12 episodes for Mikakoshi to flirt the sh*t out in front of a man?? YOU BET I DID!! Did I wait 12 episodes for Sataro-san to be indirectly rejected by Okou? You bet- Wait, what?? Okay, let's go over things. *laughs* Firstly, what happened. As we have learnt of last episode, Sataro-san is in town. And with Seiji's inquisitive mind, he figured out most of his motives for returning quick enough, of course, with great help this time around thanks to the tsukumogami which they keep saying they shouldn't converse with, but heck, this is last episode so we can break the rules haha. *laughs* Okay, back here. And so, Seiji went on a rough but eventful search for what Sataro is seeking, and where he is likely at now (stuck in the store room, so typical a hiding place lol). Hey, he did report home but other than that, he was totally prepared to marry Okou, I swear. Unfortunately, he thinks that all women are that fimicky that they will remember things like "Oh I broke something worth 80 ryo so I'm going to pay it back to you" and then we'll also propose to you for the marriage so now my mom can't say anything? Okou be like "what an idiot", and gave a scolding to Seiji too. Yes, guys. Apparently girls don't care about money. *laughs* Okay, jokes aside, but yeah, something Seiji and Sataro actually have in common that they will never understand (actually, I think I do) (but does that make me a woman? lol) and that is they are too apprehensive when it comes to love. If you really care, everything else should be forgiven. Hey, says a lot to what's bad about you and your girl is living with it. Think about it. I don't have one but you probably have, so think about it.

With all the forces coming together to solve this final mystery, and an afterword to conclude the series, I must say this is the best show this season. And yes, I mean that. Didn't really expect this ending, but I'll take it. Just like taking the debt for Izumoya, the incense burner from Sataro, the brush with a rabbit carving, the cigarette holder, the portrait of a moon, the figurine of a dancer, and the handy-dandy waist accessory. All in all, to deliver a sense of indifference and sense of satisfaction of solving communal mysteries in the Edo period. And that, I say this is a nice show. Kudos to the original author for thinking of this, for I would never believe such a concept will be that sound to make me love this every week. On the other hand, I would argue this last episode may be abrupt, since everything is going so smoothly. But hey, we can afford to have a show going according to plan, right? No? Then let's go over things again then. I think I might not have written this review good enough lol okay let's stop (I wish tsukumogamis were a real life thing; I love my phone so much back then it should become blessed lol) (What was your most treasured thing that isn't an electronic device?) (I don't have one now btw my dad threw it away because he didn't bother to fix it when the eye popped off *sob*)
He does deserve it by the way, whoever's not in the shot haha
*slap* haha
Real MVP this series though. You deserved it, Notetsu.
P.S. MVP this episode only: Usagi-san saying "going over things" earlier than Gokui Goi haha I LOVE THIS SHOW (sorry bro really, really forgot your name there)
P.P.S. "What good would ameteurs like us be able to do?" *looks at Seiji* *cues Conan theme music* Haha we don't need the magisterate! *laughs*

アニメ Gaikotsu Shoten'in Honda-san
"You, after wanting to work at a bookstore after watching Episode 1..." You're breaking the fourth wall, Honda-san. *laughs*
Wow, I might just like this show now. Sorry, Denkigai no Honya-san, it's time for me to move on. This new episode (#HondaSan02) cannot get more real on showcasing the busiest day in the bookstore, and for what reason? Because it's holidays and every other publisher has to push their books to release before that so we guys get to enjoy your books during the break. (Sorry, no personal experience as a customer so I cannot relate lol) (I will attempt to do it this holiday season, I promise *looks at Kawai Makoto-sensei and Hazuki Matcha-sensei*) So yeah, the guys at the store are going to have to work hard to display the stock, like it or not. Hey, if this is the first show about bookstore management you've seen, I'm sorry. Not the best example for this show doesn't provide fanservice, but jokes are still the best thing this Anime can offer, so I'll take it. Hey, more laughs in half an episode compared to many other shows out there? It's an achievement already. We also got chance to listen to some character stories, well, mainly on their roles and who are the largest manga publishers in the country lol. I mean, if you don't know how to piece up any of their names you're not experienced enough. Between Shueisha and Young Jump and Kadokawa and Koudansha and Shokotsukan... there's bound to be someone you'll be meeting along the way if you read manga. Oh, those were company names? Oops. For mostly this show (besides Honda-san) focuses on naming their characters after what they look like in their face eg. Paperbag, we shall refer to them by their nicknames. So yeah, just another quick insight to whatever this mess of a show is, but hey, I'm enjoying it. I'll definitely be picking up this show for this season, but considering how short this is I may just put these with the others but it'll be a day late. Oh dear customers, you guys won't mind, would you? (Please don't complain haha)
Me when I know I need to lie on a bed lmao
Me when I try to cram all my exams into one revision lol (?)
P.S. #WorkProblems when you try to take leave on days when you have nothing to do to come back on time to have stuff for you to do lol
P.P.S. TIL this was based on a true story lmao Honda-san I'm so sorry I'll have to laugh at you for another 3 months
[OMAKE!! My manga author followings for your reference. I may just have a small column to introduce them every week in the future, so stay tuned.]

Okay I better end this soon. If you see a weird thumbnail or two that means I'm not done with it yet and I'll do it at work tomorrow haha I know I'm REAL FREE didn't you see the minor changes to the site? Even at desktop? And mobile? Yeah, proudly spent 10 hours today fine-tuning it *laughs* Cya guys on Saturday.

Yes, Saturday. #KN10YEARS
